  1. DW just doesn't seem to have that inner fire and drive to succeed. It's all up to him to quickly wake up to this great opportunity in life and self-motivate. Sorry to hear about Smith's academic issues. I seem to recall from his initial interviews that he put a priority on academics and his life post-degree. Apparently not thus far.
  2. and take a quick but serious look at this guy. With as many scholarship failures as we've had at the QB position over the years, we need to consider taking an educated gamble or two at the position. At least consider a greyshirt possibility if the numbers this year don't work out. What the hell. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2322488-the-best-football-prospect-nobodys-ever-heard-of?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial
  3. We would have a tough time beating Old Yeller, even with a shotgun, but I'm gonna listen to it anyway. Well, at least the 1st half.
  4. Very disappointing. We seem to throw too many schollies toward ST and QB guys, when we really need tough and hard working athletic guys on the dark side of the trenches. It's tough to win without them unless you can pile up the points by successfully throwing the ball all over the field, and that's probably not something that we're even willing to try anyway. Frustrating.
  5. A very large rabbit, who bears a strong resemblance to Booger Kennedy and will be ready to start on opening day.
  6. It would only be fair that a complimentary Valium be dished out with every ticket purchase during the Benford era. There's rarely much to cheer about these days anyway.
  7. He uses his first name now.
  8. We had dinner last night with a couple who are smu season ticket holders, and they offered me their tickets to the majority of the games for the rest of the season. At first I thought it was simply because they didn't go to games very often, but now I suspect that they were just pitying me. This is just sad.
  9. So now I guess Schreiner is passing us by. This kind of inconsistent play just confirms that there is something very wrong going on here. Pathetic.
  10. JW needs to take over and show what he can do going to the hole against this competition.
  11. But will we win today?
  12. Yeah, he looks fairly polished and very confident out there, and most articles have him listed at 6'3". They ended up winning the NM Big School (6A) championship. Stop giving schollies to so many kickers, punters, and deep snappers and take a serious look at this guy. Maybe he would give us a little loyalty if we're the first. 298-397 for 4567 yards, with 49 TD's and 6 INT's ain't bad.
  13. Very true. When you steal something using force (his partner hitting the mall cop), it's usually worthy of a robbery charge. Lucky him. I guess.
  14. Since we're always interested in overlooked guys, any interest in this 6'1" 202 lb. pro-style QB with zero offers? Here's his S.I. "Faces in the Crowd" write-up: "Easton, a senior QB at Rio Rancho High, threw for 3617 yards, 42 touchdowns, and just 3 interceptions while completing 237 of 312 attempts (tops in the nation at 76%) to help the unbeaten Rams to the 6A state semi-finals. He has yet to receive a scholarship offer." Not exactly under the radar anymore after being in Sports Illustrated, but still no offers as far as I can tell. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Easton-Bruere-148226 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1839291/easton-bruere https://nmpreps.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1709804
  15. According to a recent Sports Illustrated article, there were 111 players last year "listed" at 5'10" or shorter in the NFL. I don't give a damn how tall a guy is as long as he can play.
  16. 17 Marshall players on either 1st, 2nd, or honorable mention. They were clearly the best, but that's a pretty high % of starters earning honors. Kind of disappointing that Harris wasn't above HM and that Y'Barbo was left out completely, but we were what we were and 4-8 doesn't help much with the accolades.
  17. Disappointing and sad. Someone needs to go bail him out and get the whole scoop. Hope he can get it together.
  18. Interesting that we get to see our two big OOC opponents next year face off on January 2nd.
  19. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Eli-Howard-168020
  20. I plan on making this game with my brother on a circuitous route through East Texas down to Houston. They are short and not that athletic, so I won't be a happy camper (literally camping) if we can't win this one. Haven't visited their coliseum since the 90's, and hopefully my unwashed self will at least be able to stink out a few Lumberjacks if we can't pull it off.
  21. But isn't that called FCS?
  22. Let's host it at the Sack N Save.
  23. I think they want to give it to Ohio State, but whether they will or not is a tough question to answer. Gonna be interesting.
  24. 6'3" and a 4.27? Sign him up!
  25. Do we have Ebola or what? Geez...nothing but bad news coming from both major sports. Oh well, here's to one of our itty bitty linemen knocking him silly if he ever sees the field.
