Not much flying required from him unless he's utilizing drones.

Yeah, I've always thought of him as more of a north/south MLB type of guy, but weakside? Hmmm...may be an interesting spring.

NT Daily: University officials looking to upgrade Super Pit
foutsrouts replied to James329's topic in Mean Green Basketball
If that talk/speech would sell out The Pit, then I think we've gotten to the root of our student attendance problems.- 107 replies

Exactly. Great night all around btw. The George sendoff was a bit of a tearjerker for those of us who have been accustomed to hearing his Mean Green voice for the last quarter of a century. I almost feel betrayed (lol) by his premature departure. A little undermanned or not, let's keep this going on the court. Making some noise heading into tourney time can only help us down the road.

I agree wholeheartedly. On the other hand, a MUTS rivalry doesn't really get any jumping beans going in my shorts either, but maybe that's just me.

Sombrero? If we actually agree to that then I just give up.

Coulda fooled me.

I was kind of under the impression that Chumley was more of a "QB shot or nothing" recruit, while Dillman was much more open to playing either position. With his physical tools, I hate to see a 5 year guy like Dillman not get a chance to develop as a QB. His limited American football background may be why they're steering him toward TE. If true, I'm not so sure that I agree with that philosophy, but I guess we'll just have to see how that works out.

Wow. Nice win. Sad that it didn't cross my mind until now that we had a game even though it's a Thursday night. Prior to this season, that hadn't happened to me in a decade or so. Now that we're winning a few, I'll probably remember the one this Saturday.

Personally, I'm not sure that a new guy's individual potential to become all-USA at this point is a make or break issue, since being a major multi-year team contributor, along with the overall quality of your defense (as well as overall record) can have a huge impact on all-CUSA selection. If just a couple of the newcomers on D can make a serious impact, then I think we have a chance to be pretty good on defense. Of course we could really use some serious "Abbey-like" improvement from upperclassmen like Wallace, Wallace, and Whitfield to really seal the deal on defense.

I did the same thing at UTA back in the 90's, and found my experience there to be a bit on the depressing side.

I don't know the numbers, but I've known A LOT of A&M commuters from the ever growing Conroe/Lake Conroe area, as well as from western Houston/Katy. Unlike the isolated wasteland of Lubbock where most commuters are born and raised locals, College Station seems to grow closer to the Houston area daily.

MGB: UNT's future nonconference opponents
foutsrouts replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't know how Arkansas is going to look when we play them, but Tennessee is returning 19 starters and has the third or fourth ranked recruiting class this year. Probably bad timing on that one, especially if they have a few impact freshmen. Luckily Iowa doesn't look overly loaded. -

I agree with all 5 points, with the possible exception of the quality/names of our scheduled "sisters of the poor" opponents. An area team like SFA might be dangerous some years, but bring 'em in anyway. Same goes for some of our former regional SBC conference mates. Incarnate Word just doesn't do it for me. -

Call me a dreamer, but If Mac could just find a way to get our QB situation (and play calling) straightened out, I'm not going to say that games against teams like Iowa are totally unwinnable. Tough challenge alright, but far from impossible. Of course we need to get our defense back somewhere close to the '13 level, and that looks like a tough task unless our JC guys REALLY come through. I do agree that it will not happen with a QB who has very little if any big play potential against quality teams. -

I'm certainly pulling for him to have an epiphany. -

It's pretty rare for a QB with persistent academic problems to come through and make his mark on a program, so Mini-Mac Part Deux here we come. Sure hope I'm wrong. -
UNT's schedule is out... We will not rest

Didn't a mattress salesman basically have us in a headlock on that one? -
We might already have a UNT lawyer in the Texas legislature by now if we had not been so shortsighted.

foutsrouts replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
At least we're not opening with one this season, which is about the only positive I can say about that schedule. We need to build a little confidence with an early win or two before playing the college football factories of the world. -
Tough loss record wise at this point. Oh well, we have the post-game TB talk to look forward to.

Sounds like Voss is getting warmed up for the Spring Game.

High scoring for us with 11+ left in the game. Guess I'l have to flip this one on.
