  1. Not much worse in this game than a guy blessed with 7 foot height who doesn't put out the effort. Somebody needs to buy this dude a lunch pail to bring with him to Denton.
  2. Actually, I think I already broke her in while watching Southern Meth getting her doors blown off when I attended the coming out party last August.
  3. Anybody know for sure when the flip is this game? I'm seeing both Saturday and Sunday, but it doesn't say specifically that the Grey vs. Red is SATURDAY at 7:00 PM. I need to be in Addison anyway at around 9:30 on Saturday night, and would like to catch the game and take a look at Brice beforehand. TIA.
  4. "The running back posted 295 carries for 2,063 yards during three seasons with the Thundering Herd. He also has 18 touchdowns. With a big senior season, sounds like his stupid move may have finally cost him a chance at getting paid playing a game for a living, since this is far from the first time he has seen stripped sunshine. http://www.lakelandlocal.com/2008/02/not-so-fleet-of-foot-in-downtown-lakeland/
  5. We desperately need a big, but I don't know how anybody has him pegged as A-Sun player of the year, since everything I'm seeing says that Ty Greene http://www.goupstate.com/article/20150302/ARTICLES/150309954?Title=Upstate-s-Ty-Greene-named-A-Sun-player-of-the-year got that award. Hope he works out for us.
  6. Bottom line IMO? When one of your not overly huge basketball players can easily out bench your top 300 pound O-Linemen, then you've probably got a problem in the system somewhere. We could do a better job developing these guys.
  7. Monmouth Northwestern State Mars Hill Bill & Maria
  8. Which is one of the many reasons that the powers that be should be pushing hard to raise the visibility and stature of our business school. Money generally comes from business and law grads, and we (he) clearly screwed up the law angle. When I was in school, our business programs in general seemed to be up and coming, but it now feels like they have stagnated despite the new and improved infrastructure. Music and arts are great, but we need to go where the money is if we are going to improve our overall reputation, and that reputation improvement would likely lead to more interest and financial support for our athletic programs. We're clearly STILL not exploiting our advantages, and those advantages are location and sheer human numbers. Hope the new pres. finds a way to get us going in the right direction.
  9. Almost makes me feel like we're the bad smell in the room, but of course I'm only joking.
  10. And the vast majority of that record was in what is generally considered the worst football conference in America. Even if you take out ten "body bag" losses it's still 35-75.
  11. Since 78% of them are on financial aid, I wouldn't think that they could afford to share their meth. Is there some kind of financial aid fraud going on down there?
  12. Most would likely have been better off extending their basketball careers in college.
  13. A bunch of great ideas, and there's no doubt that filling that thing up should be a major priority. The look of that empty wing is bush league and downright depressing.
  14. Well, the big boys did kind of set the upgraded standards in an attempt to rid themselves of undesirables, but it was certainly nobodies fault but ours for not fighting back and meeting those standards. Southwestern Louisiana managed to meet them and so should have we. Weren't there also Title IX, upgraded scheduling, and attendance issues involved? Regardless, nothing that couldn't have been overcome had the powers that be really given a damn.
  15. Close to 1000 HS coaches visited during the spring? That's quite a few if true.
  16. The "big boys" did something similar to us when they sent us packing to 1AA. It has been around 20 years now, and many would say that we still haven't recovered from it.
  17. Well, that answers my eligibility question. BOL to you Mr. Voss. Get that 40 number down a tad and you can make it happen with hard work and hands of glue.
  18. Other than a very much needed Brice, it seems like the only height we can get around here these days is often injured transfer height that never contributes much of anything. Almost makes me wish we could reincarnate Big Ben Knox.
  19. Antonio Gates (and a few others) only played basketball in college and had a great NFL career at TE. Sav Rocca (rugby) was a 33 year old rookie punter in '06 who never went to college and is still trying to play. There have also been several track, soccer (kickers), and rugby guys who first played football in the NFL, along with a few more unusual stories of NFL guys who never went to college like Mike "Beer Man" Lewis.
  20. I thought he signed and played BB at Central Michigan right out of high school? So I'm guessing that he has blown off the idea of playing FB for us in the fall, or were there eligibility issues?
  21. Those were pretty much my thoughts last year. Let DW play through his issues. Of course hindsight is always crystal.
  22. Maybe they're trying to tell us that our QB's arm strength is more suited for arena ball?
  23. I realize that we have what we have, but does anyone really think that McNulty would be the starting QB (or even 2nd string) at any other FBS school had he not come here? I mean really? Not meaning to seriously bash the guy or get too much into the "nepotism" thing, but just trying to be real. Hope his experience pays off this year and he turns out to be our modern day Lance Mcllhenny.
  24. Just goes to show that we should all pick our parents' friends wisely.
