  1. So what makes you the authority on this issue? Seriously. You seem very passionate and sure of yourself in regard to Smith's ineptitude, and if you tell us something that we don't already know on the subject, you might actually convince some of us that no amount of extended playing time will reap solid benefits for Smith at this level. Are you on the team or extremely close to an unbiased member of the team? Have you played extensively with Smith at some level? Are you widely known as an expert at evaluating QB talent? Just give me some solid evidence as to why you're so sure of your evaluation based on such a small sample size and I'm with ya bro. Otherwise, this argument is nothing more than a speculative rehash until we actually see him get extensive PT. TIA. Go Rangers!
  2. I agree. Strangely enough, the positive culture change seemed to begin for a large part early in the Dodge era. Although our N.O. Bowl appearances did show some pretty impressive fan support. We've got to win soon before we regress back in the other direction.
  3. The problem for him is that the gloating will last a grand total of 5 whole days before he is slammed back into reality.
  4. Scary stuff. Maybe this article is the reason behind our defense avoiding contact this season.
  5. I know, just messing. I did the same thing the other day before realizing after the fact (lol).
  6. Which is why we need to start developing him now, so that we can possibly start him next year and begin developing the next guy. Greer is not the answer to anything. Unless we think that going 6-1 from here on out (Tennessee is a guaranteed loss) is a possibility, this season is pretty much meaningless at this point and time. Begin developing someone (anyone) besides the lame duck named McNulty.
  7. That is the entire point. This season is done, so why not see if somebody else can show promise for next year at the position? McNulty has proven his worth, for whatever that is worth. Oh, and good luck with the starting freshman QB next year. With Mac that will be an impossibility unless there is a special connection. Get ready for a Greer/Means dogfight. This is getting too redundant. Hasta la vista.
  8. There is no such thing as there being no difference at all between two human beings. Hitler and Stalin both liked to kill, but they were very different people. I guess I can understand where you developed your impressions if you're either on the team, are McNulty's father, or are Mac himself.
  9. Give us 4 days and there's no doubt that we'll be numero uno with a loss.
  10. Nobody said he's an NFL quarterback. He has publicly stated more than once that this is his aspiration, and that is not surprising since he was a varsity starter beginning in 9th grade against pretty decent competition, and he was flooded with praise for years by everyone around him. He's likely not the second coming, but we haven't seen enough of him yet to throw him in the dumpster. People with innate skills do tend to improve with experience ya know. Enough said.
  11. There's an asterisk next to why he couldn't nail down the starting job here (with an assist from his own F'up), and I'm afraid that we're about to find out in 9 days why he couldn't grab the starting job at WKU.
  12. Now you're calling him a hashhead? Geez...
  13. Yeah, it's all pretty much a crapshoot. We cant afford the 2-3 million dollar man, so all we can do is grab an experienced and successful big school coordinator, a successful FCS, or an older guy (or disgraced guy) with success but also failure (McCarney) on his resume. Since we can't afford the 2-3 million dollar man, it's probably not going to matter much if we offer him 600K or 1.2 million. The key is getting the right guy interested and in the door. He can be compensated further when he shows proof that he is building a program, and that's where we knee jerk F'd up with McCarney after the bowl win with TD's players.
  14. I strongly suspect that he still has NFL aspirations, and the opportunity to show his stuff is unlikely to happen here. I hope he goes to Liberty and lights us up next season.
  15. At least he didn't take a visit to Denton and catch the McPlague. Get well soon Lance.
  16. Has he ever uttered anything close to a negative word in regard to McNulty? I mean, EVER? You would think that McNulty is the second coming of Joe Montana. I used to like this guy but his crap is really getting old. Smith will be likely be gone in January, and there's no telling what kind of corn picker with a photographic memory he will bring in to start next season. Somebody needs to come up with breach of contract violation, and they can start with the near 100 grand that he dropped in his buddies pocket. Of course nobody in the administration has got the cojones for it. I'm seriously starting to wonder if his illnesses have had an effect on his mind. If we're destined to lose on Saturday, I hope it's 100-0. Not that I blame him for grabbing the opportunity here, but no FCS even wanted him. Not even Northern Iowa.
  17. Do we really have an ample sample size for Smith? I still want to see more before passing judgement.
  18. I think they're the gang who have approved our last 17 bad hires.
  19. Confused me for a second. I thought you were saying that she is married to RV, and since this has become a religious thread, I was about to say a little prayer for her.
  20. Bet he's the strong and silent type. We could use some of that.
  21. I only heard it on the radio so someone who actually saw it please correct me, but I bet everyone would be praising Smith had he only tucked and powered it in for a TD on that interception play.
  22. I REALLY don't want us to go 0-12, so I'm going to lie and say we win 24-21.
