  1. Bottom line to me is that the banner is not going to cause any damage to our University like some are alleging. It may not get the job done, but it will certainly let people know within and without our school that people do care, and that many here have had it with the blase and incompetent crap that we have been fed for years by those in charge. Let 'er fly.
  2. I'm not terribly impressed with our strength and conditioning guy either. We need to banner all of 'em.
  3. There's no longer an East Texas or West Texas State, so at least we would have separation.
  4. Well, certainly enough money for a banner.
  5. Why not at this point. What is he now, like a vagina symbol or something?
  6. If only we can get a stadium flash flood in Huntington tomorrow we might be able to pull this off.
  7. RV's coaches can boast victories over teams with overall combined records of 110-257, and if you take out the bowl season (46-67), RV's teams have been victorious over teams that went a combined total of 64-190. Not too stellar, especially when you consider that roughly half of our victories since '07 were against terrible FU, smu, WKU, Monroe, and FCS teams. Other than a couple of nice wins during the bowl season, RV's hires have had almost zero notable victories. Unless you want to count Indiana and Ball State, who had a combined record of 3-21 during the seasons that we beat them.
  8. Sorry if this has already been asked, but will the banner still fly if we go in and whip Marshall?
  9. I think his statements do definitely border on delusional, since all you have to do is look at butts in the seats to find proof positive of what the MAJORITY of the fanbase thinks of his product.
  10. Pre-game banner or not, I bet we get a nice bump in attendance because of this. Could be more exciting than the game itself. Nice promo!
  11. Graffiti artists could probably be had for a couple of hundred, but we have far too much class for that.
  12. But isn't the banner intended to function as a wake up call for EVERYONE at the top? I mean, the individuals above RV are the ones who are being asked to execute his termination, so I would think that the banner is directed at them more than at just RV. This culture of accepting athletic mediocrity has just got to stop, and sometimes a little open rebellion is the only way to affect change. I admit that I have somewhat mixed feelings about it, but actions often speak louder than words. Especially when your words are being ignored.
  13. I'm thinking we're going to beat the spread and pull a bit of a surprise. Chico "interimship" and all. 44-34 Marshall Couldn't quite go for the upset on the road.
  14. Yet he was arguably the worst recruiter we've ever had. Probaby not even arguably when you consider what he had to work with. Maybe It was actually him at the Taco Cabana that night and they did the old switcharoo?
  15. If anyone told you they'd have to kill you. Rumor has it that they meet in a bunker deep below Fouts Field.
  16. Darrell is a dickey. Why would we hire someone who hates us?
  17. If you're referring to Hispanics, I doubt that this will happen anytime soon. American Hispanics love the game. Of course the feminization of America threat to the game is an entirely different matter.
  18. True. If I were head coach at say Houston, and NT called, I'd be in Denton in a heartbeat. Assuming the money was there of course.
  19. I still don't think that we can afford that, so we need to convince all of them to get real jobs, by having them do something along the line of scrubbing Fouts urinals until they just can't take it anymore.
  20. You left out the rest of his title (AHC/Co-OC/RB). Not that I'm for a return of him in any way of course, but he did finish out his sentence here as far as we would let him. Sadly, I suspect he'll be enjoying plenty of laughs when we visit his newest state of residence in short order.
  21. Or to basically finish his head coaching career in shame, just like all head coaches who have come here for the last 30+ years?
  22. Yeah, he did his ACL when he was around 15 years old, so it's not as if he has a low chance of injury running like that. Hope that Chico works with him this week in that regard. We need him healthy and ready to go in the spring, unless we want to see Greer working with the first teamers then. We should probably give Greer a few series in upcoming blowouts. The second half of the Tennessee game might be a good time. Let's see if he can redeem himself for his debacle against the other UT last season.
  23. Not defending Dickey, but we were just climbing out of 1AA during the Big West years. Not many teams make that jump without some ugliness.
  24. And the most telling stat is that it was the most yards by an NT QB in 25 freaking years.
  25. Yes, Mac apparently thinks that the ONLY way to evaluate QB play is during practice, and that is of course going against by far the worst defense in the country. It's no wonder that he swore up and down that our QB play would be MUCH improved this year based on what he saw in practice.
