  1. If he were moving from say Kingwood H.S. to the University of Houston I don't think he would be making that ridiculous comment. Ive always disliked that jerk!
  2. So if we're lucky in '08 we'll have our current triplets (Wilson, Phillips, and Meager) as Seniors, Snead as a Sophomore, and Riley Dodge as a Freshman. Hmmm, sounds interesting. Could be a nice redshirt year for Riley to develop as "The Man" for his Junior and Senior seasons!
  3. I think a Dodge offense could be VERY productive for Jamario. The last two years he was surrounded by the enemy virtually every time he touched the ball. That could change quite a bit in a wide open offense. Along with improving his health in a major way, I hope he's ready to work his butt off on improving his ball catching abilities. He's going to need to demonstrate good receiver skills anyhow if he still has NFL aspirations.
  4. I've seen Rocky beat better athletes on a regular basis and so can we.
  5. Since we do normally play on different days of the week, maybe the SLC fans will miss TD enough to buy a couple of thousand NT season tickets?
  6. With a sit out year ahead and three years of eligibility left, Sneed might be thinking that Riley Dodge could be a thorn in his side as far as being our starter is concerned. Since Bomar didn't play at Sam this year, I would think that he could be eligible to play here next fall.
  7. If the Texans had not been so ridiculously attached to David Carr, they could of traded him for at least two quality defensive guys and had Young to build around at QB. I was an Oiler fan all my life and it's no wonder that I have yet to warm to the Texans. One of the dumbest moves in NFL history from both a personnel and public relations standpoint.
  8. Sounds good so far. Strange that those Permanent Fund thieves down in Austin are spending close to TWO HUNDRED million just to upgrade their north endzone.
  9. You probably should ask "Deep Throat" to be a little more specific before you ask people to rely on him in the future.
  10. I question hiring a guy from that level of football who has no Texas connections. There's really not much of a recruiting process involved at the non-scholarship level, and unless he's really something special in many areas, it sounds to me like his hiring would require a very long rebuilding process.
  11. That's possible, but I doubt that there has ever been a two loss team that failed to make the tourney. No way a two loss team wouldn't make the NIT.

  13. Hope we don't hire one of those guys. Most of those guys sound about as informed as your average old Pop Warner coach.
  14. I doubt that DD is even admitting to himself that keeping RF on the payroll probably contributed to his firing in a major way. He had plenty of excuses to dump him last year but just couldn't see the writing on the wall. A quality OC this year would of likely gotten us a solid six wins (imo) and saved Dickey's job. Maybe the true DD haters of the world owe RF a word of thanks for a job well done.
  15. Which one and why?
  16. From what I hear he also flipped a lot of bills for the Punies program during that time period.
  17. I've been wondering the same thing. I had hoped he would be more productive while seeing more minutes by now. We're definitely going to need more points from the frontcourt and I hope that JJ gives him the opportunity to show what he's got. He certainly showed great promise in high school and didn't look too bad last year either. Other than the WK game on 12/19, the December schedule should give Edwards and a couple of the other bench guys a chance to make their case for more minutes. At least I'm hoping that's the way things work out.
  18. I guess Rice must be pretty honest with their attendance figures. I was at the game and it looked like a solid 15,000 to me. I think that quite a few people strolled into the game after halftime. SMU would of found a way to call that crowd 25,000. Good game and nice win for the Owls.
  19. Yeah Faust was controversial because of VERY high expectations at ND back then, but he did take them to a couple of bowl games during his fairly brief tenure. Unlike Dodge, I don't think he had a bit of college coaching experience when he arrived in South Bend. I think TD is ready to move on up and I hope we get him.
  20. He's got to be too old after that two decade college career.
  21. If we're trying gimmicks, then why don't we just hire a supermodel? A little sweet talk and promises of future benefits might get us a few bluechips. I know she would get my attention.
  22. Wow. I only watched the first half and thought Louisville was going to blow them out. I bet Mack and company are starting to dream again.
  23. Can't they go outside and do that at halftime?
  24. Hope you and your fellow students get excited about this team and make a good showing. Unfortunately, we have a lot of fair weather fans in Denton. Once we show that we have a quality team, I expect the lack of attendance situation will change. Wish I could make it tomorrow, but I'll be in Louisiana. Best of luck.
  25. Yeah let's fire Dunham, and while were at it let's fire everyone in the athletic department and create a sports free environment at North Texas. It would make for a much simpler and less problematic life for us all.
