Sure hope you're right and I'm expecting the same, but the '91 team scored 47 pts. after 4 games, while the '07 team has scored 68 pts. after 4 games. The '91 team played Oklahoma, ACC (win), Nevada, and Southwest Missouri (tie). Not quite as tough as our schedule thus far, but 3 of those 4 teams were pretty good. I agree with the creator of this thread that it's not even worth arguing about at this point. I guess we'll be able to answer this question better in a month or so.
-
No doubt that '91 team was bad, but unfortunately we have already given up 220 of those 300 points and we are only one third through the season. If we can hold our remainng opponents to an average of 22 points per game, we can avoid giving up 400 this year. Not looking too likely at this point.

Winless Ull Opens As 9 Point Vegas Favorite

The men that doza a lot will likely still be sleepy and give up quite a few points to LaLa. Will we be able to dodge a loss with a fresh man at the helm or will we be stuck with the same old meager offense? That is the question. -
Yes. We look like a high school team out there. Wonder why? There, I said it. Now that I've vented, I'm ready to put this in the past and be hopeful that this on the job training program for our coaching staff begins to pay dividends. And fast!!

Over 500 yards and 23 first downs IN THE FIRST HALF! Need I say more?

Will the game audio still be transmitted via smoke signal, or have they moved up to hill to hill yodeling?

How Do I Participate In A Chili Cook-off?
foutsrouts replied to infuryum's topic in Mean Green Football
You need to come up with your own variation, but this site is a good place to start. I've tried several variations of these recipes and liked 'em all - especially "Runs for Your Life" . Your equipment will depend on your recipe, but a good heat source, cooler, and possibly a blender are a good place to begin. GL. http://www.chilicookoff.com/Recipe/Recipe_...0&StatusID= -
Yeah, most of the complaining so far has been directed at Meager's untimely interceptions and Mendoza's pourous defense. Rightly so in my opinion, but the bottom line after 3 straight losses is that the buck stops with Todd Dodge. That's just the way it is whether you're a high school coaching legend or not.
-
Some valid points, but your post reads a bit on the condescending side. Virtually all of the posters here are enthusiastically on board with TD and his program. Please forgive us if we occasional question his decisions and the team's overall performance while he is at the helm. He has yet to prove himself to be a coaching God at this level, and believe it or not, poor little helpless NT plays on a level above that of Southlake Carroll High School.

Quite a few. I think that Vizza, Moreland (walk-on), B. Johnson, Taveras, Ealey, R. Johnson, Davis, Dibrell, DeSoto, Roman (trans.), Montgomery (trans.) and DeSoto have all played. Probably missed a couple.
-
Yeah, his only Redshirt possibility at this point for this year would be a "Medical Redshirt" if he were somehow injured.
-
5'11" is a nice size for a college QB if you ask me. I like the mobility advantage that a guy in that size range often has over the slower and stiffer taller guys. Not hard to look back historically and see that to be a fact. Not even an issue worth arguing about.

Yeah, I thought that movie was OK since the babysitter girl wasn't too bad looking, but I really haven't been a big Tom Cruise fan since Top Gun. I don't think Flanigan could even make a drinkable Cocktail with a Margarita machine.
-
I don't honestly know if it should be Vizza or Meager at this point. All I know is that I'm a bit upset and think that TD should consider putting his QB's under center every once in a while. We looked a little to telegraphed out there on offense. Glad Jamo broke out a little tonight and hope that continues. At least the D showed some improvement.
-
Sure is looking better over there! Drawing a quality opponent like Navy to Fouts sure did help get the old paint brushes flying.
-
And Pittsburg and Pittsburg aren't too bad. Not sure if you would call San Diego State's attendance too good these days. I guess Boulder and the Broncos don't quite qualify even though they are right down the road from each other. The same could almost be said for the Froggies and the soon to be Tarrant County Cowboys even though TCU's attendance doesn't always qualify as great.

Speaking of UofH, we need to get a home and home started with them ASAP. We're natural rivals, and that town still barely knows that we exist. The Chronicle's coverage of us is absolutely pitiful. It would be very beneficial for both parties to get something going.
-
Hmmmm.... Apparently it was our decision to back out of that game. Not real happy about it, but I guess 100k to 250k money talks!
-
Agreed. There's no doubt in my mind that The Belt is improving. If we followed the lead of some of the BCS schools and played some of the Woffords, Charleston Southerns, and Northern Iowas of the world our record would be much better at this point. Unfortunately, all of the SBC wallets require a couple of 500k paydays right off the bat to pay the bills. I doubt that will change much anytime soon.
-
Certainy willing to cut him some slack this early in his tenure, but Mendoza better get it together quick. This ain't the SBC of old, and the way we have looked so far, I'm not sure if we could even stop a Sul Ross offense stocked with eleven 59 year olds.
-
NO WAY that has EVER happened. Hell of a week for the SBC, and this is coming from a guy who has never really been all that thrilled about our membership in the SBC. We're going to have a tough time of it this year if we don't get our D together! On a side note, I saw TT and Rice play today down in Houston. I enjoyed the small crowd at big and beautiful old Rice Stadium on a nice sunny day, but those old pee troughs have got nothing on Fouts. Nasty!!
-
I'm finally being convinced more and more, that the SBC is rapidly becoming a conference to be reckoned with. Most of our schools are in recruiting hotbeds and it may be starting to show. Troy was dominating tonight. We better get our defensive arses together real quick or we may have them handed to us this season.

Stillwater, Denton, Athens, Waco, and now Weatherford. At least it looks like he's geographically working his way in a circle back to Denton!
