  1. So sorry for the situation that you all are having to deal with, and I pray that things work out for you. God Bless!
  2. Definitely. I always thought he was underrated by many. He ran the offense almost flawlessly during a large portion of his career, and he did so while fighting through a couple of pretty nasty injuries. A great competitor.
  3. Flea flicker. Why not go for it since we're supposedly the worst team in college football?
  4. Not to be negative because I am generally optimistic about this season, but I have never seen worse tackling in my life above the AA High School level than I saw around here the last couple of years. Glad we seem to be making it a priority.
  5. Is there a practice at Fouts tonight? I'd like to try and catch some of it. TIA.
  6. Is this the first time ever that we have been honored with the number one position? Oh well, I don't put much credence into a poll where he's got NMSU listed at number 6 and also on the waiting list. The doofass doesn't even proofread his work.
  7. That could well be the case eventually, but in todays game full of spread offenses and such, I just love having hard hitting fast safeties in the mold of Buckles, Jones, Knowlton and others. Especially when we seem to be pretty well loaded with young athletic DE's for the moment. I guess it just kind of depends on how his game develops from here on out.
  8. Nice pickup. With that size and speed, it might be nice if he could adapt into a SS for next season. I'm hopeful that this year's team will have some DB's that can finally tackle better than my grandmother, but over the last couple of years we've sure needed someone back there who could both run and lay a hit on somebody.
  9. Well, if he were your average everyday walk on, I don't think his odds of being on the team would be all that hot anyway. Also, if he were not in the spotlight as a guy with athletic ability, he probably would have gotten a slight slap on the wrist with reduced charges for that crime EVEN if the charges were not dropped. Whatever the deal is here, I certainly hope that he has gotten his stuff together in a BIG way, and that he can also contribute to this football team in a way that will be beneficial to everyone. We shall see.
  10. Nice interview. I am definitely ready for some football! Anyone have a clue as to the two a days etc. schedule next month?
  11. Yeah, kind of like the ugliest kids at the dance, we should be dancing together instead of fighting each other.
  12. Yeah, but those WACkys did most of their losing as Beltys.
  13. Turn him into a "Refrigerator" also in short yardage situations. We could use any gimmick that we can come up with, and maybe it would convince TD that the QB needs to get down under center every once in awhile.
  14. Old Dominion. Tough in basketball, but they haven't won a football game since 1940 and we might have a shot at a win.
  15. Mexia and White Settlement both declined to be our travel partners and are now our sworn enemies.
  16. I think it must be that using the word "dogs" is politically incorrect and offensive to the canine population.
  17. One good thing going for Riley is that he will be a 21 year old freshman shortly after the season starts. The extra couple of years for his body to develop more into a man's rather than a kid's could help him out as far as injury susceptibility is concerned. We shall see.
  18. That guy must be putting some nasty stuff in his body if his nose stuff is the color of our uniforms. What a moron.
  19. Probably because it has a nice disrespectful ring to it. Twenty plus years ago when we were NTSU, an enemy or two would occasionally refer to us as "NUTS." Not very nice, but what the hell.
  20. He's supposed to be working with baseball players anyway, and since we don't have a team who needs him.
  21. Oh for the days when we had Jamario and PC on the cover. If TD can win more games than Miss California has tatas, maybe we can get the stadium on the cover in a couple of years?
  22. All very true, but I do think that LA Tech just seems to have a little more "rivalry potential" than Monroe. Monroe and NT seemed to have a much stronger rivalry back in the Southland days when they were Northeast Louisiana, but that seems to have dried up a bit here in The Sunbelt.
  23. Let's give him an honorary mid-court green chair up in nose bleed land. He deserves some kind of an honor for being our first non-color blind coach since the construction of The Super Pit.
  24. The only answer I can come up with for that is that I think our recruiting could very well improve if we were in the WAC. Maybe it's just me, but if I were a potential recruit, I would likely feel much better about committing to a WAC team over an SBC team. It might be different if we were picking up quality recruits in the "Old South" because of our SBC membership, but I'm just not seeing it.
  25. I'm not going to jump on any WAC bandwagon at the moment because I'm basically kind of neutral to the idea, but what has The Belt really done for us other than our early N.O. Bowl appearances? No rivalries, no easy drives (except maybe Monroe), no "name" opponents, and our football program is in the dumps. Also, The Belt looks as if it is about to continue its "entry level" tradition by admitting several 1A rookies over the next few years. On the other hand, I do think that The Belt is on the upswing, but leaving the "entry level" scene is a pretty enticing concept. As another poster said, we really just need to just start winning football games. We shall see.
