  1. Dream on. You guys aren't even good enough to win the Corn Belt.
  2. But we've decided that we're going to end your season this year both in basketball and football. The Theron Fouts curse is upon you!
  3. And we are the top team in the country at getting to the free throw line, so I guess that means we've got this one in the bag. Sure better than being the best in America at having a Big Mac in the bag.
  4. Yes, we got burned and logic was totally lost here in my opinion, but I guess we'll just have to deal with the cards we were dealt. Montana stole the spot I had dreamed of. As long as we don't follow that path of getting way behind early, I think we've got a reasonable chance to pull it out in the end. I'm going to be there to see it.
  5. New Mexico lost to SDSU which probably ruined my dream of a matchup with them. They just have never looked like an "elite" team to me, and they'll probably move down to a 4th seed at best. Santa Barbara won, Akron won, and Morgan won. Does anyone have any good news other than UofH, South Carolina State, Ohio, and SFA win possibilities tomorrow? At least TSU won.
  6. Definitely. It would be really nice if we could get schools like Tulsa, Houston, TT, Tulane, UTEP, and the three locals among others to schedule us with a home and home on a regular basis. We already play UTA regularly, so if we could get the bozos who are holding up a four team Metroplex tourney to come on board, we would have a bit of the problem licked right there. Two Camerons a year should be enough.
  7. I actually think for the most part that I would prefer playing the 3's over the 4's. Come on 14th seed!
  8. I'm out of town for part of mid-April, but I'd love to take part if it's happening in the latter part of the month.
  9. Of couse I always liked the Dunham half of the duo, but the Miller part drove me away. He's all yours.
  10. What's he gonna chat about? How we are not deserving of a tourney bid and should be replaced by the Sooners?
  11. New Mexico can certainly play, buy they had a lot of trouble putting away a 1-15 cellar dweller Air Force team today. They are very much an Albuquerque "homer" team, and played 11 of their 15 non-conference games at home, including their close win over the Aggies. Since they have had trouble blowing away just about anyone on the road, I would definitely choose them as our opponent over the other alternatives. It's not easy to do, but shut down Darien Hobson and you shut down New Mexico.
  12. As far as Big 12 is concerned, K. State and Aggies yes, Baylor NO! Their combination of size and athleticism would be hard to deal with.
  13. Yeah, it would be a tough win, but I wouldn't mind a shot at K. State either. Too bad we can't get hooked up with the Aggies again. Wasn't overly impressed with their win today.
  14. Can't believe they now have Montana ahead of us. They did beat a pretty decent Oregon team as well as a schizo Boise State, but they did lose to Denver. That Boise loss could come back to haunt us if we don't get some help from The Southland.
  15. Ask the Fanjerk how one of our worst teams (S. Bama) beat Arkansas and an 18th ranked Florida? I've heard that guy before and cannot stand him. And yes, winning will take care of our media problem. Although I don't think our New Orleans Bowl run publicity was too bad, for the most part we've been perceived as being irrelevant since the day we dropped down to 1AA. We seemed to get very good pub WAY back in the olden days of the late 70's. Hope we're beginning to see those days return.
  16. I'll take the 14th seed even if we have to play it in Hong Kong. Based purely on RPI's, I guess we're gonna have to root for someone besides Sam to win the Southland, and for a pretty good Montana team to beat Weber State in the Big Sky Championship game tonight. I would still love us to slip into the 14th seed and get matched up with a #3 seed New Mexico. I saw them against TCU and was not impressed.
  17. Yeah, 5 is generally best to us. Maybe we should kinda follow Jerry's lead and move all of our non-Denton County operations to Tarrant.
  18. I'm Lovin It! Those guys played so hard defensively out there that it was truly incredible. I certainly don't rule us out winning the next game. Everybody needs to start thinking New Mexico, New Mexico, OKC, OKC. I saw them play TCU a few weeks ago, and I have very little doubt that we can beat those guys. A 14th seed would certainly help in that regard. GREAT JOB GUYS!! New Mexico, New Mexico, OKC!!!!
  19. What is that events center for, since according to The Dallas Morning News UTA does not have a D1 basketball program?
  20. The most ridiculous article I've ever read. Did this guy just ride into town from France or what? Does he read his employer's newspaper, or does he watch the local news? If he did, he would know that this AREA is referred to as North Texas, and we are THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS! Maybe he just doesn't read the newspapers or know the area at all, and thinks that we are Division 3 or NAIA or something. AFTER we take home the trophy tonight, they owe us front page pub for that front page snub. Let's go GREEN!
  21. The'07 team was deeper on the perimeter and a bit bigger overall, but I'll take the 2010 team since we have yet to fail to reach the Final Four. Go Green!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I wasn't around until the late 70's, but I think it was pretty much designed as an all-around events center rather than strictly for basketball. We couldn't even get green seats until Trilli came along. It's amazing how few large basketball venues there were in the state back then. I remember the new Hoffheinz Pavillion (Rockets/Cougars) as being the only arena with similar capacity, and I have personally always preferred The Pit. My first visit to The Pit was NT vs. Depaul 30 or so years ago, and it really rocked when full. Hope it happens again soon.
