  1. If it were not for the new stadium, there would likely be a lot of talk out there about us giving up on football or once again dropping down another level. I don't consider myself a "Dodge hater", but that new stadium may be the only thing that has saved us from his tenure here. Hope I'm wrong, we win out this year, and we all live happily ever after.
  2. I think we get to find out what the players really think about their coach tonight. They know that this game is crucial for the coach's lifespan around here, and I hope they come out on fire with a lot of intensity. If they don't, well I guess frankly they just don't give a damn Scarlet.
  3. The only soft I see in him is in his shot. I have to go to Abilene sometime this Fall, and I'll see if I can time it to where I can catch one of his games.
  4. looks like their problems may extend beyond Dunn. http://www.big12hoops.com/2010/10/12/1748318/baylors-offseason-gets-worse
  5. Their bread and butter is complimentary, so it can be done with a little nerve and imagination.
  6. I'd like to think that this is true, but the inability of our TD coached teams to win the close ones has gone way beyond coincidence. It will be interesting to see from here on out if we finally have a kicking game that is at least dependable enough to make a high school team proud.
  7. add texting to the list as well.
  8. I know that he lacks experience, but what's the knock on Baine if he has a good arm and is a good strong runner? If there isn't a serious physical (or above the shoulders) negative to his being a QB, then why hasn't he seemed to be a serious contender for the job all along? Just wondering if anyone on the board has a more complete evaluation of the guy's skills. If he turns out to be a gamer, people are REALLY going to have some questions in regard to our staff's evaluative skills.
  9. ' We also need to spray our players with pit bull and spider repellant since we lost two of our three most acclaimed offensive players to those varmits last week.
  10. Yes, and that gamble also caused us a badly needed receiver in the process. Riley is a great competitor and did a good job in both games, but at the very least Baine should have seen some action in those games to prepare for the inevitable. Sure hope that Baine turns out to be surprisingly effective, because we are definitely up the creek if he isn't.
  11. Where does the average number of D1A injuries per team fit into the equation, and shouldn't that number be floating based on games played:blink:?
  12. Wow. The good news just keeps on coming. Next we'll probably hear that the new stadium is being built on top of an ancient Indian burial ground and will have to be torn down. Amazing.
  13. No need to blame Riley for this loss. He turned out a very gutsy performance IMO. He cannot help that he has what looks like a junior high arm, and it is not his fault that the coaches have gone with him instead of Baine or others. Blame the coaches if we must, and we just have to hope that they wake up and realize that our opponents have film too. We need a passing threat over 25 yards, and a kicking threat over 10 yards, and we might be able to finish off some games.
  14. B)BINGO! I bet it happens, but these guys seem to figure these things out about a month after the armchairs do.
  15. I've been following this team since the late 70's, and I have to admit that this was probably the most depressing loss I have witnessed here. I cannot help but say that I feel TD has got to move along simply for the fact that he has proven to being incapable of finding someone who can regularly KICK EXTRA POINTS IN HIS YEAR NUMBER FOUR! I guess I have nothing left to say, other than that I wish I still had eligibility left, because I have no doubt that I (and many others) could kick them routinely over a defensive line stacked with 11 Yao Mings. Sad, but I will probably be back for more punishment next week. Hope we somehow can come up with the miracle on 1-35 , but it's not looking too likely at this point.
  16. Keep it similar, but X out the big SEC schools. For regional reasons, I don't mind scheduling UT and OK every once in a while, but I would generally rather replace them with any of the other Big 12 (10) schools. A PAC 10 school here and there might be nice also.
  17. I liked that too. I thought he was going to leave our name out but he came through.
  18. Tell 'em to stay in town. Several of them are tall enough to see over the OL, and we just may need them.
  19. If we could beat Army and Rice, and if we had a 50K stadium or Texas Stadium could be unimploded, and if we were playing the Frogs tonight, we would pack the house with 50k+. But if if's and but's were....
  20. Yes, if we were going to offer an on the job training program, we needed to hire a quick learner. Not someone who takes until the 4th year to finally jettison the other high school coaches. Then again hindsight is never myopic.
  21. Injured moving furniture wasn''t he? I think Outlaw is still a bit gimpy as well, and with the injury to Breece Johnson, the lack of depth at receiver sounds like another reason that Riley should not be our starting QB until absolutely necessary. Also, Drake has been walking wounded all season and I wish they would consider moving him back to Center and bringing a fresh body in at Guard. Hard to believe we've got all of this after only 3 games.
  22. that would certainly be a nice surprise for them right off the bat, but I wonder just how many plays it would take before they blew up the pitchman?
  23. thus the multiple pick 6's thrown toward the sideline.
