  1. I see nice weather and not too much conflict other than an 8:00 Tuesday night Stars game, so I hope the students really decide to show up in force and get their money's worth tomorrow night. Any promoting of the game going on around campus, and does anyone know how well tickets are selling? I'm going to guess that we get a couple of thousand plus non-student Mean Greeners to go along with a couple of thousand plus Red Raiders, so the students are really going to be the wildcard here. I'm going to optimistically project 7K.
  2. Great to have him now, and it will be great to have him as a part of the Meangreen Nation of the future. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as our coach sometime down the road. Kind of like Bush Jr. finishing up the job started by Bush Sr. .
  3. "The Mean Green play Texas Tech on Nov. 16, visit Kansas on Nov. 19 and travel to LSU on Dec. 22. I would not be surprised to see North Texas win two of those three." I definitely like hearing that, but I can't stand the "Mid-Major" thing. It's like calling us a basketball version of 1AA, and the basketball "1AA's" of the world have proven on the court that they can match up with the"1A's" pretty damn well. Almost as insulting as the BCS fiasco we are likely about to witness, but at least in this sport they allow the lowly Mid-Majors a shot at the national championship.
  4. I was impressed with his pass to Stratford in the corner of the north endzone against Troy. Nice touch, and it required a bit of arm strength as well.
  5. Is the exhibition itself free? It seems like some have been free and some not in the past.
  6. More like cryable.
  7. Marshall, UAB, UCF, and last night's opponent all transitioned pretty well for the most part, so I guess it's one of those things that you just never know.
  8. Not USF. http://michigan-football.com/ncaa/f/sflorida.htm
  9. Most of those 14.3 must have slipped out when they saw me coming for the second half. Tough loss, but a great effort by the guys.
  10. In a nutshell, he was very positive and articulate.
  11. Hopefully Applewhite, so nobody gets the idea of hiring him here and trying to turn us orange and white.
  12. Not too long ago the idea of Obama for president or Boise or TCU in a BCS championship game was laughable, but no one seems to be laughing about those possibilities now. Meaningless.
  13. Dunbar runs wild, and we continue our miracle quest to become bowl eligible with a win over what now looks to be a beatable K-State. The ghost of Theron is now with us. NT 37 - Troy 14.
  14. Dunbar runs wild, and we continue our miracle quest to become bowl eligible with a win over what now looks to be a beatable K-State. The ghost of Theron is now with us. Us 37 Them 14
  15. "6-21 in Big 10 games, including 15-30 overall, including 2-2 to FCS schools (that's D-IA for normal people) the writing was on the wall, even if his own players expressed shock over his dismissal." You would think that a smartass writer would know the difference between the old D1A vs. the old D1AA, but I guess that is just too much to ask.
  16. Delete the thread out of respect. It doesn't take Voodoo or superstition of any sort to jinx the Rangers.
  17. RIP Coach. A great coach and a great man. Sorry he didn't get to see us go deep into the NCAAs.
  18. Hillbillies, who will be very excited because they beat up on Cajuns last week.
  19. Have any idea how quickly they typically sell out these kind of early OOC games? I'm trying to work out a road trip to Colorado shortly before Thanksgiving, and I would love to swing over to Lawrence and catch the game on the way. Probably won't know my schedule for sure until the end of the week.
  20. Here's Eastland's schedule for anyone who happens to stray into the desert this season. http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/wjUaclYMq0Gwr5e1PkMjiQ/eastland-mavericks/basketball/schedule.htm
  21. Fantastic! Now I know l will be catching one of his games on the way to Abilene next month. Great pickup!
  22. 22-24 is pretty much a traditional age`these days for college Seniors, so I wouldn't say that we are all that skewed toward older students. Hell, even Riley Dodge is a 22 year old Sophomore eligibility wise. Don't know where he is academically.
  23. One of the saddest terminations I've witnessed, because I know he gave it his best, but it was just one of those things in life that didn't work out.
  24. Would LOVE to have him on the staff, but based on his resume, I'm not sure if I would want him as HC this time around. Certainly worth looking into though.
  25. Bring him on. Along with everything else that he brings, the publicity would be great. I've met his son and he seems like a good guy.
