  1. I think I would rather have Canales. Maybe RV has told him that it's his job IF he closes Fouts with a win?
  2. I suspect that Romo will be playing golf and running his national chain of pizzarias by then, but everything else is kind of up in the air. Hope you're right though.
  3. Wonder if we have a winning record at Fouts? It looks like it's pretty close at a glance, but I'm too lazy at the moment to calculate backing out the Irving/Dallas home games and such. Sadly, I guess I'm going to have to figure out a new GMG handle after this Saturday.
  4. I can't really put my finger on exactly why, but Tristan and JJ's teams are notoriously slow starters. I was hoping that this year would be different after the big win on Tuesday. It's really important that we don't experience a Kansas hangover effect against Rice, because we've got a boatload of very winnable SWAC and SLC games coming up. Hopefully those games can help us come together enough to be ready for conference play and also pull off a big win down in Baton Rouge.
  5. It's hard not to agree with that, but I can't say I was unimpressed with Josh's performance against TT. Josh can be incredible one night and kind of disappear the next. I guess it's up to JJ to figure out how to work that equation.
  6. Hope not. This is one that I would like everyone to forget real soon.
  7. I didn't see the game, but it sounded as if their philosophy after halftime was to isolate their 3 point shooters on Josh and Dom. Did it look that way, or were they just knocking them in off of everyone? Don't get the Knox bashing unless it is due to the color of his skin. Sounded like he did an OK job defensively, and it's nice to get him some big time minutes since he is only a sophomore and we are likely to need his length sometime down the road. Tough loss.
  8. I agree. Why have any part in elevating them, while lowering ourselves at the same time? Maybe if the WAC goes away completely, the SBC can take their name and people will like us more?
  9. We can win this game. We need TT to come through early to take the pressure off of Josh and Dom, as well as a big game defensively from our trio of power forwards. It's doable and going to be fun.
  10. Yes, it's sad to say this early in the season, but we are only one little injury away from either ditching the three guard offense or giving walkons some serious minutes. Get well Alzee.
  11. If Presbyterian could come close to beating K-State last night, then we should be able to hold our own against Kansas. I saw 22 in the paper this morning, but I think 22 or 19 is pretty excessive and a good bet for NT.
  12. I agree. I took a couple of summer semester classes there in the 90's, and they were probably the easiest of my college experience. It seemed like less than half the class even bothered to show up on any given day.
  13. Didn't know that he was currently in law school. Don't know if it's true or not, but I had heard that he wanted to go to law school at some point, but was signing up for the MBA program down there this semester instead. Don't we still have an MBA program? Regardless, wouldn't the word in this case be "traitor" rather than "quitter"?
  14. Kind of confusing, since according to this they have only played 2 games this year. I guess McGhee is either averaging 8+ or 20+ plus per game depending on how many games played. Strange stats. http://www.njcaa.org/colleges_college_schedule.cfm?sid=4&collegeid=1441&category=Schedule&slid=2
  15. Sounds to me like he quit because he was tired of getting his butt kicked, having no life, and working 500 hours a week. Don't we still have grad school in Denton?
  16. It would be a great thing for the Metroplex, but after hearing about our crowd on Tuesday, I bet smu and TCU would be scared shirtless to let something like that get started. A frog friend of mine told me that maybe a hundred mustangs made the long trip over to Daniel Meyer the other night. Pretty pathetic.
  17. Not that I'm defending the guy because I'm no longer really that concerned with his decision to leave, but if we are fortunate to have a player who is good enough to forego his Senior season for the NFL, are we going to also ostricize him as a quitter for making a decision that he feels is in his best interest? How about Collin Mangrum? Shouldn't we start a "I hate Collin Mangrum" thread over on the BB Board? Not only did he abandon us and leave us with little experienced depth in the backcourt, but he is now playing for what most on this board consider to be our most hated rival. Just saying that it's only fair that we start quitter threads for the couple of dozen other athletes who have recently abandoned us in our time of need. Vizza is not the only one.
  18. Not SBC related, but in case anyone missed it with all of the excitement going on around here, LSU lost by nine to Nichols State last night. I like the implications of that for when we play at Baton Rouge next month, but I'm not so sure I like the implications of that in regard to possible coaching changes next year.
  19. "Even teams from the smaller conferences have players who are good enough to play anywhere" FU Knight Light. Sorry about my sensitivity, but your condescension will get you nowhere!
  20. Yeah, the Big 12 invite and Leach fed the egos of those desert bugs beyond belief. Glad we put them back in their place tonight, and I hope that EVEN MORE, the desolate destination of Lubbock will be considered the school of last resort for students in this state who reside in and around the area east of I-35.
  21. Great job, SERIOUSLY! Let's hope that we can all keep this up! Winning is fun, NO?
  22. I hate treating a win over TT like we just beat Duke, N. Carolina, or KANSAS, but I just can't help but love it! Great job by EVERYONE involved tonight, and I truly hope that this is just the beginning! BEAT KANSAS!!
  23. From what little I've heard, Alzee's situation doesn't sound too good. Anyone know Spencer's status? Both those guys made nice contributions during the second half of last season, and we sure could use Spencer's bulk against the big twins this Friday night.
  24. Hope you're right. Stillwater may be an easier drive than Lubbyuk, but a pretty hefty percentage of Lubbyuk grads end up living around here. I think we'll whip 'em on the court, but we may need a huge student turnout to whip 'em in the stands. Huge game for the program. Especially when you consider where we have to play on Friday.
  25. I agree that he's a little light in all of those categories, but if he changes his mind and works on his body, I certainly wouldn't mind having him compete with Hamilton and Byrd two years from now. With the Riley friendship connection, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
