  1. On the bright side, at the very least we're forced to win that first tourney game to get to that magical 20 win season we are always so proud of. On the other hand, if we lose the next two as expected, I'm afraid that the 20 win Karma may finally abandon us.
  2. I thought Edwards was gone for the year? Hope he can contribute here down the stretch.
  3. Not sure anyone deserves a seed period.
  4. Damn, Theron is even more pissed than I thought.
  5. Time for her to go. We need every edge we can find to have a chance at moving up the conference ladder, and when it comes down to decision time, not having a decent WBB program could end up being a significant strike against us. You never know.
  6. We've had long layoffs, and we consistently are losing both halves of games. I don't see "tiredness" as an excuse for what we have been seeing out there. If we were kicking butt early, and then running out of gas at the end, then maybe a lot of it could be blamed on depth and "tiredness," but I'm not really seeing that. It's beyond me what has happened here.
  7. We beat Rice pretty handily, last night Rice blows out a pretty good Memphis team, and we get whipped AT HOME by the worst team in the SBC. Something's just not right here. Don't get it.
  8. Wish I had seen something to like since way back when he was in high school. Hope he gets healthy one way or another.
  9. I'm happy about his 6 boards, since the little guys aren't going to get too many and they have to come from someone besides the Bigs. Not too happy though that the Jags shot 57.1%. Improved effort, but teams are still finding it way too easy to score on us. Especially in transition.
  10. I agree. It would help that 1/3 of our schedule next year is against schools that the national media considers "real teams" because of conference affiliation and such, and he would need to tear it up against those "real teams."
  11. Did you pull out a tape measure? If he's a legit 6'9" people would likely be calling him 6'10". Sure hope he has grown as you say, because I do believe that he wears a cape on the court and can leap tall buildings in a single bound.
  12. With the recent emergence of Holmen, I've got no problem at all with that starting lineup if TT and Holmen can be convinced to play a little more defense. It gives us more size, better assist potential, and hopefully a little more punch with Josh coming off the bench. Certainly worth a try.
  13. I definitely don't see George as selfish, but I do wish we could see more hustle out of him down low. Nobody seems even slightly hesitant to take it to the hole against us, and the only guy lately that we have who is even close to an intimidator is an undersized hustling Hogans. I haven't given up, but our five Seniors are going to have to turn this thing around real quick.
  14. Unless we win out in Hot springs I almost hope we don't. Kinda tired of 20 wins being our brag rag around here.
  15. Sorry, but I don't believe the 4,252? number unless a thousand+ left before I arrived at the 10 minute mark of the first half. Absolute HELL getting there on 35E, but luckily most weren't smart enough to take the side road after Lake Dallas or we would never have gotten there. Yes we sucked in so many ways, but at least the two for twenty ribs and margaritas after the game were good, the ride home was smooth, and I don't have to work tomorrow. I really am kind of pissed at our effort tonight, but I don't really have the energy to elaborate on it at the moment. A bad night for the Mean Green, and time is now getting short for that to change.
  16. I'm about to head out with one other from around the DFW Airport area. Hope it's not too bad since I want to stop and eat first. Hear of anyone offering free meals/drinks due to the weather?
  17. So how do we get the word out about the "free lunch" to the denizens of Denton? It would be nice for the locals to get a taste of something that they might decide that they enjoy. For a city this size, we ought to be getting 1-2K of non-UNT affiliated fans every single game that we're putting a quality product on the floor. It's no longer a little podunk town (pardon me) like it was a quarter century+ ago. It's now an emerging big city outer ring suburb, and it's about time that it started to act like one. FILL THE SUPER PIT!
  18. Probably because I think additional butts in the seats is probably more important to our program than our losing a net of a few hundred dollars. Of course we would have to quickly find a way to get the word out to the "cheapos" around town who are probably looking for an excuse to get out of their frozen houses for a little entertainment.
  19. It's more about direct sunlight and traffic to break it all up more than anything. I think we'll be OK, but free admission or dollar day sounds good to me.
  20. Hope not. Probably not much potential for him to be safety material if it is. Four year starter is impressive.
  21. Can't argue with that, but on the other hand we might not be having the FAB FIVE (SIX) coming in next year to save the day. On the other, other hand, who the Hell knows. Let us just hope that this team can get its stuff together and win in Hot Springs. If we can, it may very well end up being another "KState like" butt whipping experience in the 1st round, but that's better than nothing. These Seniors are too good to let this season go down the tubes without a fight.
  22. I suspect that any dreams of an automatic bid went out the window with our loss to 4-16 Troy. That would be 3-16 if you take out their big victory over Huntingdon College, and 2-16 if you take out their thrashing of North Texas.
  23. Thank God we don't play the Henderson States and Camerons of the world on the road, since everyone but LSU seems to be a matchup problem for us away from home. Wouldn't expect this from a group of guys who have been playing together for so long.
  24. I think Holmen now qualifies as a decent contributor so I would say we have 7. After that we are in trouble since Edwards has done nothing. Knox is capable of some decent defensive contributions, but he is still clearly a project.
  25. Hope Jimmerson continues our long run of exceptional running backs here at North Texas. Have to admit that DD and TD consistently brought in some great RBs during their tenures, and I hope that McCarney is doing the same.
