  1. We need baseball more than we need this.
  2. Here's his speech, it's 20 mins long, but worth the time.
  3. Instead of giving tickets away to every elementary student why not get in touch with just the pee wee leagues around here? I'm sure those coaches would love to bring their kids to a FBS game in a new stadium. It might not be the best idea for a Tuesday night game that starts at 8 PM, but if we're going to give tickets away, I say give them to the kids who will probably want to be there and could possibly convince their parents to come back.
  4. Honestly, I am continuously embarrassed by about 1/4 of UNT students. I don't care either way, nor do I care about gay marriage I think it's inevitable but good grief some of these kids need to find hobbies besides protesting literally everything that remotely offends them on campus.
  5. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4695886/cowboys-without-20-players-vs-chargers
  6. I'll go with who I thought would be the best DB of the freshmen, Devante Davis. I fully expect Davis to be starting after a couple games this year (a la Warner) hopefully Warner gets a redshirt and we'll have two beastly soph. cornerbacks in 2013.
  7. IMO it is not worth the price. Great service, but if you're just looking for TV DirecTV is comparable for much less.
  8. Scout evaluated a couple more commits and bumped Ellis up to a 3* #101 OLB They also gave Harrison Sorge 2* and ranked him 80th among OG while bumping John Schilleci down from #110 CB to #131 for some reason. http://northtexas.scout.com/a.z?s=353&p=9&c=8&yr=2013
  9. Tevinn Cantly 96 yard INT return for TD.
  10. We are going to lose 2 starters after this season right? Hopefully he will want to reunite with Ellard. I'm pretty sure Trinity has a couple studs on their D-line too although we're probably not on their radar.
  11. 247 updated their rankings and now have both Sed Ellis & Calvin Minor as 3* players. Granted, it's a new rating system I guess since it's called 247 Composite ranking now. Surprised Dajon Williams has not received a ranking. Maybe Rivals will give him 3 stars. I think the #1 player on Mac's board right now is Will Earley who's a 3* CB on all three services and was at the Friday night lights event. I think we could see some higher caliber players commit if we start the season 3-2 and can carry momentum in to sun belt play.
  12. I played right down the road 5 years ago, we had a turf field. In case you didn't know, those tiny black pellets in the turf get really, really hot. My sophomore year our DC brought out a thermometer and it was 126 on the turf. Those pellets get hot enough to melt the bottom of your cleats.
  13. The thing I noticed about MT more than anything last season, especially watching their game @ Vandy was their depth. Looking at this roster you have ten players who could potentially start or get significant minutes on most sun belt rosters, that's impressive. Having that kind of depth will be key on the off chance that TM/JW/CJ/Alzee can't supply the majority of the scoring. I am equally excited for basketball as I am for football, I don't think I was this excited even last year and I only missed a few games. We are absolutely loaded, can't wait to see the schedule.
  14. I think he means this will be the best team he has seen in person. I really doubt he means best team ever.
  15. It would be a minor miracle if this kid landed here. I don't know what level he plays at in Florida, but the kid can ball I don't know if I've seen a more impressive high school safety prospects highlights.
  16. I'm not trying to be negative here, just something I noticed on rivals. We are ranked #73 so far with zero 3* commits. In fact, we are one of 4 schools without a three star commit. Maybe they will rate Williams high but we desperately need a winning season this year to turn the tides in recruiting. Hopefully we can catch Houston off guard and gain momentum from there.
  17. This is a good sign. Two area top 100 players and we're not even halfway through June. The CUSA jump hasn't changed things drastically but it certainly helps, and I imagine we'll win over a couple more recruits with impressive offer lists. Still not sure how Tulane is dominating everyone in recruiting right now.
  18. NO! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Seconded, and despite his size he's back there because they know this young secondary is going to get beat by their WR often. They need a sure tackler to stop 20 yard gains from being touchdowns. I really hope DQ Johnson can come on strong in fall practice and win a corner spot. I'm sorry if this is too harsh, but I just don't have much faith in Hilbert Jackson, last season he couldn't beat out Royce Hill or Steven Ford yet Freddie Warner did. In my opinion you get Warner back ASAP, and get him back in to the swing of things rotating with Devante Davis and Hilbert Jackson while DQ Johnson Kevin Maduka and Devante Davis hold down the other spots until one of them proves to be solid. I really hope Laramie Lee is up to the challenge at the safety spot. Unless these freshman can contribute in a meaningful way, it will be a repeat of, oh, the last 7 years. I think it was 2005/2006 where we had a roster completely loaded with underclassmen, and everyone expected 2007/2008 to be the years we came back. Throwing the kids in to the fire early works out one way or the other. I hope it works out for the better, and continuity with the young secondary players moving in to CUSA will be an advantage. That will be a nice chance of pace.
  20. Looking ever farther into the future CURRENT C- tony Mitchell (SR) Kieth Coleman (SO) Niko (SR) PF- Tony Mitchell (SR) Jacob Holmen (Sr) Niko (SR) SF- Jacob Holmen (SR) Jordan Williams (SO) Clarke Overlander (FR) SG-Alzee Williams(will be SR) Brandon Walton (SR) PG- Chris Jones/(SO) Trey Norris(SO) Hardwick(FR) Next year C- Coleman/Casimiro/Tony Nunn PF- Anthony Norris/Casimiro/Tony Nunn SF- Jordan Williams/ Clarke Overlander SG- Chris Jones? Trey Norris? Clarke Overlander? PG- Chris Jones? Trey Norris? PJ Hadrwick Hopefully we land a true shooting guard and another player in the 6'6-6'8 range to play the 3/4. Even without Tony if Coleman comes along, this team will be scary for the next three years.
  21. Another thing to take in to account is that rankings of players are dependent on their offer list, not rivals evaluators' opinion. Players can slide or go from 2* to 4* depending on who has offered. 247sports is the only website that does not do this. They stick by their evaluations. By the way, how do we not have an established recruiting website on either Scout, Rivals, or 247? I know there wouldn't be a huge demand and massive subscriptions, but most programs like ours have at least one dedicated site on either Scout or Rivals.
  22. I wonder if maybe they see a player who projects at DT in one of these 4 o line commits all at least 6'5 260+. Given their height, probably not but maybe one of these big bodies can also play DT, that would be great.
  23. He was off at one point and put back on recently.
  24. So this is 7 or 8 commits + 2 transfers who might count toward this total. I know we're under the limit, but I think we only have like 12 scholarship senior players this year. I wonder how much under the limit we are and whether or not this will be a class of 20+ players.
  25. Do we grab Perry with the 24th pick?
