  1. So what if CUSA is down this year and the sun belt is up? It's only one year(that's only 20% through BTW) we're moving in to a conference with better recognized programs who we will be proud to be associated with. Look at CUSA recruiting compared to the sun belt thus far, CUSA gets first pick at who the AQ teams pass over and a few here and there with impressive AQ offer sheets. The sun belt has to pick from what CUSA passes over for the most part and I don't expect that to change because the sun belt has played 3 weeks of decent football. ULM is not going to pull in a top 50 recruiting class even with their success, Tulane is doing just that without any marque win. We will have a better chance at success in CUSA, end of story.
  2. Agree, I shut it off after ten minutes.
  3. Taggart-Christobal-Blakeny-Hudspeth-Malzahn Once they leave, the sun belt will stop playing above it's limit.
  4. Clayton house
  5. DT was a leader out there tonight, he managed a great freakin game. He was able to diagnose their (admittedly) soft coverage all night, but he only missed a couple times, that's the key. DT has what? 13 starts under his belt now, and the potential for 23 more before he leaves here, I wouldn't write him off as an "average" quarterback just yet.
  6. That's pretty good, if you have ten minutes to spare this meltdown is atleast equally as good. Following Michigan State blowing a 17 point lead to Notre Dame in 2006. It gets really good around the 4 minute mark. "TIMEOUTS AREN'T LIKE CELL PHONE MINUTES, THEY DON'T CARRY OVER!!!!!!"
  7. K State 34 UNT 20
  8. Also, for what it's worth ESPN rated him 2* 67 Grade, #192 WR today http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/121850/darvin-kidsy They have D. Williams 40 listed at 5.14? Is that correct?
  9. Here's an update on Darvin Kidsy. I couldn't find any stats but he did return a kickoff for a TD. http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/west_university/sports/colbert-lancaster-lead-lamar-past-elkins/article_a751fec4-f8b2-11e1-95e8-0019bb2963f4.html "Down 16-7 with 3:57 left in the first half the Knights’ Ashuris Eady-Amin returned a conversion attempt 97 yards to two points, followed by an 86-yard touchdown return on the ensuing kickoff by Darvin Kidsey to pull within one point after a missed point-after kick."
  10. We really can't afford any more losses like this with McCoy & Phillips banged up. I feel like we have finally built some depth on that side. Who gets more playing time now? Sashington? Lajaylin Smith?
  11. This seems like it would have been win-win-win for the Cowboys if they could have signed him to a one year deal. He gets to come home, play with a contender, and the Boys would get a solid interior lineman to buy time until the draft. If the Patriots were unwilling to send him to Houston, why not Dallas?

  13. LOL I don't care what anyone says about our student body, atleast they don't come to football games in bow ties. Mother of bear SMU, mother of bear.
  14. How quickly everyone forgets the Troy game last year and the three or four passes he threw that were just incredible(The Ivan Delgado in the very back of the endzone TD comes to mind) I think he got frustrated early and it showed. He has shown he can be good at times, he just needs to be consistent.
  15. The students that showed up tonight were pumped! I was amazed by how many knew players names including new guys like Trice, Akkune, Jimmerson etc. It was a nice change from the usual 3 hours of negativity. If we can get on a roll and come in the Tuesday night game against ULL at 4-2 I have no doubts the students will show up in droves. They're ready to see a winning product on the field.
  16. 20k maybe, student side is pretty full alumni side looked pretty bad.
  17. Having him on the scout team will do wonders for preparing for what we'll see aginst ULL & ASU this year. There's another positive, GMG.
  18. Perhaps the coaches know something with the clearing house we don't? Regardless, him enrolling now and having that extra time to learn the offense will pay dividends. HUGE GET.
  19. I just want the fanbase to return to the way things were in 2004, when bowl games & winning seasons were expected, not wished for. I'm confident that a winning season this year and a bowl game plus the move to CUSA could help us substantially against the CUSA west schools that have been killing us this year(Rice, Tulane, LT)
  20. This hit was #9 on sportcenters top ten today by the way. It might have been sportscenter or college football live not sure.
  21. Here's the real question: Will fans be in meltdown mode if we lose to Houston? I don't know how good TSU is but a loss like this will either break your team or make it much stronger. I hope we don't run in to a pissed off Houston team that's gained momentum a couple weeks from now and lose the game by a big margin. The sun belters would have a field day with that one.
  22. I've got a strong Kool aid buzz but just looking at the numbers the secondary played exceptionally well yesterday. It just looks we're better as a whole this year with 4 new players this year, that doesn't happen often. I was weary of Whitfield coming in to this game to be honest, I hold Mac's word in high regard but I was still worried Whitfield would have his confidence shaken against such high caliber players. I wasn't concerned with Whit getting beat deep but more so how he would do tackling in the open field. Landry is a 5* WR and he took him down a couple times, I think we have a player for the future here. Jackson obviously looked good too, all of these things are encouraging because we still have Warner who's a sophomore and if these guys can hold up we can redshirt him which I think is the best option at this point because we would get Warner/Whitfield for the first 3 years of CUSA. Aside from the secondary play I really liked what I saw out of the young guys on defense. Polk(FR) Akunne (SO) Mason (SO) were all impressive and on one kickoff I saw Mike Marshall 10 yards ahead of every other mean green player. That kid has some speed I believe we're going to have a solid defense we can be proud of these next few years with so many young guys getting reps.
  23. Mitchell and Coleman will be tested early, Mcdermott is as good as they will see in college basketball. This is a great game to have on the schedule, a very good opportunity (like St. Joe's) to get a solid W for our RPI. I'm sure their fans will be singing a different tune after the game, win or loss they'll know we were a quality team.
  24. Holy cow this is a young team. I'm excited though because we could be pretty special in the front 7 in 2013 after these young guys get even more experience as depth players this year. The front 7 will have a plethora of experience with Sarge-Abbe-Boutwell-Bellazin/Dilonga on the line & Akunne-Orr-Wright at LB next year with multiple 3 year starters. I sincerely hope that a couple of these young corners will be able to establish themselves this year in spot time. The defense is going to need a big year from Laramie Lee and the corners we really need one of these guys to pull a Freddie Warner and come on strong after a couple games adjusting to the speed.
