  1. Called an excellent game tonight and has turned out to be a fantastic hire. I won't bog you down with stats the proof is in the pudding. I haven't seen a thread complaining about arm tackling once this season. That was a HUGE problem just a couple years ago. The defensive staff has done a solid job of putting these guys in the right position and letting them make plays. We have only allowed 17 total points in the last 8 quarters against two solid opponents. Skladany deserves a lot of credit for the progress we have seen defensively. 4. Next year when there's a bunch of RS SO/RS JR players out there we'll all be saying just wait till 2015. The cycle never ends.
  5. 20-34 I guess we underestimated the losses of Fortenberry and Power.
  6. When Mac was hired he emphasized playing disciplined football and winning the TO ratio. What happens when a team beats your ass doing just that in year 3? This is the kind of loss that breaks a team. We are going to have to play lights out to have a chance against MT and if we lose that game we are 2-4 (0-2) and sinking quickly.
  7. 2011 @ FIU 41-16 (L) @ Ala 41-0 (L) @ Tul 41-24 (L) @ ULL 30-10 (L) @ ASU 37-10 (L) @ Troy 38-33 (W) 2012 @ LSU 41-14 (L) @ KSU 35-21 (L) @ FAU 20-14 (W) @ UH (L) @ MT 38-21 (L) @ ULM 42-16 (L) @ WKU 25-24 (L) 2013 @ UGA 45-21 (L) @ Tul 24-21 (L) That is 2-13 folks. There is no excuse for a loss like this.
  8. Must have sports package to watch game on Directv.
  9. I really doubt there will be a working link for this one, I hope so but I doubt it.
  10. Their front seven save for the Nose is pretty undersized and I would hope that leads to more open running lanes. Do they run the 3-3-5 as their base set? Maybe I am just reading the chart wrong but the 3 linebackers range from 190-210 lbs. and the extra OLB/DB is 190 as well. We need to run the ball and use our size at OL & TE to win this game, end of story. I'm not sure the passing lanes are going to be there the way the were against Ball State & Idaho.
  11. Commits to Tech We still have a shot at this JUCO OL, recently rated a 4* by 247sports. http://247sports.com/Player/Corey-Clements-34229
  12. Hahaha. How is that even remotely relevant? Who cares about all of this anyways, all republicans & democrats are crooks and the sooner you realize it and quit paying attention to things like this the better off you will be.
  13. There are an abundance of double digit victory predictions, I think that if we win it will be by a slim margin. They have good players on both sides of the ball, a few of them were players we recruited heavily and missed out on.
  14. The worst part of the thread title is it could pertain to so many things UNT football other than attendance. We have a long way to go.
  15. How many true freshman does Tulane have playing? That 2013 class they put together was quite impressive. Anyone seen Royce LaFrance out there?
  16. Up to five offers now from UNT, USF, Texas Tech, Memphis & ECU. His updated 247 page listed us, Tech & Memphis as warm, USF & ECU as cold.
  17. Wow, we bitch a lot about how thin the DL is but next season we're going to be even thinner and that's hard to comprehend. I guess we'll plug in Austin Orr for Abbe (-50 lbs) and Lincoln for Boutwell (+20 lb.) and hope that by some miracle a combination of Haboul, Sir Calvin, Dutton Watson and Syd Moore will form a formidable rotation inside. I'm not writing off the young guys but it could be a while before we see another all conference player at DT.
  18. I was shocked he was retained after last year. I was even more shocked when there was an article released over the summer where he talked about how much his wife influences the football program(I mean recruiting and day to day things, not raising money or things you would expect a coach's wife to be doing) and in the same article he admits to "star gazing" from the recruiting website. I'm sorry but if my coach admits he has let Rivals evaluations have an affect on who he recruits I would want him gone instantly. Not that Rivals is so incredibly wrong, but that just blew my mind reading that. I'd like to add I absolutely love it. And I love it even more than Aggie is the dominant program in 2013 and looks to be going forward.
  19. I'm glad a lot of our coaching staff has remained intact but Nelson was a carryover from Dodge and I wouldn't be upset if he was let go after this year. 5 years as the DL coach and I could be mistaken but I don't think we have had one all conference player in that time.
  20. Anyone else concerned that this is still a constant in year 3? Not only is there no pressure but by the second half our DL is tired and teams start running at 5 or 6 yards a carry on us. Our DT rotation is Abbe, Lincoln, Boutwell & Orr. 3 of the 4 were signed by Dodge. Polk was signed by Mac but he is incredibly undersized. I know that Dylan Macdorman getting injured is just dumb luck, but what about Terrell Brooks? When you lose two guys who were 300+ in the 2011 & 2012 class how could signing 250 lb high school DT's be a good strategy to offset that? How do we not at least sign one JUCO DT? How do we not have some guys signed by Mac making a difference on the DL in year 3?
  21. Has anyone else noticed the extreme homerism oozing from the announcers? Not that UTSA hasn't looked impressive so far.
