  1. I am not an alumni I won’t be able to access that unfortunately. I’m just a life long Denton county resident who picked UNT as my team at 14.
  2. I didn’t make this post to be patted on the back or anything. Just for reference I’ve been to I don’t know how many home games since 2004. I was there for the 7 OT game at Fouts and stayed until the bitter end, I was there when apogee opened, I was there for the stand against Rice, I was there for a lot of Litrells early success. Life has prevented me from attending games the last few years. I am well aware of the fact that I need to wear green and I used to give opposing teams hell on the student side of apogee in the first couple years so I can get loud, just in a respectful way I’m in my 30s now. Looking forward to meeting some of y’all I had no idea about umbrellas and clear bags I appreciate it.
  3. I decided to finally put my money where my mouth is and get season tickets. I am in section 208 row 15 is anyone close to me is there anything I should know?
  4. Money matters so props to SMU for using that to their advantage, we all want a seat at the table and they appear to be getting it. I still can't help but laugh at the thought of a Florida State fan scheduling a trip to Dallas and watching a football game in a stadium with 13.5k fans.
  5. Well, we averaged 33.8 points per game last season, which was 28th (8th highest among G5 schools) while giving up 31.7 PPG (110th) and we won 7 games so I think that's entirely possible.
  6. 2017- 35.0 PPG allowed (111th) 2018- 24.2 PPG allowed (43rd) 2019- 32.5 PPG allowed (105th) I'm not saying a three man front can't work here but it really was only 2018 when we had success with it. Six starters on that 2018 defense ended up at least getting a cup of coffee in the NFL. The 2018 defense forced 22 turnovers against the 2nd weakest strength of schedule in FBS and we were exposed by Utah State. I believe the defensive coaches know what they're doing, I think the scheme from ISU is likely way better than the one Reffett ran I just don't believe we will give us less than 30 PPG this season.
  7. I don’t think so, he moved the ball well enough and made throws across the middle. The point I was trying to get across was he showed he’s capable of both moving the ball and making something happen when the play breaks down, he was pretty accurate in my opinion. I will say I’m not a HS football coach or anything there are people on this forum who know football better than me that may have a different assessment. Im excited to see Logan Wilson Phil Hill and Nakwaasah playing safety. Im not saying any of those guys will be all conference but it’s been a decade since that position has been a strength maybe they make enough strides to where that’s the case this year. I could be wrong but I think I saw #98 and #35 Chris Wright taking second team snaps on the DL with #9 Enoch Jackson inside. Kagden Roach and Vailea both rotated in with 1s and 2s. #22 Matthew Moore and #24 Juco signee Chavez Brown at second team LB as well. I didn’t pay attention to the corners all that much that’s all I can remember. I recorded 5 or 6 snaps on my phone but I don’t know if putting a video up of any of our plays on this forum two weeks before the season starts is a good idea or even allowed.
  8. QB- Stone Earle (#3) is your QB. He made one incredible play scrambling and throwing a 30 yard TD across his body right before he went out of bounds. Later on he made a truly remarkable play throwing a 50+ yard TD after escaping the pocket scrambling to his left. I feel bad for Rogers, it's not like he did anything bad tonight, Earle is just the guy. RB- We already know about the big 4. Farrar got plenty of reps and showed his patience and shiftiness, good player and his deceptive size helps him. WR- Trey Cleveland is impressive, hopefully he can fill a good bit of the void Shorter left behind. Maclin/ Burns will be good, Ward/Horton/Jordan Smart should all get plenty of snaps. Landon Sides flashed a little as well and got time returning kicks. OL- First unit looked solid enough, #67 Miner had a couple big blocks including one straight up pancake of #94 Marcus Moore. 2nd team RT Larry Brown looked really good, a little back story about him: At Tech Matt Wells wanted to switch him to DL, then the new coach swapped him back to OL and he lost valuable practice time during spring training one of the years he was there. When he transferred here this year he dropped a weight on his foot and again missed valuable practice time. He is just now getting a bunch of reps at his natural position and should something happen to Duncan we are in very good hands. The big kid from Ohio (404 lbs) looked more nimble than I expected for the 3's. DL- We are extremely undersized for a 3 man front and I am genuinely worried. I saw the guy we made a priority to sign from JUCO #94 Marcus Moore get flatlined and pushed around on several other plays. If one of Mazin Richards or Brown go down for an extended period we are going to be in a world of hurt. The second unit did little to inspire me. We don't have experienced linebackers to count on to fill the gaps this is a big concern to me, maybe other posters aren't as doom and gloom about this position as I am but this is not a strength in my eyes. LB- Lots of young and green players getting playing time. I like their hustle, I think Wesloski has got something, I'm going to wait and reserve judgement until we play but if I had to guess this will be a maddening group with some blown coverages and mistakes who is hopefully rounding in to form during the second half of the season. DB- I think both Nakwaasah and Phil Hill have got something. Surprised at the length and athleticism of some of these guys. Loved the leadership I saw from this group. *Just my opinion, I am not an expert.
  9. The FCS teams do not matter to me at all, I will take an easier W early in the season every year. This obviously isn't the pick of the litter for G5 teams to sign home and homes with but I would imagine the conference switch messed things up considerably. It is what it is, we should be able to win every one of these games you can't argue with that.
  10. The only thing in my post you disputed was how much time you put in to this by using a phone instead of a computer. Damn.
  11. You've been doing this for years. There is no way you have a girlfriend or wife, or I guess boyfriend in your case. If you're doing this on multiple forums you're putting hours and hours of your life in to this. If I had to guess there's not a lot of happiness in your real life and this is a way for you to fill that void. That's pretty pathetic, may god have mercy on your soul and I hope you seek help.
  12. The only year we had a good defense during Littrells time we ran a 3 man front. I’m not saying it’s that simple but I’m hoping we can be top 80 in scoring defense I think that’s possible. I wish we had Ejiya Tyreke Davis Kemon Hall and Brooks back this season.
  13. Can't wait for the nutrition staff to put together a unique diet for him to shed his bad weight. Can't wait for the training staff to put together a custom workout for him to develop athletically. Can't wait for the OL coach to put hundreds of hours in to develop him as a football player. He will start as a sophomore, earn 1st team All-AAC honors, look like our first first round pick in 50+ years with his size only to transfer to a P5. College football in 2023.
  14. You guys may very well buy yourself in to the PAC but I took particular joy in seeing twitter posts from the Highland Park Hand Humpers loyal who actually believe you will stop playing in front of 15k crowds if the opponent is Cal and not East Carolina. I'm aware our attendance sucks for student body size, fair, but I'm not delusional enough to think switching to the PAC would change that.
  15. He's added a few FBS offers. His tape doesn't jump off the screen, his production wasn't off the charts, but he sheds blocks well, technique can be spotty but when he puts it all together on some plays you can see why teams like him. Really hoping we land him, especially if his listed measurables are correct.
  16. I expected more I will be honest. I have no idea what we're offering when it comes to NIL but I would assume that is what's holding us back. I think if we had made the same investment in recruiting staff size about 10 years ago we would have seen the results I thought were possible. I thought Coach O alone would bring in at least 1 very highly rated player based on what I was told about him. I'm not doggin anyone, coaches or commits, I just expected more to this point and that's probably on me for unrealistic expectations. I will say having ten commits with ZERO being OL/DL reminds me of the Dodge days and that's scary. Concerns me we will continue to struggle to recruit high school DL players as we did in the Littrell era.
  17. Funny, that's how I would describe an adult who willingly spends his free time posting on forums for teams he's not even a fan of. You've posted here 346 times, and 346 times no one has given a douchebag what you had to say. Why don't you go fornicate with the highland park hand humpers?
  18. I made a post last season about how loaded the sophomore class was, how many of them had flashed already and how much I was looking forward to them progressing. So many of those guys transferred. Gone are the days of getting excited about a strong class and what it could be once their seniors. It's a season to season league now, putting all that time in for a high school recruit, making a plan for their development, seeing them have success only to leave you high and dry after two seasons doesn't seem worth it.
  19. A backup who signed with ASU last season when they were losing all 4 starters in the secondary and still didn't crack the two deep. What about the WR who averaged ~50 yards receiving per game at an FCS school we got last week? Aren't yall fired up? I won't be as pessimistic as I was at the end of the Littrell era but I reserve the right to be critical about the fact that other than a handful of recruits so far, it's more of the same from the Littrell era, we are hoping their evaluations are correct and they're better at finding diamonds in the rough than other staffs..
  20. Exact quote from a multi year starter on your defense to a P5 transfer on a visit this past December who would end up signing with another P5 school "We didn't see a dime of that 36,000 per player last season if I were you I wouldn't come here, I'll trade spots with you" Seems like ya'll still need to iron the kinks out of your plan to buy success
  21. Man I was hoping the complete lack of any access to practice would change with a new coach. Is this really an AD policy? Because we're gonna get a whole lot of nothin over the next couple weeks, same with fall practice. There's people on this forum with more sources than our beat writer of 20+ years and the 247 coverage has dropped off considerably since Brune left. I realize we have more people on staff to create content but damn I was hoping to have a little more insight in to what's going on with the football program going forward, that's unfortunate.
  22. I think if there's any time to feel that way this is as good of an example as there can be I get it. This isn't a 17 year old backing out of a commitment it's someone who doubled and tripled down on staying here only to leave ONE day in to spring practice.
