  1. Showing interest in FW Keller Central RB Sakima (TK) Smeby. Teammate of 2014 commit TJ Tauaalo, listed at 6' 200 has been gaining interest from AQ programs recently. I really like his highlight tape. http://247sports.com/Player/KT-Smeby-44686 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3279430/sakima-kt-smeby#
  2. We're in the same boat I missed the entire first half.
  3. Has anyone been watching the feed on FIU's website? http://www.fiusports.com/Multimedia/Multimedia/LiveEvents.aspx
  4. If so this is a solid pick up. He started 6 games last season at SMU, and also played his true freshman year. He didn't reshirt there meaning he can redshirt this year and be a RS JR in 2015. Having a kid we recruited out of high school, who's also from the area, and has solid experience will help when we lose Lemon, Y'Barbo, & Johnson after this year. If this is indeed Sam Rice he will most definitely be vying for a starting spot in 2015.

  6. No idea, I just noticed him on rivals today.

  8. I'm not saying this is the problem but how long are we going to drag our feet on Mac's extension? I may be wrong here but I believe it's common for the assistants to also receive a pay bump. I sure hope this is not a case where Memphis simply pays more.
  9. I had a feeling we weren't going to be able to hang on to him for long but MEMPHIS? What's the story here?

  11. Rice is making us look like a High school JV team right now.
  12. This is pretty awesome, kudos to the athletic department for the coverage.
  13. FAU, ODU and Charlotte have done pretty well recruiting this year. That new coach at FAU is bringing in big time recruits.
  14. Both of the d lineman from Desoto are grayshirting and will count towards 2015. Any way you look at it we didn't have a class of 2014 defensive lineman verbal until Mid January when we flipped Tillman Johnson from TSU.
  15. Good luck to him. On to more pressing issues like the fact that we're only going to sign 1 high school DE and 1 high school DT who's only other offers were TSU & Utah State. In the 2013 class we signed 1 high school DT and 1 JUCO DE. I know that we have made progress in recruiting this season with the East Texas pledges, but man that's a big disappointment. In 2012 we signed 6 high school defensive lineman, two have left school (Horton, McDorman) and the other 4 haven't seen the field. It is imperative that a couple of those guys come on strong in spring ball.
  16. Here's an early list of players invited to junior day February 8th. 17. It should be noted that Gresham was recruited as a fullback by the major schools who had offered him.
  18. It would be better for SMU to get him than UTSA in my opinion. UTSA actually has a competent coaching staff that will utilize him correctly. This year more than ever we're seeing kids who had very high profile offers wait too long and then commit to smaller schools out of the blue. We picked the wrong year to have a small number of scholarships. I know there was no way for the coaches to forecast this problem but we are in a tough spot if we're having to find space for an athlete like Caleb Chumley. Here's two big guys we were in on at one point or another who are committed elsewhere. I find it hard to believe that if Cedric Johnson had a one on one with Coach Patrick we couldn't flip him from LT. Committed to La Tech today http://247sports.com/Player/Cedric-Johnson-22121 Committed to New Mexico http://247sports.com/Player/Aaron-Jenkins-28647

  20. I know this is a little late, but Cyril Lemon is predicted to be a 4th/5th rounder next year by this website: http://www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=9064 A lot can happen between now and then to move up/down draft boards, but this is a good sign. More websites will evaluate him the closer we get to next football season, it will be interesting to see what the consensus is on his draft stock. More comments on Lemon(scroll down) http://withthefirstpick.com/2013/08/19/2014-pre-season-all-small-schoolindependent-nfl-draft-prospect-team/ Listed as top 15 underclassmen for interior OL: http://gridironperspective.com/2013/10/15/2014-nfl-draft-midseason-prospect-rankings/
  21. Really though?
  22. He's right in our backyard I'm sure the coaches have had plenty of chances to evaluate him. The fact that ULM is his only offer is more telling than anything.
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if Colorado's murders go up 300%, Thefts go up 800%, Fatherless children go up 1100% and rapes up 1500% in the next 3 months. Those potheads will bring down this country I swear it.
  24. We pulled the scholarship, it's unlikely that very many of our offers out to uncommitted players are still active unless they're defensive lineman.
  25. That guy called offensive plays for a FCS team with a QB projected to go in the 3rd-4th round, maybe as high as the 2nd. He could be the next Saban, or he could be the next coordinator who moved up the food chain thanks to a special player only.
