Confirmed Derrick Shaw has left the program
ntmeangreen11 replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Umm.. their tape, their offers, the fact that both are in their last year of eligibility and we're hoping they magically make a big jump as players. Both Wheeler and Ejiya were good players year one on campus, I don't know where the thought that in year two they vastly improve comes from. I agree they both will see a lot of action but that is because we haven't signed enough defensive lineman out of high school who have panned out. Losing Shaw who I believe was projected to play inside isn't the biggest deal in the world but it's another high school DL signee who hasn't worked out. We can't keep missing at that position. -

Say we lose Hamilton or Novil for an extended time this season. What exactly is the plan because behind them we will either have sophmore KD Davis (who I feel good about) two senior walk ons (Lemasters, Linehan) an undersized LB in JR Tyreke Davis who just changed positions and a host of freshman/RS freshman who are still green because we missed and or didn't sign enough front seven guys in 2016/2017. This is alarming to say the least, we could very well be getting pushed around up front in addition to getting torched by backfield passes this season. I knew we would take a step back defensively now I'm starting to worry it will be worse than that. -

So we are down to 11 defensive lineman including incoming freshmen aside from Demeco Rowland and not including David Sow by my count? Seniors - English, Sa'afi, Hamilton, and Mcmillan. I know there were good comments from our DL coach about this group this spring but I'll be very surprised if anyone besides Hamilton makes an impact this year out of this group. We REALLY need someone besides Hamilton to play well this year. IMO Mcmillan and Sa'afi were depth signings last year I don't see them magically becoming much better players and we all know about the injury history of English. Juniors - Pichon(transfer not on scholarship to my knowledge) Colvin, Novil. Colvin played a backup role and Novil played quite a bit, hopefully Novil putting on a bunch of weight and moving inside won't hurt him as a player. Hopefully Colvin makes a big jump in his second year of FBS football. Sophomores - ??? Freshmen - Jimmy Walker, Leblanc (RS) Jake Jones (RS walk on) Kenneth Dotson. Both Walker and Dotson are solid players, I wish we had the luxury of reshirting those guys but maybe one of them is ready to play this fall. Maybe I am missing someone but that's a pretty thin group that will be even thinner next season, combine that with the loss of Fine Bussey etc on offense and 2020 could be rough. -
I think Addaway will play, especially since he was here for spring practice and has a leg up on the rest of the freshman. I just hope if any of these guys play it's because they earned it and not out of necessity. I'm glad we signed a lot of linebackers but I hope only one or two of them are playing this season. We all remember how running backs in the passing game destroyed us in 2017, I don't want to see a repeat. I did not realize only 3 freshman played last year, that is a whole lot of depth moving forward. Hopefully a couple of the DL players we redshirted make a big jump. Also I'm very happy we finally have someone running our 247 page they have been pumping out some pretty awesome content. Hope you guys have subscribed so it will continue.

What do you get out of trolling multiple message boards as you have admitted to in another thread? You spend hours perusing different forums trying to get a rise out of G5 schools fans and you don't think your wasting valuable time you have on this planet? Why not use your trolling powers where they are suited best on twitter against hardcore republicans or democrats where you can easily get a reaction out of people? When is the last time you were laid? Do you have a micropenis? When you look down do you see said micropeen or is a mountainous belly in the way? I just think...you know... if I were to get off work, fire up the old desktop and tell my girl hold on I can't be bothered I have got to get on the Ball State football forums and tell them that their new stadium is shit and these jokers over on the UTSA board made a post about their dominant defense I have to log on and tell them the Houston defense is better I would be alone, quickly. That is a very strange habit. Maybe try some anti depressants bud

Indoor Practice Facility Photo Update

Thank you that's awesome! -
They both deserved the death penalty. One occurred a very long time ago, and the other was very recent. Admittedly I am a lot less familiar with the details of the Penn State case.
-
Maybe you missed where I said to an extent...
-
Not relevant to the topic but I will never get over what Baylor was able to get away with essentially scot-free. I can understand Penn State not receiving the death penalty to an extent since it was only a few coaches and a long time ago, but the despicable actions of the Baylor athletic department and administration absolutely merited it in this case. I would be ashamed to be associated with university in any way shape or form after that scandal.

The draft starts tomorrow and although it's unlikely we hear any of our guys names called until day 3 (if at all) we have our best shot to break the streak in a while with three players in Ejiya, Guyton and Brooks who all have late round buzz. FWIW Brooks is #229 on Pro Football Focus' big board. Guyton was one of the Raiders 30 visits, and Ejiya is firmly on teams radar. I am hoping we break the streak this weekend and hoping the cowboys don't do anything dumb like trade up or draft a RB before the fifth round. GMG!

His RAS of 9.67 is off the charts good, the same as Randy Moss and slightly above DJ Moore who went 24th last season. Edit: I can't get it to attach but here's the tweet. https://twitter.com/MathBomb/status/1112323741093191681 D2_EeXYWoAACXoN.png_large

DRC: Guyton, Ejiya shine on UNT pro day
ntmeangreen11 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Holy cow! The most bench press reps at the combine was 36. 36 reps is in the 96th percentile, Young is truly in a league of his own in terms of strength. Guyton's vertical puts him in the 77th percentile. He ran a 4.37 and a 4.42 40, let's just call that a 4.1, which would put him in the 83rd percentile, his broad jump of 10-5 puts him in the 79th percentile. The bench press is only 37th percentile though. At his size and speed, maybe this doesn't get Guyton drafted but it certainly will put him on the radar of several teams and perhaps he impressed enough to warrant a late draft selection if a team feels he will be highly sought after as an UDFA. Would love to see a full list of numbers. I'm curious how Ejiya did, he was the one with the most buzz initially, I wonder if that's still the case. -
Imagine being so one sided and consumed by politics you actually are passionate and convinced humans are having no effect on the climate because the folks on fox news told you it was BS made up by democrats. The 3-4 hours of fox news ya'll consume every day is bad for your brain. The same goes for MSNBC and the democrats.

LOL alright. The four teams in the AFC and NFC championship games (KC,NE,LAR,NO) were 1-4 in scoring. Does that mean anything?
-
You just cherry picked an anomaly of a super bowl. It's the lowest scoring super bowl of all time. Never mind the ten previous where the winning team scored an average of 33.8 points per game. That one game is not indicative of the direction football has been heading in over the last decade.
-
I saw it. From the bleachers. Cool of you to assume I hadn't. I saw Rice destroy us as well. Those are extremes, those are also games that took place over a decade ago. The game of football is changing, I would still rather have an elite offense than defense, just my opinion.
-
I will take a dominant offense over a dominant defense every day of the week in 2019. I don't buy in to that like I used to when football was so run heavy. At any level, high school, college or pro.
-
Admittedly I have only started using the term yankee because it's gone out of style. Just let me fix some of those roof tiles...
-
Is the yankee who owns the IHOP by campus that won't even fix his damn roof still fighting with UNT? That place is beyond an eyesore.

If I remember correctly players have to have graduated and they get a pretty decent salary ($100k+) You have to wonder what the hell Vinny Mac was thinking bringing back the XFL. The first attempt was a colossal failure. They lost millions and at the same time saw that venture take attention and resources away from the WWF which resulted in it becoming less and less popular. Monday night raw barely brings in 2 million viewers in 2019 and has been on a downward trend for a while. I think there is definitely a market for football in the spring, something tells me this will be successfull in the long run and the XFL will be a short lived failure once again.

This is a pretty big deal, what a bummer. He did a great job for us.
-
He has to be the most successful JUCO WR we have signed in a LONG time. I know he had the pedigree signing with ND out of high school but he was a huge part of the turnaround. The 19' WR class is considered weak for the most part hopefully he tests well and makes an NFL roster next season. Thank you Jalen!
