  1. You better hope he doesn't run a 4.6 40 then, a time like that could wipe out his draft stock. He just needs to test well and I believe he is a lock for a day 3 pick.
  2. Thanks, I was somewhat correct in that we played faster but it wasn't Warriors championship era fast pace. I don't know enough about the X's and O's of basketball to say that a faster pace would lead to a better offense. I can see how a more methodical half court approach can wear on the opposing defense. Maybe we just need a little more time to gel.
  3. Am I crazy or did we play with a much faster pace and much more attempted 3s in his first couple years? The offense we are running seems ancient.
  4. Just incredibly frustrating watching this team on offense, Hamlet really needs to forcing the issue because everyone else is MIA tonight. Now starting to see the defense crack a little, with back to back unnecessary fouls yikes.
  5. I don't know what the best option for getting a quality DC is. Seths hires have been a mixed bag at best. Let's hope he catches lightning in a bottle I guess. This guy seems to check a lot of boxes, I'm not advocating for him but maybe he's worth an interview if we're not disqualifying older candidates which we shouldn't. https://gobearkats.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/clayton-carlin/770
  6. What sucks is we all know it's not going to magically get better in one off season, no matter how young we were this year. Seth is ultimately the one responsible for who we sign and how many at each position. He has to be the worst defensive talent evaluator among all FBS coaches. You can see how bad he screwed up the numbers at each position and any shot at a team with depth by looking at the 2016/2017 classes. Aside from Darden, Torrey, Tyreke Davis, and Novil (who really flamed out in the last few games) there is very little talent in the senior class. Hair-Griffin, Colvin, Pirtle, Smith, Frow, Evan Johnson are just dudes. Sanders and Cam Johnson played a lot of snaps, but they weren't very good and that's it for the senior class. I would hope both of them get their degrees and we see new players at safety next season. The junior class has 5 offensive lineman who have played a lot of snaps but KD Davis and Tre Siggers are the only others that have made an impact. Alex Morris, Greg White, Quinn Whitlock, are Chris Thornton are the other scholarship players. It's hard to imagine these guys making a huge jump in their fifth year here besides Morris who is a true junior. The reality is it's all on the young guys signed in the last three classes if we want to compete for a conference championship next season. That is where the talent is, even in a down year we've seen a lot of them flash. We should all hope they develop quickly.
  7. Ya'll are still watching? I turned it off after the run to go up 35-14. What a shitshow.
  8. We will need at least two turnovers to win this game. Like others have said I love the fight we have shown so far. But there is a lot of time left.
  9. WHAT ARE THESE REFS WATCHING??????
  10. Jesus christ that was dirty Edit: Not as bad as I thought but he still led with his helmet, that sucks seemed like we were building momentum. Double edit: I guess I am just an idiot, no targeting called.
  11. Most concerning thing about the DE play is that both redshirt freshman Kenneth Dotson and Jimmy Walker have not even seen the field to my knowledge. I have seen Tayshon Johnson, Jonathan Pickett, and Rausaw, all true freshman play snaps at diffferent points this season. We have also signed big body Juco players who are just guys to compensate. Frow, Sa'afi, Colvin etc are/were not FBS players but have the bodies to play DE in a 3 man scheme. Jury is still out on McCrae and Leblanc the sophomores, we better hope the 2020 signees have talent or it will be more of the same in the coming years.
  12. Selfish. Soft. Undisciplined. That's the motto Littrell has been saying all these years right? Surely not an acronym that spells out STD or something stupid like that.
  13. Why do we have a WALK ON FULLBACK playing linebacker in year 5?????
  14. Even when you know an ass kicking is coming it still hurts the same. For the love of God show some fight! Don't get stomped today please.
  15. Of course the defense is folding early but I will say that on the play action pass the refs missed a blatant hold on Nixon.
  16. LOL at Thompson playing WR in the bowl game, what a bad ass being able to play both positions as a true freshman. Bad miss by Bean, hope we have plans to use his legs today.
  17. Welp, hope we see the young guys flash today thats all Im looking for.
  18. 41.1 points per game playing a schedule ranked 121/127 in strength of schedule. There is no excuse for this. It's year 5 and our best pass rushers are converted linebackers who can't hold up against the run very well. And our defensive coaches admitted they didn't know they had the pass rushing ability until they were put at DE on the practice squad. It's unbelievable how bad we are defensively, even if they are young this is Ron Mendoza level coaching.
  19. That's true, but it's pitiful how easy it is to bend then you're dropping debris right by your tires everywhere you go. Full disclosure I use my diesel truck to haul a trailer and at times a pallet of shingles I would never suggest anyone buy a diesel truck just to get around town with although I see it a lot. Like others have said it's a huge pain in the rear to park, especially without a back up camera.
  20. Don't buy the newer Ford F-350s. They're basically recycled aluminum cans. My old mans truck was 60k+ and the bed around the wheel well bends easily. I have a 2013 F-350 that was has been solid as a rock and only driven Ford my whole life but I would still suggest chevy or if you can afford it GMC.
  21. The coach should be held accountable for putting him on the field after a similar incident had already occurred. Preferential treatment to good players in high school shouldn't be accepted as the norm. If I had a nickel for every time I heard about a coach letting his star player slide on punishment I'd be a rich man. When I was a sophomore we had a senior who won state in the 100m dash and was also a very good running back. But it was well known he would rather be getting high. This was tolerated because he was one of the fastest kids in the state. I dont know that giving a 17 year old kid a charge that will be on his record forever is the right call but you reap what you sow. This will follow him around for a while regardless of what happens.
  22. That was the game. Three straight easily telegraphed runs where La Tech had the advantage in terms of players in the box vs blockers. Seth is very inconsistent when it comes to play calling, that was bad.
  23. 42 points through three quarters and they are playing with a third string left tackle by the way. Any good Dion Novil did for his draft stock during the Rice game has gone down the drain over the last two games, he's non existent and has been driven downfield multiple times. Last 7 quarters on defense we have given up 84 rushing attempts for 604 yards, 7.2 yards per carry and 9 touchdowns
  24. Dayton Leblanc with the huge whiff on the 3rd and 18 then the incomprehensible late hit leading to 7 points instead of 3. It's almost as if he's just a guy who was never really worthy of an FBS scholarship but some kind of connection led him to North Texas, wonder who that was? SELFLESS.TOUGH.DISCLIPINED. STD! STD! STD!
  25. Softest, weakest defense we have fielded. Todd Dodge era defense. A 3rd and 18 draw, unreal.
