  1. They are both buttclowns. Their best coach was Spike Dykes because he understood that there are three phases to football - offense, defense, and special teams. In all the years since Spike Dykes, Tech has shared one Division title, never played in a Big 12 Championship game or shared the actual Big 12 title, nor have they been to a BCS bowl. All Mike Leach does is run off with the mouth. He'll never be a champion. No team he ever coaches will be a champion. The same will hold true for Kliff Kingsbury until he decides defense is as important, if not moreso, than offense. The big dog in Texas is Texas. Spike Dykes was 7-7 in 14 years against Texas. In the 14 season since he retired, Tech is 2-12 against Texas with their Playstation head coaches. Hell, even during Texas' down cycle from 2010-13 Tech was 0-4 against them. That includes the 41-16 mudhole stomping Texas put on them this past season when their defense leaked like a sieve to the degree that they ditched their DC after a couple of games. Sorry. I call a spade a spade. The current Texas Tech coach and Mike Leach both are nothing. They coach 1/3rd of a football game because they are arrogant and stupid. In honor of Leach and Kingsbury, Under Armor should make special clown uniforms for Texas Tech to wear for their home games, complete with big red noses and oversized shoes. Leach, Kingsbury, and Texas Tech, in general, are clowny. They deserve every bit of scorn and derision they attract as a reulst of those two buttboogers, Leach and Kingsbury. And, I'll say more!
  2. Wouldn't be shocked to see him end up at Tulsa. TU had former Sooner J.C. Watt's son and now has Darnell Walker, Jr., whose dad played at OU and in the NFL and is now a Tulsa assistant. Tulsa also offered him out of high school...and, has a need at QB. Wonder if Thompson is graduating from OU. He's been there three years; long enough to graduate early.
  3. Look...the Texas players were severly coddled by Mack Brown, okay? They were soft. Diaz walked into the middle of that. No way Mack was going to let him make too many waves. The last DC who did that was named Head Coach In Waiting, then split.
  4. He was in over his head at UT. He's fine at a mid-major.
  5. Little pom girl - also from Austin - at OU: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/hailey-halgren/86/ab2/53b Baker, Baker. Well...what's a couple of years on the bench if she says she'll be there to 'til 2016?
  6. Think we now know why Baker Mayfield went to OU despite losing his appeal: https://twitter.com/H_Halgren94/status/425652968029835265/photo/1 "Wow it's @BM_ShakeIT11" #boomsoon pic.twitter.com/tq0Gf6GWa5 — Hailey Halgren (@H_Halgren94) January 12, 2014
  7. Yep. The 'Horns have a State of Texas outline with a star to show where Austin is. Fine. They can have Austin. We should have a State of Texas, just a State of Texas, to show we own the place!
  8. Agree. We have a good one...but, boy, Akina's put a lot of kids in the league.
  9. Many 'Horn DBs in the NFL coached by Akina...who from this picture appears to be the anti-Mack Brown during games:
  10. Agree! Not only that, but Applewhite has the best knowledge of the personnel we will face in Game One this season. By the way, I'd also like to see Duane Akina on our coaching staff if at all possible. Underrated coach.
  11. What fact am I changing: Leach has no national titles or Leach has no conference titles? Oh, he shared one three ways? Wow. What dominance. In a decade, he shared, three ways, one conference title. He really has the defensive coordinators of the college football world baffooned.
  12. If offenses rule college football, where are Mike Leach's national titles? Forget that...where are his conference titles? Ditto Hal Mumme, June Jones. Sorry, but I'll puke with all of this talk of throwing the ball four yards either way of the line of scrimmage, hoping the receivers can block, and calling that offensive genius. I'd rather watch film of Roger Staubach or Terry Bradshaw dropping back, wing it deep, and completing just a shade over 50% of their passes. Run, run, run, bomb. Play great defense. Have a good special teams unit. It works.
  13. Wow. The guy is 13-38, has one winning season in four years, and gets this bump. UNLV seriously thinks they'll never find another coach who can accidentally have a winning season every four years or so? Was I asleep during the major coaching searches, because I don't remember anyone coming after this guy on the heels of his 7-6 season. Nuts.
  14. University Studies, as I understand it, is a degree cobbled together out of many different classes, all while not really declaring a major. What I've gleaned from the internets: http://bus.unm.edu/bus-degree.html http://us.tamu.edu/Undergraduate-Studies/University-Studies ... ("Dance and Sports Leadership" advisor among those who can be contact for this one at A&M) http://www.uta.edu/universitycollege/current/university-studies/index.php http://cola.siu.edu/academics/undergraduate/university-studies-degree/index.html ( "Sometimes you need room to grow in your own direction -- to learn what you want to know, to become who you want to be." Seriously? Yes. Seriously. This is proof that many schools don't give a crap just as long as your bill is paid. http://www.ndsu.edu/ndsu/academic/factsheets/univstudies/univstudies.shtml Guns up: "The choice is yours; with the B.A. or B.S. in University Studies, you can become whatever you want." Unlike those ignorant, lemming-like slobs who choose majors. Suckers! They'll never become whatever they want! My personal favorite is this one from Illinois State: "While traditional majors are the best option for most students, some students find they have explored a major or several majors and discovered those options are not a good fit for them late in their academic career." Holy crap! I've switched majors so many times in four years that I can't graduate! Mom and dad are gonna kill me when they find out I'm not graduating after four years of them paying for all of these classes. Wait! Here's a "degree" that cobbles all of these various hours together into...something. F*ck yeah! Still time left for another sixer! I'm buying! Go Cardinals...er, RedBirds! Aw, f*ck it...Go, Ohio State! http://www.wmich.edu/offcampus/program/35-General_University_Studies.html Western Michigan goes ahead and just lies to the perspective student: "Many employers are looking for a bachelor's degree, not a specific major." Now I know why so many college grads are ending up at McDonalds and Wal-Mart...they were told any old degree would do...even if it wasn't a specific major. Geez, what a hassle it is to choose a major. As an employer, here's what that says to me: this guy or gal will take the easy way out, but at least show up...and, we need cashiers! Becoming upwardly mobile will never be the goal of this applicant. Thanks, Western Michigan for the easy hire! Some schools cut it off at two years, then make you go ahead and, you know, choose a major...party-poopers: http://www.admiss.vt.edu/majors/index.php/majors/major/US Crazy.
  15. I didn't realize McNulty was transferring.
  16. As is normally the case, you make my case for me. Because they have no financial knowledge, they don't know when they are being taken advantage of. If we are going to even halfway crawl out of the economic hole we are in, the populace is going to have to be more financially savvy. I'm sorry it has to be that way. I've got a Literature degree and appreciate it. But, it does me no good in understanding finance. The business degree is what does that for me.
  17. Some can't...others won't. I think Bible probably could have; he just, for whatever reason, wouldn't. And, I think his type of bust is why Charlie Strong is in there now saying, "forget about stars" in recruiting ratings. Texas fans have for years been carried away with their signing classes. I think Strong seems like the type of coach who can tell if a player is bullshitting him - on and off the field.
  18. Yes. And, you read it here first.
  19. I'd like to add as a caveat, that it's not that the other courses aren't swell...it's just that at some point in a person's life, they are confronted with the world of finance. If I don't understand an financial contract I'm signing, it could hurt me and my family later. If I can't tell the difference between a Rembrandt and a Michelangelo, the bank ain't gonna foreclose me. It's just a matter of preparing people for the 21st Century. Again, unfortunately, the world now is punitive toward the ignorant. Although Hollywood and Pop Culture may scream at you do "do what you want" or "do what feels good to you," if you can't pay the bills or understand what you've signed, you are screwed. And, if you have kids, they are screwed right along with you. Thanks a lot, Bin Laden.
  20. SEC went 7-3 in their bowl games, and were in two of the BCS bowls, including the national title game. So, in what alternative universe does anyone think they are knocked down a peg?
  21. There are already too many law schools in Texas. And, too many lawyers. I applaud much of what we are doing at the school. This, not so much.
