TCU "shafted"? They were as crappy as Baylor when they Big 12 was formed. When the Big 12 thing went down in 1994: -Baylor had been to bowl games in three of the preceeding five seasons, and had only had four losing seasons in the 15 prior. -TCU, in the same span, had been to one bowl game, and had only posted three winning seasons over the 15 prior. So, at the time, it look like a no-brainer. And, in fact, TCU kept laying eggs until 1998. So, let's not get all crazy and pretend that 1994 TCU looked rosier than 1994 Baylor. It wasn't even close. Baylor had 11 winning season from 1980 to 1994. To get 11 winning seasons for TCU up to 1994, you'd have to reach back all the way to 1951 and start counting from then. Give me a break with the TCU business. They're lucky the Big 12 didn't take them, otherwise, they'd be in the same position Baylor is right now. Being in crappy conferences has helped TCU immensely.

The "hatred" of UT is simply: they're douchebags. Even those of us no ties whatsoever to A&M recognize that. * Texas is afraid to compete, and the Big Ten has nothing to do with it. Texas' all-time winning percentage in the NCAA Tournament is 33-31, .519. That's lower than nine of the current Big Ten schools. Only Penn State and Northwestern have worse NCAA Tournament records than Texas. The Longhorns can't even with the Big 12. They'd be hollow duckfarts in the Big Ten. * The SEC is the toughest football conference, and that's why Texas would never go there. In the 12 years of BCS football, the SEC has won half of the championships - Tennessee, 1998; LSU, 2003 & 2007; Florida, 2006 & 2008; Alabama, 2009. The SEC's television and bowl money far surpasses that of the Big 12; thus, A&M would be making more money. * A&M would be able to sell closer road games to parents of recruits than they had in the Big 12 or would have in the Pac-10. And, no one really cares what Texas does. For all of their recruiting prowess, they've only delivered three conference titles in the Big 12 - half the number as OU. Their football team, like their basketball team, folds under pressure enough to keep them from piling up even conference titles. Anyone remember losses their losses to A&M in 2006 and 2007 to deliver Big 12 South crowns to OU? Nice job for a team that annually outrecruits A&M...to not be able to beat them when it's for all the marbles. Clutch. * Texas will remain douchebags no matter which conference they join. Texas A&M will remain a school we can ignore. The bottom line on Texas is they are Class A, Numbero Uno Douchebags. They like to pretend it's pre-1975. Since 1975, they're 17-18 against Texas A&M. Big deal. The truth is, and always will be, Texas is overrated. They deserve to be in the Pac-10 with the West Coast sissy football douchesbags. I hope they go there. They've got a better chance of keeping their skirts clean there than if they stay in the Big 12 or jump to the Big Ten or SEC, where they'd be nothing more than weekly road kill.

I don't buy. The SEC has recruited Texas for decades. With very few exceptions (Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State), SEC schools recruits from coast to coast. They don't have to drop down and struggle for one- and two-star players with schools like UNT in any state.

You know what... After seeing all that is going down now, I'm convinced that it doesn't matter what we do. Oklahoma shedding conference partners it has had for over 100 years to hook up with Arizona and Arizona State says it all. And, teaming up with Texas to pressure Nebraska out first so they don't look culpable. I'd have never believed it until I saw it today. I take back every bad thing I've ever said about Rick Villareal. Building a winning program doesn't matter (just ask Missouri and Kansas State...heck, ask Boise State at this point). Loyalty doesn't matter. Geography doesn't matter. Traditional rivals don't matter. Nothing matters but TV money. And, remember, though...it's amateur, right? All for the kids' sake. I say, from here on out, screw the whole lot of the money-grubbing whores. Quit scheduling them. Let them go play with themselves. They've been trying for the better part of two decades to shed schools like us. They don't even have loyalty or concern for longtime conference mates, so they sure as hell aren't going to hold the door open for us? If we started winning, we'd just be another pain in the rear for them to deal with - like Fresno State, Boise State, and Utah before us. Few money whore schools will schedule them; they just want them to go away. Let's just win the Sun Belt this year and begin enjoying our new stadium next year. Tailgate, be happy, and forget about it. Let's just be happy with what we have.

The toughest football in the country is played in the SEC. Yes, it's the girlish Pac-10 OU and Texas run for. Pathetic. And, Texas Tech freeriding on top of it all. Disgusting.

Some people like me; other people don't. SMU had no affect on me since UNT didn't get invited to take their place in the SWC. And, the SWC paid dearly for it when it faltered and was splintered all over college football hell. You say potato, I say karma.

Maybe our fans don't understand basketball yet. Is there some class they can take on the fundamentals of basketball? Like maybe, a Basketball 101 for Basketball Fans who don't know about Basketball yet?

Just about a decade ago, we were beating Boise State and Texas Tech. Now.... Look, as many of us have said all along, you're either serious about it or you're not. For far too long, we were not. New stadium or not, the thing is so far past us now, it's hard to see a way of ever bailing out. The only way now is to just win the whole f'ing thing!

Good point with Auburn-Bama. Maybe they could make it an annual game anyway...unlike the way the Big 12 (and OU) buried the annual OU-Nebraska game. Think of this...an Auburn-Bama Championship game the week after Iron Bowl! Of all my hypotheticals that will never come true, it's the OU/A&M to the SEC I like best. Personally, though, I don't think Texas or Oklahoma really would go to the SEC or Big 10 because neither of them wants to be in a conference where they are challenged every week. Aside from money, that's a big reason those two would go Pac-10 over Big 10 and SEC. The only real traditional power in the Pac-10 is USC. In the Big 10, Texas would have to face big crowds at Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State, and Iowa (and possibly Notre Dame) year after year. OU wants no part of LSU, etc. year in and year out either. Stoops was 2-2 versus Les Miles when he was at OSU with inferior teams. No way he'd go for the SEC and facing Miles and others with equal athletes. Right or wrong, I just don't see Texas or Oklahoma jumping into a more competitive kettle.

Just a guess. My problem is, I tried to make sense of it geographically as well as taking current rumors into account. These days, though, geography doesn't seem to matter. I think the MAC, Sun Belt, Big East, ACC, and MAC stay the same.

Texas is an academic snob school, so I see them bailing to the Big 10 over the Pac-10. But, they are also the biggest money whore is college football, so I could see them spreading their legs to a Pac-16 as well.

Texas is going to go somewhere. And, they'll pretty much dictate where they'll go. I see: -Texas A&M and Oklahoma as future SEC members -Nebraska and Missouri as future Big 10 (11) members -Colorado as a future Pac-10 member The others? I haven't the foggiest clue. Texas Tech was a political hanger-on at the inception of the Big 12, as was Baylor. Baylor is screwed (spell that, C-U-S-A); Tech may get an invite to the Pac-10. Oklahoma State, perpetually all smoke and no fire on the field, could be attractive because of T. Boone Pickens' investment in both the school and its athletics. But, where? Possibly the SEC. Iowa State has a big bag of nothing to offer anyone. Like Kansas State and pre-T.Boone Oklahoma State, they were just there because they were already in the Big 8. Seriously, I see Iowa State and Kansas State having to bite hard and go down to Conference USA or the MWC with Baylor. The best future fit for Kansas seems to be the Big 10 (11), but they are never mentioned. They'd make the Big Ten an even better basketball conference, joining Michigan State and Illinois. Whatever happens, the Big 12 is finished. The only variable now is for Texas to decide what they want to do. Once they do, everyone else will depart very quickly. The problem with the Big 12 has always been Baylor and Texas Tech. If the merger had just been Texas A&M and Texas joining the Big 8, that would have been fine. But, as greedy as the big schools have become, the lure of a playoff and the TV revenue, along with the added bowl games when the stragglers of the conference hit the 6-win jackpot, made it acceptable to swallow the Bears and Red Raiders. I wouldn't cry for those ending up in the MWC or CUSA, though. I think when this whole thing is sorted out, they'll be given some sort of "in" to the BCS. Or, at least they'll be given a leg up over the Sun Belt, the WAC, and the MAC.
