Agree on the tap the brakes sentiment. I predicted we'd blow out FAU because they were had so much inexperience all around coming into the season. We scraped by them. At 100% healthy, we'd have beaten them by 20 or more. I'm happy with the win. But, FAU was not going to be a Sun Belt contender in 2010. They are in a rebuilding year, at best. Which is sad, considering they only went 5-7 with a senior-laden team in 2009. As stated before, part of the reason I believed we'd win 9 or 10 this year was that so many Sun Belt teams lost alot off their rosters. Our injuries now match about what many of them lost. And, next year, we'll be in the same boat experience-wise that they are in this year. Wins that I once thought would be easy - FAU, ULL, ASU - are going to be grinders. Hopefully, Canales continues the 50/15 run/pass ratio. The Darrell Dickey-like offense works in these circumstances.

ULL is the same way - like FAU, they graduated most of their OL and some offense weapons that will be hard to replace. I don't care if we squeeze by them as well, as long as we do. Heard on the radio during UT pregame show, Neuheisel also visited Nevada during the off-season. Last week, Stoops said it as well. All of these guys making the pilgrimage to Reno. TV guy during OU broadcast last week said 41 coaches went to Nevada this summer to pick Ault's brain about The Pistol.

Long way to go. UCLA is terrible.

I'll stick with proven D1. I admire guys like Phillips and Fuente at TCU. But, I still don't think we can gamble on an unknown entity...again.

Army's defense is good. It wasn't all that bad on 2009 either. People talk about them running the option. But, they are truly old school, combining it with a defense that can compete as well.

Or, if the coach we'd hired had won even five a season, we wouldn't even think about him.

But, they've surely cut the majority of the playbook. He's keeping Tulane honest enough for Beall to roll. We'll see if our #3 QB can do the same.
