My D-IAA Georgia Southern Eagles averaged 16,241... an off year, were hoping for 20+K next year! PS: we had 6 home games

its once again the off season and I have returned to check on the mean green and see how the new stadium is panning out. Just some more info on GSU.. looks like were upgrading our 18K seat stadium in the next two season so I am going to go ahead and cross my fingers as it being the next step for us going to I-A and the sunbelt in the next ten years. For thoes who dont know our school has been a flexbone(called the Hambone) offense for the last twenty years and were going to a spread multable set O this coming year. I hope to venture to your school early next decade and watch the green vs the blue and white eagles battle it out for the sunbelt champ. but thats just a lil dream What can we expect from the mean green in 2006?

I bumped GSU and APP state in the Sun belt in place of the Lousiana teams and I got THRASHED by North Texas 24-56 while I was actually controlling the team, and when APP state lost both quarter backs playing GSU in a conference game they went to NT and got murderd as well. I think it was a pretty real season as I lost to UNT and MTSU but managed to tie UNT for the SunBelt champs but lost by default because I lost to NT heads up. I would be happy with GSU entering the sunbelt and going 7-3 like I did in my lil season. ahhh dreams

I heard a roumer that the fight songs are correct and even some of the upper I-AA teams are correct, once again just a roumer but people are saying its fixed now.

NOO, I mean on the game If I recall correctly they use the Generic I-AA stadiums in the 05 game, I was wondering if EA sports went down and made copies of their real stadium for the game this year unlike last?

I think its obvious that they should be 2 stars (twinkle twinkle -be cool) Does FAU and FIU get real stadiums now that they are in your conference???

Sorry to keep bothering your board with my nonsence but I have another point of interest. I was wondering how well other teams in the Sun Belt travel? I am sure that NT is like my school in my conference and travels the most but how are the other schools in your conference as far as fan support on away games?

to be honest thats why I thought it would be much similar because we were both in the C.S.A. I forget texas is as big as it is, I guess you could have totally different types of people at all four corners of your state.

It is very sad when you walk around Georgia Souther's campus and see morons wearing UGA Bulldogs stuff, Georgia Tech stuff can pass because some of our students are in a GSU/GT transfer program but the UGAy stuff makes me sick.

This is true, but if I recall correctly only their 2nd string offence went in not the D because they were having trouble stopping our run. They brought back the 1st string offence so the score would not be close and hurt their BCS standings or image. The only reason I relate to that game so much is because that is the only D-1 school we played, a good school at that, and it is the only way I can relate our school to yours in my mind. And of course being a GSU fan I keep thinking back when the score was tied 7-7 in the 2nd quarter and I was told that was the quietest sanford stadium had ever been in recent years when that happend (by one of the old vet fans). Anyways I am really interested in the over all thoughts about us joining your ranks and fighting for the sun bet conference championship. Is there any talk of ever having 12 teams in the sun belt and doing a champ game?

Ahh yes "ladies n' son's" as I am familiar with it is great food. I guess I am mistaken but I thought Texas was much the same atmosphere, minus the gnats haha. Is north texas not one with the "south"? I am sorry but I have never even been to texas, I assumed it was just as nice and polite with a little spanish influence.

Thats cool, but so did Georgia last year Although we have never beaten a true D-1A school I must say we have one of the faster teams (speed is our edge we are by far not a big sized team) in NCAA football. And our Wishbone Option gives D's all kinds of trouble. We have had very close games with auburn, uga, florida state and others but something always happens and our lack of D-1A depth starts to show in every 4th quarter. When our option is on I dont care who we are playing we will score, its up to our D to win the game from there. The game was a much tighter race than the score suggest. The UGA vs. GSU game stats

You know I am not sure. Residents is something like 50K+ and I am not sure about industry, your question makes me feel like I dont know as much about the area as I should. The university is basically what makes the city and there is not much else in the area as far as the county goes. Historic Savannah Georgia is within an hour of the university and lots of fans and support comes from that city. The man who fronted the money for our stadium owns "Gulfstream Aerospace" in savannah georgia and alot of other funds come from there as well I believe.

Yeah off seasons can lead you to research all kinds of stuff to get your football fix hehe

Ahh have I struck interest in my lil school from GA? That thread is the reason I signed up here to see what you all thought about our school.

a few of our admins are morons IMO. GSU formally denounced sun belt in the past but I know it is the only fit for our school and it makes sence on many levels. The students want the move but our AD and others are playing it safe being a Shark in a small pond of I-AA and our conference. If it were my choice we would be joining in 2010 with our upgraded stadium and with our rival making the jump with us Appalacian(sp?) State. GSU has made no formal announcement on EVER moving up but everyone thinks its inevitable, everyone but the people in charge they want to keep winning at this level and play it safe <_< PS: this is kinda smack but I would love for NT to come to "Our House" and challenge our 200+W & 15L home record over the past 20 years, I honestly think it would be a great game.

You all should take that with a grain of salt, pre season rankings are jokes to begin with.
