2002 - we won 2001 - first time 2003 - lost, but a good game vs. an underrated team 2004 - lost, but it ranks last because of a failure to adjust to a ridiculous USM defensive stunt. Left too many of us just angry and disappointed.

my apologies...I really didn't see a number for the Group (and I was looking for one). They must of hid it well.

Group: Mean Green pw: gmg Was out of town earlier this week, figured someone would have set up the Yahoo brackets. If they did and I just didn't see the thread, oops.

I got off work earlier than expected at 4:30 and decided to come on up from North Dallas. Got to LBJ & I-35 at 4:40. Arrived at Super Pit at 5:58. No kidding. Never got over 25 mph on I-35.

Can you name a game in which WKU never trailed the ENTIRE 40 minutes, only to lose on a half-court circus shot with time expired ?

--The Mets will either win or lose 95+ games. I'm thinking there's a 50/50 chance of either. Some reports have Piazza playing catcher (until injured again). --most reports have Mota as Marlins' closer, with Alfonseca as insurance if Mota can't handle it. Miguel Cabrera is already a superstar, and at age 21 how good will he be when he learns how to hit ? He's already a .310+ BA, 40+ HR candidate. Florida made the move they had to make acquiring Delgado to protect him in the lineup. Josh Beckett, with his blistering fastball (rock me!) is my 2nd pick to win the NL Cy Young (after Roy Oswalt). The Marlins are my pick to win the NL East. --The Braves need continued development of 1B Adam LaRoche to offset the gradual slowing down of Chipper. Smoltz will handle the return to the rotation just fine. The Braves are due some bad luck, and if they finally get it their streak will likely end in this improving division. Furcal is the best SS in the NL, where the competition is much easier than the AL. --The Phillies have some great young talent playing before the most second-most undeserving fans in professional sports (after the A's). 2B Chase Utley is one of my sleeper picks to have a big breakthrough year. Billy Wagner is another year older, but still shows he can bring it. Some scouts have long been predicting a major breakdown for Randy Wolf with his scary cross-body delivery, but Wolf may be one of those rare rubber-armed pitchers who just don't get injured. Thome is in his mid-30's now, but just flat out punishes the ball. He's the NL version of Palmeiro. --The Expos, now Nationals system has developed top talent for MLB for many years. Hopefully, they will be stabilized and be able to keep those players, instead of watching them walk (or be forced to trade them) like Vladi, Pedro, Larry Walker, Randy Johnson, etc, etc, etc. Jose Vidro's career is startlingly similar to Julio Franco's so far. Not a bad career to have, Vidro is just 30. My NL East order: Marlins Braves Phillies Mets Nationals -
Wade Boggs and Ryne Sandberg were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame today. Bruce Sutter, Andre Dawson, and I think one other (Jim Rice ?) were listed on over 50% of the ballots, giving them a good chance for next year. Next year's first-time eligibles will include Will Clark, Orel Hershiser, and Dwight Gooden. Why it took one of the top 4 second basemen of all time 3 tries to get in is beyond reason, but it least it's been rectfied now. 6 assclowns put Darryl Strawberry on their ballot.

That's the biggest problem with TD-only scoring, or scoring that undervalues yardage (such as yahoo default). It tends to be hit-or-miss, especially with WR's. Although St. Peyton was undoubtedly the biggest reason for my season, finding Larry Johnson available late in the season to replace Chris Brown was huge as well. The defense was frustrating, too. In the semi-final against Cara, her defense (Jax) allowed 25 points, my defense (San Diego) pitched a shutout, but both scored the same in the league. Hopefully I can hold on to my lead in the Pick 'em League, a football sweep would be sweet. Kudos should also be given to e-bone, who was/is also a finalist in both leagues.

I like how Al wanted the Seahawks to call for a fair catch on a ball that had already bounced (during the onside kick). -
They were on Ch 5 yesterday in the Bayou Classic FB game against Grambling. Very sharp Blue/Gold uniforms.

There are more accurate questions to ask: 1. Would Ron Zook be interested ? 2. How about R.C. Slocum ? 3. How did this thread make 3 pages ?

Wow indeed. Who were they playing, the Washington Generals ? BTW, Thomas Coliseum is the "old" Birdville Coliseum, next to the "old" Haltom H.S.
