Helmet stickers only work for schools that have used them forever and have a tradition of accomplishment. For others, it just looks like they are overcompensating for something.

Football scholarships are year to year, so a school can elect to drop a player after each season. For this reason, I think it's wrong to dump all over an athlete who decides to switch schools. Vizza and Dodge did not promise UNT they'd graduate from the school. If they elect to go somewhere else, then fans ought to respect that.

A shame Riley isn't going to graduate from UNT, but he gave the Mean Green everything he had. I was kinda hoping he wouldn't be the quarterback again, though, because was getting killed out there. I was concerned for his health after football.

Great system, innit? When a non-AQ team is good enough to compete for the national championship, BCS schools won't schedule them or even drop games against them. Then they claim the team never played anybody! Great win for TCU last night. That's one hell of a team, and I'd love to see them play Oregon or Auburn. Wisconsin should have run more, but TCU was a deserving Rose Bowl winner and ought to be a co-national champion.

The traffic concerns seem overblown to me, given the location of the stadium right next to two major interstates. Is there a stadium in the FBS closer to major highways than ours?

I don't think any school has a better play-by-play announcer than George Dunham. But there is one beef I have with him -- he is too reluctant to ever offer constructive criticism of the current coach, either in broadcasts or on The Ticket. At some point you'd like to hear what he truly thinks when the wheels are off.

Yep. They're broadcasters who took an opportunity to call college football games. As the voice of those schools, they're going to have some affiliation with them regardless of where they went to school. Do UNT alums expect all of our great radio/TV graduates to only work for UNT? Seems like a tough way to make a living waiting for George to get tired of calling our games.

No! North Texas has never passed up an opportunity to beat ourselves.

Hell no. North Texas fans get more excited about playing schools from Texas. We should play as many as we can. There are still some Southland Conference-era fans around who would enjoy seeing the old Southwest Texas State roll into Denton. Also, any excuse to go to San Marcos is a good one. That hilly campus produces some seriously good looking legs on coeds.

Who argues the greatness of the Belt? The most that people say is that it might be better than the diminished WAC. No one is putting it above CUSA or the MWC.

SMU has around 11,000 students. I'd be amazed if they got anywhere near 20K at what they charge.

To each his own, but I don't see why people go to football games and socialize on a party deck. They do it here in Jacksonville too. I go to games to watch the game. Any socializing I do is with the people around me, and even then I'm not terribly gabby.

You're overstating our case a little, but your numbers give me reason for optimism. Our floor for attendance is SMU's ceiling. The new coach and new stadium have to be worth a couple thousand extra butts in seats.

My only opinion on a uniform design is that it includes lots of green. You can't name yourself for a color and only use it as an accent.

Given the financial commitment North Texas is making, I don't think it's too much to ask for him to have a house in the Denton County area. I hope he's looking for a place.
