What part of the Seth Littrell era do you miss most -- the .500 records, calling a six-win season a success, never winning a bowl game or shitting the bed every time we played a bigger OOC opponent after 2018?

Getting back to the topic I can appreciate going for a defense-minded coach next time we hire. Everybody wants offense offense offense. We might get a better caliber of coach if we put more value on a defensive guru. Ironically the coach who brought us the best sustained defensive performance was an offense guy. Darrel Dickey came to Denton after seven jobs as an offense assistant coach or OC, then after he was fired has worked nine more jobs on that side of the ball.

Being a North Texas fan means becoming a connoisseur of catastrophe. You develop refined taste for what separates a normal loss from one for the ages.

The SFA offense scored 13 points, their quarterback overthrew open receivers all night long and they only got 67 yards on the ground. Saying they played better than we did today is saying nothing at all. We stunk in all phases of the game. It was a total performance.

He's 27-30 (10-15 conference) as head coach at SFA and the team he brought into Denton was underwhelming. I am having trouble feeling bad that we didn't pick him over Morris.

Kinne was hired 11 days before Morris and 2 days before we fired Littrell. I remember fans here complaining that waiting to fire Littrell would cost us in hiring, but how many people back then would've considered Kinne a much better hire than Morris?

Larry Coker isn't a success story for them. He went 26-32 and 15-15 in conference at UTSA. The Roadrunners are where they are because they hired Jeff Traylor, who didn't have a big-time resume of success before that. It was his first head coaching gig.

NIL means never having to do anything to earn the money. You're paid for being yourself, which you can't not be. It's got to be the sweetest check to cash in the world.

Our level is the AAC. UNT has the resources to put a football team on the field capable of playing at the level of our conference mates. We're not a broke G5 with a crap stadium and a dinky head coach salary any more.

I still want 7 wins this season. I'm not giving that up as my yardstick of success until it's mathematically impossible, and maybe not even then.

My sons went to UF and one goes to FSU. I get more email from their athletic departments than I ever do from UNT, despite being a small donor at various times over the years.

And other teams are doing badly. You have to win the portal every year in the chaos era of college football. So many players left UNT that we began this season with the most new arrivals in the FBS. Look at FSU. Norvell hit on a bunch of transfers last season and went undefeated before the postseason. He missed on a bunch this season and our conference mate Memphis is about to drop them to 0-3 at Doak. None of this is offered as an excuse for Eric Morris. He has the same opportunity to bring in players as any other team at our level.

You can't run your offense giving up this many touchdowns. Morris has put together a good offense but it won't matter with a Charmin soft defense.

Yes he missed it badly, but the timing matters. Snap has to be better. It was completely behind the holder.

Bad snap deserves some of the blame for that miss.

Hot damn! As a UNT fan I wasn't prepared to see that kind of speed in the open field.
