  1. Reporting something as the " latest RUMOR I'm hearing" is weak. The latest rumor I'm hearing is that Adam Sparks should do his job and make some calls to see if the rumor is true.
  2. Anyone who played football against them. It was hard to see my Berkner Rams led to slaughter once a year.
  3. Lacrosse is blowing up here in Florida. I see youth sports teams playing it now and my son wants to try it.
  4. I never understood the whole "drive around looking for somebody to beat down" thing. My uncle was driving down Jupiter Road in Garland once when teens driving ahead of him slowed their car down to a crawl in all three lanes. He got out at the next stoplight and they made the mistake of getting out to fight him. He's a former Lewisville Fighting Farmers football player who worked 20 years in a supermarket warehouse and isn't a guy to mess with.
  5. Realignment news is 90 percent speculation and 10 percent guesswork. I wouldn't freak out about anything until you see solid news about school invites.
  6. This video proves that in a place that does not require voter ID, the poll workers don't ask for voter ID. It does not prove that any actual vote fraud is taking place. I think the idea that people will commit major felonies to vote as other people is far-fetched. Especially in the numbers it would require to affect an election. There are much better ways to game an election, like hacking electronic voting machines.
  7. Poor bastard. Here's Petrino and his family: http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/becky-petrino.jpg His kids and wife are also victims of this.
  8. Four Colorado State University freshmen are recovering from injuries suffered in a fight with several of the school's football players. J.D. Haley and Danny Gocha say they were leaving a party in Fort Collins with two other people when the athletes drove by and yelled homophobic insults. When Gocha said the same insult back, the SUV stopped. "You could just tell they were looking for a fight,” Haley said. “They just started beating the back of Donny's head in. I covered Donny’s head with my body. We were all scared for his life." Gocha's eyes are swollen shut, his teeth are chipped and he has a shoeprint on his back. Players Nordly Capi, Colton Paulhus and Mike Orakpo -- younger brother of NFL linebacker Brian Orakpo -- were suspended Saturday by the team for unspecified reasons. http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20120409/NEWS01/120409014/4-CSU-students-report-beating-by-football-players?odyssey=tab
  9. Sad news. Saw Coach Joe at the West End once coming out of a restaurant. He was one of my favorite things about the Cowboys during the Johnson years.
  10. Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino has been put on leave after lying about his recent motorcycle crash. Petrino covered up the fact he was riding with Jessica Dorrell, a 25-year-old female staffer, at the time of the accident. He now admits an "inappropriate relationship" with Dorrell, who he promoted March 28: http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2012/apr/06/petrino-leave-admits-crash-lie-20120406/?sports
  11. A forensic voice expert said his analysis indicates that Trayvon Martin was crying for help, not George Zimmerman: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-03-31/news/os-trayvon-martin-george-zimmerman-911-20120331_1_voice-identification-expert-reasonable-scientific-certainty "You can say with reasonable scientific certainty that it's not Zimmerman," said Tom Owen, chairman emeritus of the American Board of Recorded Evidence.
  12. There wasn't anything in his Twitter posts that made him look bad, aside perhaps from a few comments that suggested he was fond of smoking pot. Otherwise, he was just hitting on girls, bullshitting with his friends and talking a bunch of random teen nonsense.
  13. George Zimmerman was fired from his job as a security guard in 2005 for "being too aggressive," a former co-worker told the New York Daily News. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/george-zimmerman-lost-job-party-security-guard-aggressive-ex-co-worker-article-1.1053223#ixzz1qdJD0u5K "Usually he was just a cool guy. He liked to drink and hang with the women like the rest of us," his former coworker said. "But it was like Jekyll and Hyde. When the dude snapped, he snapped. He had a temper and he became a liability. One time this woman was acting a little out of control. She was drunk. George lost his cool and totally overreacted. It was weird, because he was such a cool guy, but he got all nuts. He picked her up and threw her. It was pure rage. She twisted her ankle. Everyone was flipping out."
  14. http://abcnews.go.com/WN/trayvon-martin-case-exclusive-surveillance-video-george-zimmerman/story?id=16022897 The LGF video was embedded directly from ABC.
  15. Sadly, Florida has a stand your ground case in which a black guy shot a white guy dead after he took a gun to yell at a kid for skateboarding on a tennis court: http://www.tampabay.com/news/courts/criminal/witnesses-dispute-trevor-dooleys-stand-your-ground-claim-in-valrico/1206308 The white guy was an unarmed war vet in his 40s playing basketball with his eight year old. The black guy said he "felt threatened."
  16. ABC has video of George Zimmerman in police custody the night of the shooting: http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/40131_Video-_George_Zimmerman_on_Night_of_Trayvon_Killing_-_No_Injuries! If he broke his nose and he shot Martin while he was underneath him getting his head bounced off the sidewalk, where is the blood? Where is any sign of injury on Zimmerman? In the video you can also see the Sanford cops handling evidence such as Zimmerman's coat without using gloves. The funeral director who handled Martin's body also said he found no signs on his hands of being involved in a fight.
  17. I never said that it should. Given all of that, do you think UNT would have been served by a rule that let Jackson fire her for no reason? I'd like to think there's a nice paper trail at UNT describing everything that went down when she was shown the door, and the Board of Regents and others can review it.
  18. Because the government employee is accountable to the public. I agree with you there are drawbacks to not letting people be fired at will. But in general, I'd like to know that when somebody is fired from a government job the decision has to be justified.
  19. Government agencies should be required to justify why they're firing people. We all wanted answers when President Bataille was dumped.
  20. I made an issue of it because UNT90 keeps misrepresenting what other people are saying here.
  21. Go back to that message and show me where, exactly, I praised the original investigator. If you can't do that, admit your mistake.
  22. Go back to that message and show me where, exactly, I praised the original investigator: http://www.gomeangre...post__p__633530 I shared a link to a news story. There's no praise.
  23. The Martin family went to the press because the police were doing nothing to seriously investigate their son's killing. The Sanford police never contacted the girl Martin was talking to on the phone when the incident occurred. They ignored several witnesses and failed to follow up with others. They corrected one witness, telling her the person she heard crying out was Zimmerman, not Martin as she told them. They never heard the possible racial slur Zimmerman muttered on the 911 call. They let Martin lie in the morgue three days as a "John Doe," even though he died 70 yards from his dad's house. And you're praising their professionalism. The only worse cop involved in this tragedy than the Sanford police is the pretend cop who patrolled his neighborhood with a gun looking for scary black people.
  24. The lead homicide investigator in Trayvon Martin's shooting filed an affadavit saying he was "unconvinced" of George Zimmerman's version of events and thought he should be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting, ABC News reports. http://abcnews.go.com/US/trayvon-martin-investigator-wanted-charge-george-zimmerman-manslaughter/story?id=16011674#.T3IWaDGWeFl
  25. When UNT90 can't argue the facts, he reads your mind to tell you how you are feeling. Cool, innit?
