  1. Who said we're losing Tulsa? I hate to see Tulane go, but those three Texas schools and La Tech are a definite improvement for us.
  2. Nice insults. They really sting. I cried myself to sleep last night. I didn't say McCarney should be fired. I said waiting four years after Dodge just for a "shot" to win conference games is sad. McCarney has the stadium we always said UNT needed to succeed. He's about to get a better conference to attract recruits. He should be able to do more with the program than to be slightly better than the utterly pathetic Dodge era. I think McCarney deserves one more season. But no more than that if we're still this mediocre. We're two years past "immediately." I think it was fair to expect a winning conference season from McCarney's team in the Sun Belt this year.
  3. We're supposed to accept four years of rebuilding under a new coach just to have a "shot" to win conference games, all because the last coach sucked? UNT fans set the bar lower than any other college football fans in the country. And our team still can't reach it.
  4. What are the best local beers in DFW? I'm coming back to town soon and need to kill the brain cells that watched UNT play this season.
  5. I don't care about UNT's improvement until it can be measured in wins.
  6. Nobody is given four recruiting classes any more to turn a program around.
  7. This has nothing to do with football and the speculation about the response of the alleged victim is tasteless.
  8. I couldn't find a way to donate on the foundation's website: http://www.americanasthmafoundation.org/ Anyone give through another means?
  9. Tragic news. My condolences to Sean and to his girlfriend's family.
  10. I think that was me. Tried to hit the up arrow and missed. Now I know how a UNT kicker feels.
  11. If UNT had consistent fan support, they'd see how consistently bad this team has been since 2004. It's amazing any fans are showing up. I still have some hope McCarney turns it around, but that's all we have at this point -- hope. The team is 1-3 and still has to play Houston on the road.
  12. Awesome.
  13. The same announcer said Troy State. I guess we should be glad he didn't call us North Texas Normal.
  14. The woman who made this, Lizhoney2u, took all her videos offline after Arkansas' 52-0 loss yesterday to Alabama.
  15. If I wasn't married ...
  16. This video answers the question:
  17. Holy Vince Young! What a shocker! Sun Belt forever!
  18. The game's on ESPNU, for those looking for it.
  19. There's an event on Facebook called FILL APOGEE for people who are going to Saturday's game: https://www.facebook.com/events/350807501662195/ If you join the event, it shares a message like this with your Facebook friends: "Rogers Cadenhead is going to FILL APOGEE." So far, 1,161 people have joined the event and another 2,097 have been invited.
  20. That was an incredible hit. For the rest of this year, we should rate hard hits on the Hilbert Scale.
  21. I'm happy for Texas State. I was hoping they'd be a conference mate of ours in the Sun Belt, and now I hope we're looking to schedule them in future years. As a UNT fan some of my best memories are the times we beat former SWC schools. Take *that* for not inviting us to the party, ya bums!
  22. That depends on whether I got offers from programs with better potential like Idaho or Western Kentucky.
  23. Same here. I'd wash my hands of the school.
  24. To put the $60 million in perspective, Penn State has a budget of $4.3 billion. A seven-year public fundraising campaign ended in 2003 after raising $1.3 billion for the school. Last year was its best ever for donations, at $208 million. The school's athletic budget is $92 million. In 2009-10, the athletic department made $18 million profit. (That's less than what the NCAA called their yearly profit today, I think.) I expect that angry Penn State alumni will donate more than $60 million in response to this.
  25. Penn State is not going to win with walk-ons. This will crush Penn State football for a decade. No top recruit is going to go there for the next four years, which directly impacts the next eight seasons. By the time they're out from under this, they'll have a decade of misery to overcome. O'Brien will be long gone. Like SMU, they may never be a major college football program again.
