Did our band play "My Song Knows What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)" during the game? I thought I heard it coming out of a commercial and it sounded great.
-
His nickname should be Three. The guy is automatic.
-
The game is on SUN here in Jacksonville/St. Augustine and likely available throughout Florida on that channel.

Don't be like that, random guy with 94 comments. Tell us what we can say to make you stay. This is just like when my dad left.

You're expecting us not to talk about it when the players involved are being interviewed about the subject? This game is one of the most infamous in UNT history. Of course fans aren't going to let that go.

He took out a full-page ad protesting the Dickey firing and said that UNT should either take his name off the practice field and put Dickey's there or give his $1 million to the One O'Clock Band. One weird thing about his request: Most (or all) of his money was already spent on athletic facilities at that point, so there wasn't any to give back.
-
Me too. I'm not mad at Dickey any more despite the rancor at the end. He put our football team on a nice run when any kind of success was desperately needed. He's the OC at Memphis and I hope he does well there.
-
Surely he's quoting the largest dollar value he can. To do otherwise is like telling a prospective girlfriend the size of your junk and rounding down.
-
Yeah, we totally should be mad at an alumnus who can write million-dollar checks and has given one to UNT in the past. Anyone know if Mack has warmed up to the hiring of McCarney? You'd think that Irish surname would help.
-
He says the offer was not insured. I don't think an insurer would have covered this promotion, because it's too likely to happen. Seattle was only a small underdog.

UNT Prodigal Son Junior Miller (1310 The Ticket) Comes Home
rcade replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Glad to see the great Junior Miller return to Denton. I hope there are another 10,000 UNT grads like him who are figuring out that something special is happening under McCarney. -
This highlight reel is great. We have one of the best play-by-play announcers in football. Thanks to whoever took the time to do this.

I don't get why any UNT fan would want to burn brain cells thinking about how GoMeanGreen.Com members would act if we were 0-6. We all know the answer to that question. We lived it for a decade. Our shared misery is spread out all over the archives like a Todd Dodge secondary trying to cover Oklahoma. Obsessing over the bad times when your team is winning is like landing a hot wife and talking all the time about how your last woman broke your heart. -

UNT is 4-3 and won two games in a row. Instead of talking about that, you want to take hypothetical shots at hypothetical fans for a hypothetical 0-6 season. The contortions you go through to always be disgruntled here are pretty amazing. -
Your all-is-lost post early during a game is becoming a UNT winning tradition, UNT90. When will you learn that a football game is four quarters long?

Mark Followill is the first announcer I've ever heard correct that ridiculous error. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I think he should be enshrined in the UNT Hall of Fame just for that.
-
There are 3 or 4 replays this week, according to my TV schedule.
-
Normally I could agree with that sentiment, but the way UNT fought back to 21-21 gives me hope that this is a different kind of UNT team.
-
It would be a done deal if SMU wasn't against it. For some reason the SEC lets them have a vote on membership. I think it's because so many lawyers from SMU represent former SEC players when they go on crime sprees.

They won't be laughing after Derek Football hangs a hundred on them.

No one who isn't a UNT alumnus will ever care how he did at UNT. All people will see is that a successful NBA player went here, which will elevate UNT in the eyes of recruits. Imagine Tony's the rookie of the year. A recruit comes to UNT and sees photos of Mitchell all over the basketball facilities. You don't think that would make a difference? These days, how many NBA rookies were successful in college anyway? It's just a place to park themselves for a while.
-
I think we're overestimating how much Mitchell hurt himself with his final season because we wanted him to succeed in college. If the scouts were truly down on him, he doesn't get drafted at all.
-
If Tony Mitchell succeeds in the NBA, he'll be a recruiting goldmine for UNT.
-
I don't see any of those teams playing us regularly unless they share a conference with us. Do you?
-
Same here. The more in-state conference rivals we have, the better off we'll be.
