How does this not bite young Travis in the butt come NFL draft time? Jackson State has had one player drafted the past 20 years. The last big-time NFL player it produced was Jimmy Smith, a second round pick of Dallas in 1992 who became the best wide receiver in Jaguars history (and perhaps forever given how my local team drafts these days). Yes, the FCS does produce some draft picks each year but he won't be honing his skills against the best.

Bowl games have increased from 15 in 1980 to 25 in 2000 to 42 this year. This trend tells me that bowls are making money for somebody. ESPN loves bowls so much it runs 17 of them (18 if they're handling the Frisco Classic). If they weren't profitable they wouldn't keep growing, and all that growth is in minor bowls.

If he had another intent he could have explained himself in another tweet. He didn't. He also didn't apologize. I think it's fair to judge him by his words, which were bigoted and made UNT look bad.

I don't see how a fake slide is even possible under the existing rules. If the quarterback does something like a slide, it's a slide. Motive doesn't matter. If a quarterback looks like the Keep On Truckin' Guy running down the field, it's a slide.
