  1. It will be a great rivalry for UNT when we make it one on the field. It was starting to look like one in 2014 when we were .500 in the previous six games, including a 43-6 stomping that year. Then McCarney and Littrell went 1-8. I don't think losing to SMU has more impact than any other non-conference opponent, aside from fans hating it more. The road to success in any season still goes through the conference. UNT has to win those games and vie for a conference championship.
  2. That UTSA fan has to use stolen valor from SMU to taunt us because we beat them so badly Traylor asked at halftime if the skunk rule could be invoked.
  3. It's not what anybody in the AAC does. The lowest salary in the AAC is $1.5 million. Just because we're getting much less we paid for in Littrell doesn't mean we should go back to trying to win on the cheap.
  4. The top teams in the AAC are leaving, except for one school I won't mention whose fans love our message board.
  5. Siggers played well and you want him to ride the bench as your third stringer. If that's how you feel do the right thing. Call him an Uber and send him back to us.
  6. Whatever the play was, we know it had lower odds of success because SMU had an eternity to prepare for it.
  7. SMU's just going through the motions now. Last year they weaponized the Blue's Clues guy against us:
  8. You know things are bad in Denton when fans think beating SMU is impossible to even hope for in the future. They've been in the AAC eight years and have had a winning conference record only once. Two years they went 1-7. Yes, they are better than UNT today. They blew us up real good. But better forever? Have a little faith that our neighbors will live up to their stadium namesake and fall down. And we'll find a head coach someday who isn't completely over his head. If Louisiana could find Billy Napier there are coaches out there who can win here.
  9. These SMU-UNT blowouts are the reason Safeway left the Metroplex.
  10. 48 to mother-humping 10. At least our message board is better.
  11. They're on our schedule every year from 2023 forward unless they chew their leg off to escape the AAC.
  12. When the third quarter began a broadcaster said "you know a Seth Littrell-coached team won't give up when they are down by 21." Like it was in his pre-game notes.
  13. He's the OC/QB coach at Bethune-Cookman.
  14. Dammit. I knew if I said something non negative about Aune he'd make me look like a UTSA graduate.
  15. Aune's not the reason this game is a cakewalk. The defense is. Maybe I'm biased because he started at UNT with me in 1987.
  16. The Mean Green is losing by 21 points, but at least our fans haven't turned on each other.
  17. He's saying it was good woke to integrate football, not everything-I-hate-is-woke woke. But why am I replying? UNT is back in the red zone. I'm getting beer from the fridge if anybody needs any.
  18. I wouldn't derail this thread if UNT was playing better, but was it "woke" in 1956 when Odus Mitchell made Abner Haynes and Leon King the first black Division I college football players in Texas?
  19. What the hell? I left the room for half a minute.
  20. He's in the building and fulfills my number one priority of not being Seth Littrell. Make the deal at halftime!
  21. I'm judging our performance on actual points, not points we almost might have possibly scored.
  22. $36,000 a year in NIL money for every player helps. But that's not why we're losing. We're stinking it up so badly we'd be getting stomped if they played pro bono.
  23. That's the length a man's shorts are supposed to be. None of this past the knees Kris Kross Mac Dad'll make you jump jump nonsense. You should be able to see a whisper of ballsack when a man does jumping jacks.
  24. He's a master of the element of surprise. Surprise we would still be running it after the timeout.
  25. Question for my fellow middle-aged Texans: Was cornhole a thing when we were growing up? The first time I ever heard the word it was slang for a specific sex act. So when I see CBS Sports Network ads expressing excitement about the upcoming American Cornhole Tournament, hilarity ensues.
