  1. 48 to mother-humping 10. At least our message board is better.
  2. They're on our schedule every year from 2023 forward unless they chew their leg off to escape the AAC.
  3. When the third quarter began a broadcaster said "you know a Seth Littrell-coached team won't give up when they are down by 21." Like it was in his pre-game notes.
  4. He's the OC/QB coach at Bethune-Cookman.
  5. Dammit. I knew if I said something non negative about Aune he'd make me look like a UTSA graduate.
  6. Aune's not the reason this game is a cakewalk. The defense is. Maybe I'm biased because he started at UNT with me in 1987.
  7. The Mean Green is losing by 21 points, but at least our fans haven't turned on each other.
  8. He's saying it was good woke to integrate football, not everything-I-hate-is-woke woke. But why am I replying? UNT is back in the red zone. I'm getting beer from the fridge if anybody needs any.
  9. I wouldn't derail this thread if UNT was playing better, but was it "woke" in 1956 when Odus Mitchell made Abner Haynes and Leon King the first black Division I college football players in Texas?
  10. What the hell? I left the room for half a minute.
  11. He's in the building and fulfills my number one priority of not being Seth Littrell. Make the deal at halftime!
  12. I'm judging our performance on actual points, not points we almost might have possibly scored.
  13. $36,000 a year in NIL money for every player helps. But that's not why we're losing. We're stinking it up so badly we'd be getting stomped if they played pro bono.
  14. That's the length a man's shorts are supposed to be. None of this past the knees Kris Kross Mac Dad'll make you jump jump nonsense. You should be able to see a whisper of ballsack when a man does jumping jacks.
  15. He's a master of the element of surprise. Surprise we would still be running it after the timeout.
  16. Question for my fellow middle-aged Texans: Was cornhole a thing when we were growing up? The first time I ever heard the word it was slang for a specific sex act. So when I see CBS Sports Network ads expressing excitement about the upcoming American Cornhole Tournament, hilarity ensues.
  17. We're trying quick tempo. Not sure why. Seems like a good way to make our defense completely gassed.
  18. C'mon, refs. Forward progress was over.
  19. I'm rooting for the game to end so I can watch the Mean Green.
  20. This 12-team playoff sounds like the first time North Texas (and every other G5 school) has an actual path to the national championship: Win your conference as the highest ranked G5 team, then win all your playoff games. Obviously the odds are stacked against us, just like they would be to win the NCAA basketball tournament, but give me "unlikely but possible" any day over "completely bleeping impossible." Has anyone seen data on the highest ranked G5 team in recent years at the time of year a 12-team playoff field would be set?
  21. That's good parenting. My dad tried to make his three kids Longhorns fans. That's bad parenting. We all went to UNT and root for the Mean Green.
  22. Can we really compare hiring Odus Mitchell straight from high school coaching in the 1940s to hiring Parker and Dodge so much later? College football was so different back then that Mitchell could field a team entirely of walk-ons from the student body with zero recruiting prior to the season and win a bowl game. He was a great coach, beyond a doubt, but a lot less was expected of a head coach playing at a venue with 2,500 seats at North Texas State Teachers College.
  23. Hostage videos are read with more enthusiasm than that. We're going to need Jeff Traylor and Seth Littrell to have a debate about the most exciting moments in their lives. Steven Wright will moderate.
  24. I had more years of watching Scott Davis than other Mean Green fans because he was also our quarterback at Berkner High School when I went there. He was quarterback when the Rams beat Plano for the first time in school history.
  25. Preseason seems like a joke these days. Unheralded players who do get significant time in the final two games almost never make the teams any more.
