  1. There was a game? All I saw were commercials.
  2. Wren Baker obviously doesn't look to this board for advice. If he did we'd be talking about how great it was to win our third National Championship last season.
  3. I want the problem of having to replace a coach because he did so well at North Texas he got hired elsewhere. After Hayden Fry, only one coach got another Division I/FBS head coaching job after UNT -- Jerry Moore coached Texas Tech. Two others got lower level head coaching gigs: Dennis Parker at Texas Lutheran and Bob Tyler at Millsaps. The other six coaches haven't led a team again.
  4. Firing a coach three games into a season says that a program is in shambles from top to bottom. Nebraska had soured on Frost before the season began but instead of doing something about it, they gave him this season even though everybody knew he was all-but-guaranteed to be fired by the end of it. So now Nebraska's athletes have a year of eligibility wasted with an interim coach when they could've been playing this season for a new coach. And they didn't keep Frost around because of money considerations since they just put themselves on the hook for $7.5 million by not waiting three weeks to fire him.
  5. Recruits and potential recruits aren't going to remember that Frost was fired on Sept. 12 instead of Oct. 1. They're going to care about the new coach. Does anyone think they'll hire somebody in September they couldn't have gotten in October or November?
  6. Having an interim coach for 20 more days this season doesn't sound like a benefit worth $7.5 million.
  7. Same. I'm here in the belief that someday Touchdown Jesus will forgive us and we'll win again.
  8. This weekend keeps getting better for a conference we used to call "the lowly Sun Belt." ESPN College GameDay will take place at App State next Saturday.
  9. I wouldn't call them worthless because players get more game experience. It wasn't always pretty but we won by 32 and scored 35 in a single quarter. I'm enjoying the W and hoping we can take some momentum into Vegas.
  10. He was UNT's graduate assistant for tight ends in 2009. His bio looks like somebody whose next job will be head coach if Central Michigan plays well.
  11. Damn, Sun Belt. What must it be like to play in such a strong G5 conference?
  12. NIL deals can't require that the athlete play or contain performance incentives or benchmarks. All the athlete has to do to get the money is to endorse the business or product paying him. Injured LSU quarterback Myles Brennan quit football after signing NIL deals with five businesses in 2021. He never played a game after signing the deals. He gets to keep the money. Every SMU player could transfer to UNT a week later and keep the $36,000. We should fly a banner over their stadium letting them know this.
  13. It will be a great rivalry for UNT when we make it one on the field. It was starting to look like one in 2014 when we were .500 in the previous six games, including a 43-6 stomping that year. Then McCarney and Littrell went 1-8. I don't think losing to SMU has more impact than any other non-conference opponent, aside from fans hating it more. The road to success in any season still goes through the conference. UNT has to win those games and vie for a conference championship.
  14. That UTSA fan has to use stolen valor from SMU to taunt us because we beat them so badly Traylor asked at halftime if the skunk rule could be invoked.
  15. It's not what anybody in the AAC does. The lowest salary in the AAC is $1.5 million. Just because we're getting much less we paid for in Littrell doesn't mean we should go back to trying to win on the cheap.
  16. The top teams in the AAC are leaving, except for one school I won't mention whose fans love our message board.
  17. Siggers played well and you want him to ride the bench as your third stringer. If that's how you feel do the right thing. Call him an Uber and send him back to us.
  18. Whatever the play was, we know it had lower odds of success because SMU had an eternity to prepare for it.
  19. SMU's just going through the motions now. Last year they weaponized the Blue's Clues guy against us:
  20. You know things are bad in Denton when fans think beating SMU is impossible to even hope for in the future. They've been in the AAC eight years and have had a winning conference record only once. Two years they went 1-7. Yes, they are better than UNT today. They blew us up real good. But better forever? Have a little faith that our neighbors will live up to their stadium namesake and fall down. And we'll find a head coach someday who isn't completely over his head. If Louisiana could find Billy Napier there are coaches out there who can win here.
  21. These SMU-UNT blowouts are the reason Safeway left the Metroplex.
  22. 48 to mother-humping 10. At least our message board is better.
  23. They're on our schedule every year from 2023 forward unless they chew their leg off to escape the AAC.
  24. When the third quarter began a broadcaster said "you know a Seth Littrell-coached team won't give up when they are down by 21." Like it was in his pre-game notes.
