We're also a bit slow to exploit the NIL. Offering half off coupons at New York Sub Hub (lunch only) might not be enough to sway recruits.
  2. Smatresk should hire a talented and ambitious AD and give him the full power to decide whether to keep Littrell or replace him. Anyone who sees himself as a P5 AD someday isn't going to want to stake his future on Mr. Six Wins and a Bowl Loss.
  3. If I may interrupt your unbroken record of being right, Mr. Vocal Hurter of Feelings who's only been a fan since Obama was president, I wasn't assuming the records would stay the same. But the records show that two current AAC teams are world-class terrible and we're bringing several bad teams along with us. I've been a UNT fan since Reagan was president. Even if he had forgotten it by that time.
  4. Billy Napier goes 40-12 in four years and that's enough for him to leap from the Sun Belt to one of the SEC fat cats. Jeff Traylor is 30-9 in three years. Another 10-win season ought to be enough to rid us of this meddlesome priest.
  5. I don't know if next year's AAC is good enough to push UTSA to the middle of the pack and UNT to the bottom 3. Here's this year's conference records for all of next year's AAC teams: UTSA (CUSA): 8-0 Tulane (AAC): 7-1 UNT (CUSA): 6-2 SMU (AAC): 5-3 UAB (CUSA): 4-4 ECU (AAC): 4-4 FAU (CUSA): 4-4 Memphis (AAC): 3-5 Tulsa (AAC): 3-5 Charlotte (CUSA): 2-6 Temple (AAC): 1-7 USF (AAC): 0-8 UNT has a better record than three CUSA mates coming with us and two AAC left-behinds have one conference win between them, Temple and USF. There's a lot of mediocrity in conference for our tradition of slightly above mediocre football to put us ahead of those schools.
  6. I'm so defeated I am starting to appreciate a CUSA team getting ranked, going undefeated in conference and 11-2. F football. Like every other codger in Florida I'm all about pickleball now.
  7. Those dopes are going to regret not becoming the University of North Texas East Texas.
  8. That wasn't a big game for us until we won it, though. Beforehand it was just part of the road to six wins.
  9. I don't know what any of this means but I hope you'll keep talking about it to distract me from this game.
  10. Has there been a big game where Seth didn't step on his own dick? The law of averages should mean at least one time he has the Mean Green being equal to the moment.
  11. This is excellent TV production. I feel like I'm closer to the UTSA receivers than anyone in green.
  12. I thought until 5 p.m. today that the game was on Saturday. Happier times.
  13. No, but it was fun to be the shark among the minnows. These days telling people that we won the Sun Belt four years in a row sounds pretty good.
  14. Dear Wren Baker: Jeff Traylor's dream is to raise a family in Morgantown.
  15. I'm beginning to think the Houston Texans shouldn't draft Aune with the first pick.
  16. Every time a UTSA player is in the open field with the ball it looks like he was shot out of a cannon.
  17. Some of you are as inaccurate as Aune when it comes to voting on my comments. The Up arrow is two to the right of the Down arrow.
  18. UNT ad: "And the best college food anywhere!" Giant text on screen: "Second best college food."
  19. I haven't seen anyone act as folksy as Houston Nutt since Hee Haw went off the air. On that note "Gloom, despair and agony on me" is a good summation of the first half.
  20. Houston Nutt is sounding like a Mean Green alum on the pregame and halftime. Can't remember a former coach sounding this pro-UNT since the late great Jim Wacker.
  21. How do we let UTSA get open by a mile for a deep touchdown pass with 17 seconds on the clock?
  22. College football fans care a lot about who the coach is. I've spent a lot of time in Gainesville because I have a son in school there, and from the second Billy Napier was hired he was the No. 1 topic of conversation in the community. A coach who can get the fan base fired up would be a big deal at UNT.
  23. Yep! UNT should create promos with her about how she's become overly attached to our teams. I'm glad she got a $400,000 NFT payday while that was still a thing. I think she bought a house.
  24. Sometimes the number two guy wants to make his mark. Mosley might not want to be the second UNT AD in a row who inherited a head football coach from Rick V.
