    True, but few coaches could do what he did and totally burn a place down, knowing they could build it up completely again with coaching star power, recruiting, big-time NIL spending, and two of his own extremely talented sons.

    Why would anyone believe it when a new coach says that after his predecessor just got fired? Eric Morris wasn't going to come in last December and say "man are we going to suck next season. I can see why Seth got fired. This team stinks!"

    You could tell that Lyn Rollins had access to the 50% field goal figure but not the fact it was two out of four career attempts. It was nice of La Tech to support remote work by allowing Rollins to phone it in.

    If SMU can afford $100 million to forego all ACC revenue until 2034, Florida State and Clemson can afford the $120 million it would take to buy themselves out of the ACC. SMU bought itself a place in a P5 that will be a P3 in 10 years. Or maybe even a P2.

    That press release shows SMU is good at shoveling horsecrap. Three days of being in the news is worth $54 million a day? A Super Bowl ad costs $7 million. SMU thinks accepting no TV revenue until 2034 to join a P5 football conference is as valuable as running 23 Super Bowl commercials.

    Lyn Rollins was way more excited about La Tech forming public-private partnerships with the business community than the game he was watching. I've never heard that kind of academic tedium in a football game that wasn't a blowout.

    Whenever somebody digs a long-dead thread out of its grave I check to see if I praised Todd Dodge in it. Portland State beat a team called the North American Stallions 91-0 yesterday.

    I don't remember Stadium games with great picture quality. The network is so small time they carry games of seven-man flag football where the only people in the stands are the players' moms. I do occasionally watch those games, of course. But only because I bet on them.

    When I sync football games to radio, I pause the TV right after the ball is kicked on the opening kickoff and unpause when the radio catches up to that moment.

    Rogers is throwing long balls that need some help from his receivers or are too long to be caught. But overall I'm excited by his performance tonight.

    On one of the last running plays of that drive, La Tech wide receiver Smoke Harris got into a helmet to helmet meeting of the minds with our safety Logan Wilson that ended with Harris either pointing a pretend gun or an emphatic finger at Wilson.

    I think it would have worked without the fumble. But I don't like the aggressiveness there because UNT was finding open field on almost every play. Move the ball and eat the clock.

    The announcer calling it "lagniappe" when LaTech defenders finally caught Burns and were trying to strip the ball is pretty funny.
