Nice run, 4Chan! No, wait. Cancel that nickname. -
***OFFICIAL UNT vs NAVY in-Game Discussion***
rcade replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
That's a slanderous lie. Our defense has looked worse than that on a lot of plays this season. -
I'm hearing reports from Fair Park that the Longhorns came up short. Get it?

Very sad. https://www.kait8.com/story/14950715/former-north/ His family set up a scholarship in his name for an Alamo Heights student who needs financial help to attend college. https://samdibrell.com/

If Morris beats Navy will you forgive his past sins?
rcade replied to GMG_Dallas's topic in Mean Green Football
I forgive the sins of the people objecting to this thread. -
I'm glad the thing I didn't know was happening will no longer happen. Can the recruits still get mani-pedis?

Brett Vito is still where he always has been, covering North Texas athletics at the Denton Record-Chronicle as penance for his sins in an earlier life. https://dentonrc.com/sports/colleges/mean_green/brett-vito-a-2-2-nonconference-season-might-sound-mediocre-but-its-a-huge-win/article_0f971d3d-8d9d-5516-a618-77c7beac0156.html

AAC commish favors CFP model with 5 highest-ranked champions
rcade replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
I've been wondering if conference championships will survive the era of big conferences feeding on each other. Conferences have never mattered less than they do today in the P5. A superconference might not want to guarantee a late-season loss for one of its top teams by playing a conference championship any more. The larger the playoff, the less important a P5 conference championship game. -
How Much Time Do We Give The New Coach To Get Us Bowl Eligible
rcade replied to Eagle-96's topic in Mean Green Football
NTXSports was doing that "laugh at ourselves" thing and the Big Sky Conference decided that laughing at us was funnier. Rat bastards. -
He might have done the interview with us just to get word out he was sought after, but in 2006 he only had a few seasons coaching an FCS school (University of San Diego) and was a year past a DUI arrest that got national media coverage. The same month he interviewed at UNT he took the Stanford job. Five years later he was hired to coach the 49ers.

If that's a clown show then send in the clowns. The atmosphere at those games in Boulder is incredible. Deion took a program that was a doormat for most of the last 20 years and put it on the map again. College GameDay has already been there. In hindsight it looks like there was no chance Deion would come here. He got a P5 school. But sometimes a coach would have come here who was about to become a big deal elsewhere. Jim Harbaugh interviewed at UNT in 2006 to succeed Dickey.

North Texas adds home-and-home with Washington State
rcade replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
This is a cool home-and-home. That's a great football atmosphere up in Pullman in the games I've seen. I wonder what conference Washington State will be when we visit them in 2030. -
If every coach intended to use every player he acquired by transfer, sure. But sometimes they just want to load up with backups in case there are injuries. I'd hate to be a star player who moved to a bigger school and never played. The money would be nice, but not as nice as getting on the field with the few years of eligibility an athlete has.

There have been a lot of bad decisions by UNT leaders affecting athletics. One of the best decisions they've ever made was making the official switch to Mean Green in 2000. Big Al Hurley had a great record outside of sports. On sports he blew it. He was on the board that set us back decades by dropping to I-AA.

If God wanted me to root for SMU He'd have them play Texas.
-
Please tell me you only said that because you bet on SMU.

We're playing it on the road. Kudos to the members of Mean Green Nation who made the trip.

It's not creepy if you call it journalism. Signed, Former journalist

I can tell from your comment that you've been burned. Don't close your heart to the opportunity of loving another UNT athletic department staff member when they prove themselves worthy with their performance. When the right one comes along, just keep telling yourself "he is not Grant."

That's the nature of the beast these days in college sports. Nobody is guaranteed to stick around for long. We don't know that he'd leave. The situation at UNT might be a really good fit for him, personally and professionally. This is his first big opportunity on a college football staff and it's right in the DFW area where he's got the strongest background. The only place we have to fear snapping him up is SMU, but does he really want to move to the Atlantic coast when DFW has always been his home?

Coach O being so active on Ex-Twitter talking UNT football and recruiting could be really good for us. If the cost of him being there is that he occasionally turns a Mean Green fan into a pile of smoldering ash for getting saucy with an @ message, that's alright. The fan probably didn't have any eligibility left anyway.
-
Dad Bod Scrappy looks like he's tired of hearing about SMU.

So we really can't criticize the head coach, eh?
rcade replied to TripleGrad's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't speak for the mods here, but as someone who has moderated large message boards for a long time, I have found that when you give users explanations for your actions, that just makes them want more explanations. And any time the users revolted and called for me to be run out of town, I thought about how nice it would be if they succeeded.- 101 replies

I'm so confident in Eric Morris I am watching Incarnate Word to see the coach who will succeed him after Alabama hires Morris away from us.
