    They look a little better with the better camerawork. Not the defense, the helmets. I want worse camerawork when we're on defense, like on the Chandler Rogers pass play where they didn't show the catch.

    Bill Mercer is the first person I associated with North Texas. When I watched the occasional game as a kid in the 1970s, I recognized him from the Saturday Night Wrestling broadcasts on Channel 11. One of the all-time greats in DFW sports broadcasting and a well-deserved inductee into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.

    I know less than nothing about this, but with the reputation of our band and drumline there should be directors from other FBS schools applying here to move up. We wouldn't need to look to high schools for a new leader any more than we'd do that for a head coach. That would be insane. No FBS program would ever do that.

    I don't like this uniform because of the helmets but it looks much better in a win.

    Good win. The offense rolled over Temple and the defense came to the party, getting three INTs and holding them scoreless for the last 38 minutes of the game. Let's play like this against Tulane. I always get them and Temple confused and maybe our players do too.

    Take them to Chuck E. Cheese, have a Pixar movie marathon or provide beads and string so they can make friendship bracelets for their bestie on the team.

    Fans show up for App State because they win, not because Boone lacks other things to do. Since they joined the FBS in 2014 they've had no losing seasons and have been to seven bowl games, winning six of them. Before that in the FCS from 1982 to 2013, they had only four losing seasons and won three FCS championships.

    I discovered the weird acoustics of this stairwell at 3 a.m. after working extremely late at The Daily. I was leaving and heard what sounded like non-stop demonic whispering (or, with benefit of hindsight, when Dave Grohl mumbles in "Everlong"). It turned out to be a Coke can that still had some soda fizzing in it.
