I hate how long instant replay takes in all sports that use it. Instead of waiting for certainty before making a call, they should look at replays for a set amount of time. When that time runs out, treat it as "the call stands."

You said you want the clock stopped until the snap. At present the clock only stops until the refs place the ball, if I understand correctly. That seems like enough time to me. One of the worst things about the new overtime rules is that even in the third-and-later rounds where teams just go for two points each time, coaches get one timeout. It grinds things to a halt like the end of an NBA game.

Stopping the clock on every first down would make games seven hours long.

Here in Florida the SEC homers are using SMU's presence in the playoff to "prove" that the ACC is not a legitimate Power conference. Heard it on Jacksonville sports radio this morning from a host who went to UF. The game's rigged for the big dogs and they keep making their club more exclusive all the time. Everybody else in the FBS is the Washington Generals. I wish the G5 schools would create their own organization to work together more strongly for a future that doesn't suck.

It's neither a flex nor an excuse. It's just a fact. The American went 6-2, which is pretty good but 7-1 would've been better. The ACC went 2-11! I'm glad SMU left so we don't have to count their bowl loss in our total.

That crap pisses me off. Opponents need to show they did their homework by calling us North Texas Normal.

Sucks to lose, but I am proud of the players who stuck around and the noobs who showed up and played way better than anyone expected.

A lot of that 13.5-point line was because we lost Morris and Sheffield. With our QB and WRs playing as well as they did, those disadvantages were neutralized and we could have won this bowl game. There's nothing wrong with being disappointed that didn't happen.

The dude had 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns, 99 yards receiving and threw a 42-yard touchdown pass. Why are we talking about whether he's a good person? I don't care if he stole a Coke from a kid on the way to the locker room. Those numbers are insane.

I wouldn't call Cam Skattebo part of the problem. He left an FCS school after two seasons and joined Arizona State when Kenny Dillingham became the coach. Even though ASU went 3-9 that year Skattebo was adamant about staying for this season because he believed in what they were building. Now he's Nick Saban's "favorite player" (as he said on GameDay), he single-handedly made the 12-team playoff not suck for four epic quarters and overtime, and he's a senior with no more eligibility looking like a second-day NFL draft pick.

He would not. Virginia didn't outbid UCF, Memphis and Oklahoma State to watch him get hurt playing around with his ex.

If Texas wants me to root for them they need to play SMU.

Everybody sounds like Cris Collinsworth these days, who could make a Patrick Mahomes incomplete pass sound like it was the immaculate reception. The big stars get hyped all game long even when they crap the bed. Actual players doing actual good things in front of our actual eyes get overlooked.
