This sucks, but losing coaches because of success is better than firing them for failure. Can't say I'm excited to go back to square one again. For a while when somebody yells "North" I'm not going to say "Texas."

They would be required to answer it. I've sent FOIA requests to UNT in the past about athletics and gotten a response, though it's not free. -

Bill Mercer doing North Texas football games on TV in the 1970s was my first exposure to the school. Between that and him calling Von Erich wrestling matches broadcast from the Sportatorium he was one of my favorite sports broadcasters. An all-time great.

I agree with J.J. Watt that it's wrong for the athletes whose sports make no money and attract few NIL deals to have to travel great distances for conference games. It would be a better system if schools could have a conference affiliation for football and basketball and another for the rest of the sports.

Man I love Richard Pitino and Steve Forbes. A school that hired either of them to coach basketball would be in high cotton.

I wasn't expecting a tiny moment in the fourth quarter to be devoted to a story about a kid getting third-degree burns from his mom's abusive boyfriend, ending up in foster care and becoming the Arkansas State coach. You might want to wait for a blowout to tell that story, Mr. Announcer. Ten seconds doesn't do that horror justice.
