  1. Im a Texans fan, through and through, but I couldn't help but feel a great bit of pride seeing Cobbs do what made my college years special. Way to go, #38. Keep tearing it up!
  2. With the Texans' last second victory, The Eagle1855 Cumulative Spare Football Team Record has officially moved to 1-10! What a rollercoaster of a game, good for a 4-0 mark against the 'fins. Also, even though I'm anything but a Dallas Cowboy fan, I'd like to say how glad I was Folk hit that FG after the Cardinals pulled that bush-league time out move. I can't STAND when coaches do that.
  3. you mean with a pillow over your face with arms and legs tied to the corners of the bed? Or did I miss something? Regarding the thread, I just want to see our offense put up some points. And I want our players to have fun. And I want to score in the red zone. And I want a new bike. And a pony.
  4. I'll take LSU over Florida by 3. There will almost certainly be a blocked PAT and a key 4th down conversion. Penn St over Wisconsin by 11. I know for a fact I won't watch this game because Big 10 football is almost as exciting as watching glaciers melt. Iowa State over Baylor. Chizik's D all up in the Bear's arse. (go where you will with that) KSU over A&M, though barely. The only people watching this game are people who went to these schools and people who like to watch uninspired football- Like UNT fans. Ok State over Missouri in a 3 point upset. I think OK State is the real deal and I have questions about Mizzou's defense. I'll gladly eat those words Sunday. MTSU over F_U. This is probably the most intriguing matchup in all of college football this week. OU over Texas, 35-31. Colt McCoy can't do it all, all the time. If this were a BCS bowl, I'd take Texas. But alas, Bob Stoops knows the inside of Mack Brown's skull. And for the rest of the year I'll take _________ over UNT until proven otherwise.
  5. Me too if it means we get to play UNT 12 times a year! ha. I have to laugh or I'll cry.
  6. Love it. The ending was perfect. A perfect ending, if you will. Oh and LJ- well-played!
  7. eeeeek... /pulls collar away from neck I tend to agree with everyone who said the D-line. You have to disrupt the timing of the play, get penetration (hehe). Now knowing how to stop it and being able to do it are 2 completely different things. I would definitely sell out to stop the run though.
  8. got anything besides conjecture to support your assumption that Dodge will be throwing Riley in the mix as a QB any time soon?
  9. Well that depends on how much value you give excuses. Where excuses are meaningless, it would then be x - (1000 * 0)... which is equal to x. So in this situation, Emmitt is essentially predicting a tie.
  10. I was thinking about this the other day... what has happened to Washington State? I mean as recently as 2002 they were a solid, ranked team. Is it related to the reemergence of USC?
  11. yup, give me a balanced pro-style offense like USC over the spread any day. Of course, you have to have the athletes...
  12. It's no more racist than you calling me an American. /facepalm
  13. I think it comes down to OU's O-line vs UT's D-line. Whoever wins that battle wins the game. I honestly don't have any idea which way this game goes, but I'd tend to favor OU if for no other reason than Bob Stoops seems to know what it takes to win it, having 6 of the last 8.
  14. I remember in 2002 when the Texans put up 47 yards of TOTAL OFFENSE to the Steelers 422. The Texans had just 3 first downs to the Steelers 24. The Texans held the ball for 20 minutes- the Steelers had it for almost 40. And yet the Texans won 24-6. Ah, those were the days. Oh yeah, the Steelers had 5 turnovers.
  15. Well-stated, hombre. That being said, I'd sure love for them to get this shite together.
  16. If we had gmg.com bingo cards, "mess" would definitely have to be one of the squares.
  17. oh to beat a top-10 any team during a rebuilding year!
  18. I think you've got to give him through at least the end of next year. At that point, maybe re-eval, see if things are going in the right direction. I'd personally prefer seeing a chance with 4 years, all his own guys. But that's just me. Of course, I too have many concerns with things I saw during the Rice game, including the staff seemingly conceding the game by going for a long field goal at the end of the first half, but whatever. Im no football coach, I just saw a lot of things that (to me) defied logic if the goal was to win the game.
  19. honestly, we should go for two every time we score a touchdown. Not to say we score a lot of touchdowns. But you know, when we do, we should take advantage of it. I mean, think about how much closer we would have been to Rice if we had done this...
  20. well then let's call it the Veer.
  21. I dig the hell out of Rubber Gloves, though its been a long while since I've been there. Seemed like they always had really good acoustics in that place which made it a pleasure to listen to a fair-to-decent band
  22. Aside from the cheeseball music, great video. I hadn't seen this. I don't know what I'd do with myself if we actually ended up with a stadium that looked like that.
