  1. And that's what the majority of people on this board thought Dodge would be. Well, so far he isn't. I find it HILARIOUS everyone was all over Dodge's jock when UNT hired him and now, just 2 years into the "experiment", everyone is acting like they are - once again - the experts with the right answers as to what RV should do. So yeah, fire Dodge. Then bring in some other "offensive genius" that can "excite the fan base." And if it doesn't go well after a year or two, we can always fire him and bring in another one. This is UNT. We have a winning tradition to uphold and the money and alumni support to ensure that happens.
  2. Ok, let me rephrase that... I don't think there is a wiser choice to make given our situation (which you apparently aren't familiar with). You fire Todd Dodge after 2 years, nevermind the PR hit, who would you hire and with what money? I'd like to fire Dodge and bring in Urban Meyer (he's proven he can win at non-BCS schools too), but you know that isn't really an option. Of course, that's like so North Texas of me to say... Fact is, anyone else you bring in that we can afford is a huge gamble. Why not give the Dodge experiment one more year, see if we can turn things around? What's one more year? If we have more WKU and Ark State games, it could be worth it. If not, oh well. And for the record, I was never really all that excited about the Dodge hire in the first place (which you can feel free to search the archives for confirmation). Obviously that hasn't changed. Im just using common sense.
  3. Im reluctantly of the same mindset. I find these past two years to be completely unacceptable, however I also realize in our situation we really don't have much of a choice. Anyone else catch the MAC Champ game last night? Said Ball State endured 4 losing seasons before having a winning season. Blah blah blah, at least they were competitive, I know. Even so.
  4. limitations pass india jokes are fair game always last to know
  5. FIX THE DAMNED PROBLEM!
  6. 2 responses in, Im already digging the direction of this thread.
  7. It isn't like doing that ever caused any catastrophic events in history. Is it too early for Godwin's Law?
  8. Well for one, I didn't hear any talk about our run at a BCS bowl bid next year.
  9. Black pants are meaningless without helmet stickers.
  10. Which I will absolutely be attending. Any chance to see ND get romped is a happy day.
  11. Dude's been in the league for 11 years... 2-time scoring champ, 7-time all star... outside of rings, I don't know what else you want out of a "super star."
  12. Because Dirk's kind of a bitch too. Unlike Dirk, T-Mac was never on a good team. The team the Mav's took to the Finals was loaded compared to what McGrady played with in Toronto or Orlando. And the Rockets, well they've been a portrait of mediocrity for over a decade. Until last year, really, which was still a FAIL. T-Mac was a super star on sub par teams. He isn't a superstar anymore. As a Rocket's fan, I wish he still played like he did in 2004. Both teams have grossly underachieved the last few years, in my opinion. Meanwhile, SA built a dynasty... much to the chagrin of both Dallas and Houston.
  13. It's become such a joke down here. Like clockwork, every year around the holidays, T-Mac is "injured". All the news outlets are really letting him have it now, and rightfully so. Doctors in Houston say there's nothing wrong with his knee. So he goes to Birmingham for a second opinion. Still, nothing wrong. The problem is with his labia majora. Lucky for me, I still hate sports so it isn't bothering me as much as it used to.
  14. hence my blue chip status. bitchez.
  15. Bingo. I'd expect a pretty good-sized turn around in just one year. Bringing in a real-deal DC will make the transition a lot easier.
  16. For me it would come down to living in BFE or Seattle. Also, Washington was actually a prestigious program at one time whereas Tech will always be viewed as a stepchild to Texas and A&M... regardless of football records. Pretty easy choice for ME, but what do I know. I hope he leaves. And I hope Tech's program crumbles. More recruits for the U of NT's super sweet spread fantastigasm.
  17. i see what you did there. and I approve of it.
  18. well unless they lengthen the games, I can't see how we could be much worse. So yes, I'll agree with you on this one.
  19. No worries, text isn't an ideal medium for sarcasm. ha, and with some of the things people have thrown out in the past few weeks, for all you know I could have been dead-serious. Hooray basketball!
  20. just. a. joke. We seem to be finding any and everything we can to complain about in the aftermath of another abortion of a season so I thought I'd find something fun and make it not fun. In jest.
  21. You wouldn't. But you would feel better knowing he had actually won at that level in the past, thus making it easier to stick with him when it doesn't go well right out the gates.
  22. and while we're at it, what's the deal with whole crowd yelling "first down" every time we get a first down? I mean, we hardly get any these days so whenever we do, it almost sounds like we're all excited just to get a first down which is kind of pathetic because I mean you'd never see that at like Texas or somewhere else just at UNT. sigh.
  23. no he's saying that unlike Dodge, Brown had experience as a head coach before with some success. And now you've made me type a response that people won't dig for being short and to the point!
