  1. this is so ridiculous. No freaking way he kicks FIVE field goals.
  2. I think FIU playing Bama well is the worst thing that could happen to NT rolling into to Tuscaloosa.
  3. Im not sure what I did to receive your overly dickish tone. I didn't say it was an average, I said it was due to the fact that they had a spike in business because of the program. I also never said it was good for America, I merely said it was good for a friend (or buddy, as you put it). And they DO make money on the back end from financing, I don't know where you're coming up with this "FMs dont make money from financed deals". They make no money on the back end of cash deals, but they most certainly make money on deals they finance. This guy may be a GSM. I don't remember. I had several other friends in Houston that worked in the industry that absolutely were FMs, however, and it was not uncommon for them to have 10k months (which I realize is "outlandish" and "absurd"). I would assume they experienced a similar uptick thanks to the program. Anyways, I'm 100% bored of this conversation and the related math. Clearly you're an expert and clearly I am the beneficiary of only part of the full story or, truth.
  4. As I'm sure you know, FM's make money based on how much they make 'per copy', which is how much over the cost of the car they add to the final bill, which includes warranties, interest, aftermarket parts, etc- all of which are easier to sell when you're cutting 8k off the price of the car. Which is how my friend made 20k last month, thanks in part to the business brought in with the clunker deal.
  5. tis indeed. We're going 10-2.
  6. wow, that didn't take long. perspective! there isn't any reason to be anything but optimistic about the direction of this team.
  7. I don't know, but that's easily the most disturbing avatar I think I've seen. I don't know if I should give you props or take a shower.
  8. nice.
  9. What these men did is nothing short of spectacular. Even more remarkable is the fact that they'd probably all tell you "I was just doing my job". To the memory of these men, who are true heroes.
  10. Both Rice and Houston will have their chance to make their statements, as both play Ok State and Tech this year.
  11. agreed. probably reality is somewhere in the middle.
  12. Imagine a world filled with those blenders. No cheap imitations. No lousy plastic jars. This is our goal. This is our struggle. One day all the world will bear witness to the realization of our vision.
  13. As it was explained to me, Utah canceled the series Texas had scheduled with them and Arkansas backed out of this year's game, which left Texas in a bind. Talks with Wisconsin fell through. In the interest of not wanting to schedule a 1AA, they found Wyoming (one of the only teams with an open date), who agreed to return two games 2010 and 2012 if Texas would travel there in 2009. Basically, Wyoming lucked out finding a big-time program that needed someone to play.
  14. Can you imagine a Waring/VitaMix-only society?
  15. This is more in line with the kind of response I was looking for. And I'll think on it some. I understand the mistrust of government- I don't believe anything any of them say. I'm not aware of this administration wanting to take over healthcare entirely. In the speech last night Obama commented specifically that a plan somewhere between the two extremes was probably best- which we can take for whatever that is worth. And yeah, along with Meangreenacct, still confused about the Nazi ideology from a president who is of a mixed race.
  16. Of course I'm serious. If you don't want to answer the question, or if you want to retrieve your laminated Rush Limbaugh list of talking points, that's fine... but I'm still curious to hear the answer. I've heard a lot of baseless Nazi rhetoric. I've heard a lot of fear generated on both sides of the aisle, as related to healthcare. But I still haven't heard a good reason why it is that we are all doomed besides that somebody heard from someone who heard that as well. I don't have a party that I identify with. I favor common sense, which seems to be lacking in both. Not sure if that helps with how you approach crafting your response.
  17. What empirical evidence is there to support this statement, as related specifically to Obama being in office? I keep hearing it over and over and I'm trying to figure out if there is an actual, verifiable reason for the alarm, or if this is based solely on the musings of the talk radio douches (which are douches on both sides of the debate) that have riled everyone up.
  18. I don't think the stadium holds a lot more than that. I drove by just after kickoff on the way to Wimberley and the stands looked pretty full.
  19. Well, I got it right away... and I suppose that says something about me.
  20. I tend to agree and I welcome being wrong.
