  1. Pretty much sums up the Dodge era, thus far.
  2. No, but I'm hoping they are capable of doing more than one thing at a time.
  3. Ah yes, the battle of dashed hopes and unrealized dreams starring a pair of underachieving heisman hopefuls. The Big 12 has their work cut out for them in the bowls, this season.
  4. ditto

    Yep

What happens with UT has a direct effect on our program.

    Yep

    SHUTUP! UT SUCKS!
  7. I don't really have any idea how good or bad any of the Big 12 is this year, including Texas. It was so inconsistent all year, it's hard to figure. I imagine the bowl games will tell us more, since the Big 12 plays a few SEC teams. Texas will have its chance to make their statement. Oklahoma State plays Ole Miss and A&M gets Georgia. USC was the greatest team in the history of college football back in 2005. A Texas QB finished second in the Heisman race, losing to a RB playing for their Rose Bowl opponent. Interesting how its all playing out.
  8. Welp, I sit corrected. I feel cheated. Was looking forward to seeing them play the BCS boys. Sucks.
  9. I meant in the event of a Texas loss. Not a chance in hell TCU gets in over an undefeated UT, whether deserving or not.
  10. Agreed, and I see your point, which is why I had changed my initial post (though too late... ha). My fear is, what if TCU gets in? Does that validate the BCS? Maybe, maybe not... but I think it makes the case for a playoff more challenging. I'm glad it all went the way it did as we've got a real mess on our hands. Even better if TCU and Boise State have to play each other. Total disaster.
  11. Well I was referring to the BCS bowls, with respects to tie-ins and selections. I assume C-USA has a tie-in for the Hawaii Bowl... but if not, it is definitely a curious decision. If I am SMU, I would have much preferred the New Orleans Bowl, for the sake of the fans.
  12. I understand what you're saying, but what if TCU slipped into the title game? Then the system "works". In my opinion, the more undefeated teams (and thus, the more undefeated teams left OUT), the more support for having a playoff to determine the winner. FIVE teams are undefeated. This is a MESS. I know you all hate Texas and that is fine, but Texas winning- especially the haphazard way they won- only makes a bigger mess of everything... and only strengthens TCU's case. As a side note, I find it hilarious UNT alums will tee off on Texas then turn around and fellate TCU, who is allegedly a peer institution with whom we (someday hope to) compete for recruits.
  13. pretty sure the bowls select the teams in the round after the conference tie-ins, so I don't see that happening as it wouldn't be desirable to whichever bowl site ended up with the two non-BCS schools. But if it did happen, it's just going to piss everyone off even more... which I welcome.
  14. I think everything that happened yesterday is actually going to end up being worse for the BCS supporters. You'll have three undefeated teams left out of the title game in a year when no clear favorite has emerged. Had Texas and Cincy lost, BCS people would say the system worked itself out. This time, it didn't... and it hasn't since 2005. In my opinion, this mess is a perfect storm for serious talk about playoffs.
  15. If this had happened and TCU ended up in the BCS Title game, we would be further away from getting a playoff because the BCS brass could point to the system and say, "see...everyone has a shot". What happened this weekend was absolutely the best possible scenario for those who want a playoff.
  16. agreed. and if this game had been Florida and Bama, everyone would be jerking off about what a great defensive battle it was. Fact is, Nebraska has one of if not the best D in the nation. Texas has a pretty good one, too.
  17. we're in an age of superfluous superlative hyperbole.
  18. ... and with his resignation, Kansas football fades back into obscurity.
  19. He's not a Tiger, he's a cheetah. Wait for it... wait for it... groooaaaaann
  20. Upping of anty (sp?). Either way, now with more intrigue. Will let you fellas know.
