  1. When you're good, luck tends to follow.
  2. Of all of the UNT ass-whippings I've attended, that one was by far the most painful for me. My city. My team. Total failure. The only amount of solace taken is that Rice won 10 games that year. And even that, for a "peer program", is only a very, very small consolation.
  3. stop interjecting reality into our baseless bitching.
  4. Wouldn't they rather have U of H? They've already got the DFW market, seems like Houston would be a more attractive option.
  5. I'm sure one Rick Barnes remembers a certain NT point guard fairly well. There are a lot of things that have to happen to make this go, but yeah, it would be a hell of a lot of fun if this all fell together like that. Would really prefer that 15 seed in OKC against K-State.
  6. meh....and then there's the turnovers. I feel fairly confident saying that I think we can win this as long as we can keep scoring more points than Troy.
  7. who cares. most of these guys picked WKU, so naturally they're going to go with the team that beat them. I prefer the role of the underdog.
  8. How do we match-up with Troy as opposed to WKU? Did we end up in a better situation with Troy getting the win? Sincerely, Guy that isn't really into basketball but loves UNT
  9. Either way, I'm ready.
  10. over. bring on troy.
  11. JV ref squad.
  12. I like what you've done here.
  13. Ohio State and LSU are notoriously bad, though I heard many of our fans had great experiences at LSU. I've NEVER heard of Nebraska fans being anything but great hosts, so I question the basis for placing them on this list. Boise State doesn't surprise me at all; this is what happens when never-weres become something (see Texas Tech). I encountered more dickheads in one game Norman than I've seen in Austin in our last three, but I assume everyone's experience differs.
  14. Well it was fun anyways. Damn you, Denver.
  15. I think people will come watch a game if they aren't sitting out in the cold watching our 1 or 2 win team take on some provisional D-1 squad of spares. I never come up to Thanksgiving games, but I can assure you I'll make the trip for this one.
  16. Or something like "Punch the Kitties"
  17. I mean, not to sound overly optimistic, but outside of Clemson and K-State, the rest of these games should be deemed "winnable". We've also never had a better chance to beat a Big 12 conference member (not named Baylor) better than this coming season. We get them at the end of the year (maybe) in a "home" game... that could be a great benefit.
  18. Nov 6th, for the conference championship.
  19. In the words of Tiger Woods, "huge".
  20. I would think spending the money to promote the games tomorrow and Thursday would be better than early in the week. If I saw a flier on Monday for a Thursday game I might say, "well now, that's a ways away. I'll think on it." But if on Thursday I saw a massive influx of marketing materials and discovered it was in fact that very evening I'd say to myself, "How timely and relevant, that's maybe something I need to be a part of."
  21. Another thing I hadn't thought of that was brought up in one of the papers here is UT Baseball. Garrido didn't sound enthusiastic in the least of playing in the colder climates, the travel, etc. Which I think is a valid concern. Granted, one sport does not a program make, UT Baseball is a bit of an institution.
