  1. Dudes, We are THE University of North Texas. We decide who we are going to play, when, where, and on what terms. Simple as that.
  2. It is what it is.
  3. I like this article and choose believe the author has a comprehensive understanding of our situation because it is telling me exactly what I want to hear.
  4. Also, Tech's "All Blacks".....
  5. I voted 'yes' because I love America and freedom. Commies.
  6. It's very simple to me. The WAC has shown it can produce top-25 programs somewhat consistently, and that teams that go undefeated will have a crack at the BCS. The Sunbelt has not. Secondly, Boise State wasn't always the BCS-bustin' "powerhouse" they are now... so it stands to reason it isn't beyond the realm of expectation for another team to step up and become something similar. Why not UNT?
  7. I tend to agree, but the MWC is ultimately our best bet. Not sure how TCU feels about us tagging along, however, or how the MWC membership vote goes.
  8. I can't believe I left off St Arnold's Elissa IPA. Another fantastic brew tour, if you're ever down Houston way.
  9. So much for that "big time" rivalry with MTSU that our fans "just can't get enough of"
  10. When I'm on a mission, Coors Light. When I'm being a grown-up, Guiness. When I'm in Nashville, Yazoo Pale Ale.
  11. Again, why is C-USA some panacea for all that is great in college football for UNT? Why is that our ultimate goal? C-USA is probably the most unstable conference, moving forward, of any of them.
  12. UH, SMU, Rice and TCU all had stints in the WAC that led to better things, and it didn't bankrupt them. I think what it comes down to is, is the WAC a move up, perception-wise? If so, it might be a worthwhile move, considering there will probably be further realignment years down the road.
  13. You are correct. Seems to me most NT fans would get along nicely with UH fans...if for no other reason than having so many common enemies.
  14. Just caught the thread in the VVIP..... WOW!!!!11 This would be HUGE!!!!!1
  15. Hey, at least they've got people working on their behalf.
  16. Isn't expanding the sunbelt like adding a sun room to a doublewide? i mean, yeah...it's a slight improvement, but you're still in a traile
  17. Have you ever been to a UH game? When Houston plays people, they sell the place out. Look no further than the Tech game last year. UH's chief issue with attendance is who they play. It's only slightly different than our problem. Where we play true nobodies week in and week out, UH plays teams we'd like to think are somebodies, while their alumni remember the days of the SWC when they played actual somebodies. Memphis is a slight step down from Texas A&M in the appealing matchup department (which exists because I just made it up). The Big12 will NEVER add UH. For one, Deloss Dodds despises the U of Houston and refuses to ever play them in any sports, if they can help it. Secondly, A&M and the rest of the Big 12 don't want to lose the "we're a BCS conference" leg they've got up on "C-USA Houston"- especially with Kevin Sumlin there.
  18. Welcom to teh internetz.
  19. I hate you, Eagle1855.
  20. Understood. What are your thoughts on building the Sun Belt? As I understand it, San Antonio is a good-sized media market and the addition of UTSA could be the boost we need to legitimize the conference.
  21. What about the WAC? Have we considered a possible move out west?
  22. What if UNT went to C-USA and we could play games every year against our rival SMU? What are you guys thoughts on that?
  23. UH might be a sleeping giant. They've got several highly-ranked academic colleges and a quality football and basketball program. They also field a decent baseball team and they're in a fairly substantial media market. I wouldn't doubt they'd be able to raise the $ for such an endeavor IF they ended up in a conference with BCS ties. They have the alums that are ready, willing, and angry they were passed over when the SWC fell apart. I was at the UH-Tech game last year, which was one of the best college football games I've seen. There is a lot of buzz around the program. They knocked off a pair of Big 12 and an SEC school.... and had heisman hype aplenty. I'd say they're in as good a position as any non-BCS school in this realignment mess.
