Thank God our team won't go into that game under the assumption they are going to get "smoked." UH will be breaking in a new QB. If they do well again this year, they may be looking for a new head coach, too. This is a good opportunity. We'll get press in Houston and in Dallas on our stadium and our facilities as well as our on-field performance. In one of those areas, we'll hit a home-run. The other remains to be seen but I'd be hesitant to raise the white flag this early in the game.

Overall, UNT and Texas State have actually had a good rivalry- we've played them more than any other opponent. For that reason alone, I'm fine with Texas State joining the Belt. I couldn't care less about UTSA or their athletic ambition.

I thought about that when I responded. I should have said something about their latent homosexuality, but then I'd be just another one of "those" people so you know, I opted for the high road. I assure you it will not happen often, as it isn't as fun- even for a boot-lickin queerbait like me.

I don't know, when taken in the context of the situation (a celebration among friends and family) I can see how it would be funny for everyone in attendance. I've written stupid songs for/about people and performed them. It wasn't written to create a serious, Grammy-worthy masterpiece, rather just for laughs among friends.

I'm far less concerned with the wild hopes and dreams of UTSA and Texas State than I am with our own fans and alumni being afraid these programs are passing us by- even as we build a 70+ million dollar stadium and continue to develop Eagle Point. Good grief, people... UTSA has yet to play a down of football and Texas State's stadium STILL looks like a HS facility, even with the upgrades.
