  1. This reminds me an awful lot of our rivalry with SMU. Two major college programs, the pride of the state, facing off year after year for bragging rights, recruits, and National Titles. I'm surprised something this dramatic hasn't happened between our schools, yet.
  2. I think if you replace "passionate" with "mentally unstable", you're dead-on.
  3. If this guy really did poison the trees, he's one of the biggest dicks in college football fandom history. There seems to be some speculation. Pulled this off a thread at TideFans (because I've clearly got nothing to do right now): SIKE, he posted a follow-up on his BLOG, poisoning is legit: GREAT POST, EAGLE1855.
  4. I'd be the hugest douche you've never seen if UNT won a national championship.
  5. I miss the college football team uniforms.
  6. That's loser speak.
  7. In the same season, actually. Then somehow dropped three C-USA games and a big part of it was Keenum turning into an interception-throwing machine. WEIRD. That Tech-UH football game was one of the best I've ever attended. Quite certain Robertson has never been as loud.
  8. I'm on board. I like the idea. It's completely crazy and it just might grab some headlines (which in and of itself would be a success). Maybe we need a song about it...shouldn't be hard to work Dunbar into a rhyme.
  9. This has been my number 1 concern, even more so than Keenum. New coaches, new schemes, new everything... tough way to start a season.
  10. Exactly. I'd hate to miss out on such an historic match-up like Baylor v TCU.
  11. I already hate UTSA and they haven't even played a down of football.
  12. This is why the internet exists. Things like this.
  13. Only God can judge me now.
  14. The stadium is being built. So what exactly are they hoping to accomplish with these letters? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I really want to know what is the issue and what they think can still be done.
  15. And it's the biggest difference between the upper-echelon power conference programs and the Sun Belts and Conference USAs of the world (which I think is the reason the spread was initially deemed the great equalizer, until defenses adapted). A solid front 7 can make average DBs look good, just like a good O-line can make decent RB into a star.
  16. Thought it was an interesting read, especially the headline from the Pittsburgh Press "Who's Joe Greene?" The Article
  17. What about an implied facepalm?
  18. Both of whom were five-star recruits, according to Rivals. Vince Young's class was one of the most highly-rated classes Texas ever had. The 2005 football team was one of the best ever. People can keep saying it has nothing to do with winning, but good luck finding a national champion in the past 10 years who wasn't loaded with 3-star (or better) recruits. The entire sun belt has low-ranked classes compared to the SEC. Is that political too? Or is it a reflection of the severe talent gap that exists between the two conferences? I suspect the day we start pulling a few four-star recruits, you'll see the entire mood and opinions on recruiting rankings turn... And I absolutely agree we haven't lost games based on talent alone... anyone with any sort of football brain knows that. There are several factors that affect winning programs, but having the talent makes it a hell of a lot easier.
  19. I think i would have preferred having a game to kick the rust of before playing UH.
  20. Yeah and before that it led to a national championship, a few BCS bowl wins, a record number of 10-win seasons, bowl appearances, etc. I understand the sentiment, but all this "ratings don't matter talk" is what people say who didn't get players with high ratings. This is a fine class, why people feel the need to denigrate the rating system to feel good about it is beyond me.
  21. bootlicker.
  22. the Discover Denton link on the North Texas Superbowl site is broken (it points to "dicoverdenton.com" instead of diScoverdenton.com), and it has been that way since this link was posted here. Hope they didn't pay too much for it.
  23. There's good Mexican food, too.
