So your theory is that Alabama was just jerking its way through a National Championship Game, and it had nothing to do with strong play by the Texas defense and the offense finding ways to make plays to get them back into the game? Ha, okay. I imagine Nick Saban tends to agree with me on this one, but I'll not know until I ask him. The "po' South"? What is that even supposed to mean? Texas has plenty (a majority) of recruits that don't come from wealth and privilege, so I'm not sure where you're going with that one. Your entire premise on the demise of the University of Texas Football Program rides on UT being married to the LHN. If they split from it, every point made in this thread falls apart.

Did you watch the same National Title game as everyone else? I get that you despise UT for whatever reason, but that game was still a 3 point game with some 3 minutes to go with an inexperienced QB at the helm against one of the best defenses in the nation. I'd hardly call that "running roughshod". The Texas defense kept them in the game in spite of the offense giving the ball away at every corner. This is starting to sound more like a scenario you'd like to see play out (fantasy) versus an objective look at what is likely to happen. If Texas in fact realizes the LHN will be their "demise", you can bet they'll ditch it. They were fine without out in before, they'll be fine without it after. People are blinded by bias if you think the SEC wouldn't take UT over A&M (or anyone else in the Big 12).

I think what people are forgetting is that no matter what happens, Texas isn't going to be "left out in the cold" If Texas wanted to join the SEC, the SEC would be glad to have them. Same for the PAC whatever. Hate them as you will, but there are few programs in the nation that are a bigger "get" than Texas for ANY conference. I also don't see anyone going it alone. Texas isn't going to resign itself to some second tier conference in all over sports just to go indy in foot all. You can't schedule an independent baseball team, basketball, etc. Alum would never go for it. The Big 12 may die, but all this talk about Texas dying with it are misguided pipe dreams. If anything dies, it will be the LHN.

Their run defense sucks.

The idea of 'breaking' concession stand news is in and of itself exciting to me.

What are you guys thoughts about possibly joining Texas State and UTSA in a re-vamped WAC? Just looking for some opinions.

These uniforms are fantastic! Very classic, collegiate look. No gimmicks, all green. All good.

It's all the rage on here. People hate on UT and act like the rest of the Big 12 are these selfless have nots that need our support. What's probably closer to the truth is that they're all the same; UT is just better at playing the game OFF the field.

Oh, I'm sorry. MESSAGE BOARD traditions. I love win/loss prediction threads. More than anything else in my entire life.

Does Big East Hold Key To WAC Expansion

I'd still watch it. -
Ah yes, but from the waist down, that's where the mean green excel.

It seems everything we do is a secret. It's very strange, I agree.

Seems to be doing well for himself.

Does Big East Hold Key To WAC Expansion
Eagle1855 replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
It's a humorous quote, but can really call a fan-base that supports their team so strongly that they could command their own network "pathetic?" I mean, I'd go from 6 to midnight if a mean green network was announced. As far as all the rest of this stuff is concerned, my thoughts are as follows: 1.) We need a baseball team. 2.) We need to win. We can control those two things. After that, the conferences will shake up at least once more and when they do we'll want to have a good resume/compelling case to present. -
At this point, it may be time to delete the WAC off our Facebook, block them from our Twitter, and remove them from our Foursquare.

Leach gave an awesome interview on 790 in Houston this morning. According to Leach (I haven't time to fact-check), during his time as head coach of TTU: Tech had the highest graduation rate of football players of any public university They won more games than any other coaching staff at Tech Won more bowl games than all other Tech coaches combined Tech had some of their best season records ever That's what I can remember off the top of my head. Not a bad mix of results on and off the field, especially considering his tenure was during some of OU, OSU, and UT's best seasons. Plus he's funny.

Yes. This.
