  1. Absolutely appreciate the invite, but 260+ miles each way is a tad too far for this go round!
  2. Looks like we'll have to route the laptop through the TV, which shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the quick replies!
  3. I understand (thanks to the power of the internetz) that it's ESPN's live-streaming programming option. Does this channel ever broadcast on cable TV, or is it exclusive to the internet? In other words, I'd prefer to watch Thursday's game on an actual TV, not huddled around my laptop so how do I do that? Thanks, Tech-challenged in Texas
  4. You don't just roll into "The Cage" and expect to come out unscathed.
  5. Well, selling out their stadium week in and week out ($) along with a far-more lucrative TV deal ($), greater national presence, and higher conference profile certainly wouldnt hurt...
  6. Figure Alabama alone is worth 8 or 9, right?
  7. Love this quote and that attitude. Good things coming.
  8. And then Barry Sanders was all like, "YEAH, you hear that Emmitt?"
  9. what's a tight end?
  10. I "agree". This is definitely a strip club. Po-knees, I might call it. (wah-wah)
  11. Great, now they're going to get our SEC bid.
  12. Weren't there 7 coaches who also received benefits? Seems like they would have been well aware of what was going on. Or at least should have been. Sticking your head in the sand is essentially the same as being a part of it. This is pretty bad. If ever they were going to issue the death penalty again, this had got to be as close as they've been. Casts a stain on everyone during those time periods. 8 years of this guy doing this and no one thought to wonder or investigate? I don't buy it.
  13. Win all the games on the schedule and there will be magazines all over the country putting us on the cover.
  14. If we are to assume a conference wouldn't want more than one team from the same market, why would anyone take SMU over TCU? Never going to happen. And if you think TCU wouldn't bail on the Big East one year after joining, you've not followed the serial-dater that is TCU through their conference changes over the years. They'd join a regional conference in ALL sports with a quickness, if given the opportunity. SMU to the Big 12 is not the best-case scenario for UNT; UNT to the Big 12 (or similar) is the best-case for UNT.
  15. They were in the pool!!!!
  16. You clearly know absolutely nothing about Houston.
  17. UT isnt going to go independent. It makes no sense for any other sport, and UT values their other sports. The Big 12 would do well to add UH, else they can hand over the Houston market to the SEC. It's already on it's way with all the LSU fans.
  18. I'd take any bid out of the Sunbelt that wasnt the WAC or MAC.
  19. Let me ask you all this: Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  20. Well 2009 is the last full season Keenum played. So it's just meant to illustrate that Keenum can throw for 500 yards twice and just inside 400 yards in three losing efforts. As in, he can't win these games alone. I'm not sure why everyone on this board is so hell-bent on being miserable. I can't wait til we start winning again!
  21. It was either the likelihood of UNT joining the SEC or famine in Somalia. I can never keep any of it in perspective.
  22. Maybe we should take a page out of Perry's playbook and pray UNT into the SEC.
  23. All of this sounds nice (and will no doubt win friends on GMG.com), but at it's core, it's baseless conjecture. I'm also one of the most ardent supporters of UNT you'll ever meet, so why you feel the need to brand me a "UT supporter" is beyond me. The only people that will get screwed with what UT is doing is Texas Tech and Baylor. If you want to discuss my thoughts on that, I'm glad to do so. I think it's a bum deal for both of them. But then again, as a UNT supporter, I couldn't care less about either of them.
  24. I imagine a lot of UCF fans thought the same of having Texas open their stadium. Or maybe they didn't... It's U of H, not Alabama. Houston lost games to UTEP, UCF, and ECU in 2009 when Keenum was QB. He threw for over 1400 yards and 13 touchdowns in those three games. All of which were LOSING EFFORTS.
