The point is, not everyone lives in the metroplex or cares about the metroplex. So unless you want UNT to be a regional University (we don't, it isnt), you don't change up things at the last minute on the off-chance some local franchise makes it to the championship. I support changing the time of ANY other game, but you can't change Homecoming. Out-of-towners that want to go back to visit their alma mater often make this their ONE trip back to Denton each year. I'm really surprised people are having such a difficult time understanding this.

Not everyone that went to UNT is from Dallas nor lives in Dallas, ergo, not everyone that is a UNT alum cares about Dallas sports. Kind of myopic to assume this is an issue that affects everyone. And it would be really absurd to change schedules for games when people that don't live in Dallas have made plans according to those that were set months in advance to attend the homecoming of their alma mater. RV absolutely did the right thing. Anything else would be small-time.

This is why I'm all for UNT and Texas State being in the same conference.

I believe it's their homecoming. And they had something like 28k+ fans to their last home game, will likely have 30k+ for this one. This will be a tough game and I've zero confidence in our offense (which still only scored 17 points against abysmal FAU). I'd take ULL with the points, if I was a betting on this one. But I'm not. So I'll take UNT with my heart. Straight up.

Yes. It doesn't matter how well the Belt teams do, they'll always be perceived as lower-tiered academic schools and second-rate athletic programs.

I guess I just don't really care what people wear. Personally, I'd never be seen in a jersey of any kind unless I was actually playing the sport, but I understand other people feel differently about that and that's fine, it's their thing. I always sport clothing that either 1) supports the friend/family I attend the game with, or 2) the home team ,if I haven't any vested interest in the game. Because of this, I've got t-shirts and hats from all sorts of different colleges. I get one every memorable new stadium/sports event I attend. Someday they'll adorn the walls of the Mean Green Man Cave and Sports Bar with corresponding ticket stubs. I just genuinely love the sport. Probably other people do too, which is why they're at the game in the first place. No big deal.

UH is a good team. That November 19th date with SMU could be a really interesting match-up in Houston, as both will likely be favored in every game they play leading up to it.

Oh you mean the same UL fans that have a similar inferiority complex with LSU? I'll tell you what both programs need to do to get people excited about representing their respective schools: WIN. That's it. It's all it takes. And our alma mater did just that last night.

Works for USC and UCLA. I like it. There are at least 3 billboards up around Houston and all of them say UNT quite large.

I think the point is, that SMU is a win away from sliding into the AP Top 25 and we're nowhere near getting out of the bottom 25. A few years ago, we gambled on our coaching hire while they threw cash at a proven commodity. We lost and that loss will likely be one more reason why we aren't considered for any BCS conferences. Like I've always said, no one holds UNT down like UNT. We've righted the coaching ship, in my opinion, but all this alignment is several years too soon for UNT.

We would take him in a heartbeat. I do not know why he would come here, however, as opposed to a BCS school or a pass-heavy non-BCS.
